@@NanoMp40 I agree with you, but your example is really bad in my opinion. I’d say that spot is is mediocre at best. It’s really easy to get picked off by multiple angles without a shield, but if your tank is baby sitting the team, the enemy walks the cart for free. The bridge will also block most of your angles unless you are a good dps, which is not the case in lower ranks. Within seconds, like 3, the cart will be at that point where the bridge block any good shots. Some games, I see teams just sit up there while the other team walks it for free. At some point, your team will need to jump down to contest or walk back and hold the choke, which then brings this awkward moment where half your team jumps and the other moves back. From my experience, I throw a sig shield up on the high ground, and I jump down and peak the corner/watch the right side flank. Or, I play ball and dance on the cart. Another issue is that your team gets really grouped in that spot, and it’s really easy for a biotic or a piledriver to get massive value. I honestly find that spot to be more of a trap than anything else. It’s better to have like an Anna and a dps up there than the whole team. The spot loses a lot of value without being contested. That being said, I completely agree that most people should not be moving past the bridge to contest unless they know what they are doing.
@@frozone1669 Once you make it to masters gm and such, you’ll start getting for the most part, better teammates. Diamond and Plat are full of people trying to either stay in their rank or climb out.
@@lobsterfork I never said you have to group all the team in the bridge just because high ground exist, neither that you have to forget about contesting. But Junkertown is a tricky map, at the beginning is really easily to die by a pick or that if you choose the wrong high ground in can be really dificult to get support or run away unless you can climb or jump higher. As a tank is good if you want to fight on the floor and contest but it's better if you go back some meters and leave your supports room to be in the right side of the first bridge, that position has literally everyone in front of you and the enemy can't pick you from the spawn, you just need a tank that knows you aren't going to walk to their spawn. The biggest choke on that part is the bridge, even if the enemies can hide or try to flank, you can choose whetever to run away, hide, rotate, fall or look a the route from the spawn if you want to keep them from grouping. And if the whole team has bad positions and die on the first part then the enemy will pass that bridge like it's nothing. So I would not call it a trap, if somebody thinks too hard on keeping that position even when it isn't made for their hero that's on them, not the spot
it technically isn't, inanimate refers largely to something not alive or showing no signs of life, especially life like that of an animal. avocados are alive, though whether the seed is the avocado or the flesh is may vary the frequency at which an avocado could be considered animate.
to be fair, leaving spawn instantly on a map that favors widowmaker can be stupid. Make her give away her position on your tank first. Instead of oneshotting your face cus you had to rush out of spawn. i do it often when i go high ground. So my enemy dont pre-aim me when i leave spawn. it works much better than just rushing out. As i then get the advantage of having the enemy team focus on my tank on the objective who is getting heals anyway.
Especially when flats can see the other team has a widow, I'm not sure why he didn't think of that as an option beyond "gotta shit on the bronze cause that's the funny"
How would the player have known there was a widow? Even if they did know the widow was there from hearing the widow shoot before doors open, the widow clearly can't see them from that door. The only place the widow would be able to see from is the exposed high ground to the left, which the player can see has nobody standing on it. Them knowing the widow was on the other team at all is a large stretch though, as I haven't played with many bronze players that can tell what characters exist based purely on sound. Its nice to give people the benefit of the doubt, but not pointing out obviously bad plays is a disservice to the person who's being reviewed. Personally I would be upset if flats just gave my bad plays a pass because I might be doing something that I'm obviously not doing.

26:21 Appears they were using Storm Arrows to try and hit the cloaked Sombra, because the Sombra cloaked right in front of them. That would be somewhat understandable... if it wasn't for the fact Sombra was uncloaked less than a second later.

lets be honest he nailed it with the walnut comparison. they have the potential to do a lot of damage when they fall but then waits around forever for the outer parts to fall off. my man was spot on haha.
As a support player I don’t mind a good “heal me”. Sometimes I’m oblivious. But if you are solo back lining I’m not gonna sacrifice myself to die with you. I’ll try a ranged heal if I got a good angle but that’s the best I can do
It's not even that, it's just sometimes we're doing else like healing a beaten Tank, doing dmg, trying to heal someone in a bad situation AKA getting a lot of aggression or just simply we don't have eyes behind our back so yes sometimes it's necessary & we'll heal u lol
@@Alex_Aramayo Reminds me of a pie chart I saw called "Reasons why I am not healing you". The best reason was "I can't heal you through a wall.", but the BIGGEST reason was "I have been healing you, asshole. I literally just healed you seconds ago." But for me, it's usually "Where are you even?" or "I'm dead, are you blind?" but it's generally on me if I die as support.
Yes sir! Never peel as a support! I have seen Mercys in Diamond that go res the genji that died first (as always) in the middle of the map 😂😂 . unironically, the best overwatch "advice" ive gotten is when flats once offhandedly joked about someone needing to "hit the aimtrainer"... because i didnt even know that was like a thing that existed. now its second nature to start a queue and go into a custom aim trainer as i wait :)
I think the reason RimReaper doesn't hit people when they're shattered is that he thinks that shatter "stun" and sleep "stun" are the same, so he doesn't damage them to wake them up. Cause if you saw it, in the first fight, he waited a lot before hitting the Dva and the stun time ended and the dva woke up so he thought he woke her up. That's confusing lmao.

Positioning. That´s the key to climb up to at least plat. The low elo gamer don´t realise when they are standing on a bad spot and than flaming the tank for not tanking and the support for not healing the dmg of 5 enemys.
@mrosskne It depends on the hero and role you play. But in general: If you don't have cover for falling back in a losing fight, you are in a bad position. If you are in a 1vs2 or worse without a way out immediately, you are in a bad spot. If you are taking a teamfight on a bad angle, it's bad, but if you overextend, it's worse. There are so many variables that you can't put everything in a comment, but I think I included the most important things. It's gamesence.
this hanzo is the literal definition of every player ive seen scream at us and get massivly tilted after the enemy team caps 3 on round one. before we even get a chance
@Flats, I actually liked when your said "object pertinence", because while it may not have been the word you were originally going for, it absolutely applies. By definition, pertinence means "the fact or quality of being directly and significantly related to the matter at hand; relevance". So YES, bronze players need more Object Pertinence. Is the Widowmaker who has been looking at me for the past 10 minutes relevant? Yes, she very much is. Honestly, I think you should lean into Object Pertinence.
@@parallel5th838 I know this is an old comment but I can't let this stand lmao. It's object *permanence*, that's what Flats said. In fact, if you bothered googling "object pertinence" you''d have found that it even autocorrects you to object permanence, because it's an actual term pertaining to developmental psychology. It refers to the brains ability to understand that an object that has left your immediate field of view does not simply cease to exist. The joke being that Flats calls the guy a literal toddler.

The fact you have the humbleness to not risk double snipers makes you 100x better than like 90% of bronze players. You'll get there my G, keep on trucking.
yeah the nade is pretty unreliable. Sometimes it hits when it 100% shouldn't have, sometimes it misses the easiest sticks of all time, sometimes it homes in pre-emptively into a wall and misses because of it. It doesn't feel good or rewarding to use nor play against. I hope they just replace it with something else entirely, like maybe a combination of Bastion's nade and Ashe's dynamite. It functions like Bastion's nade, but can be detonated manually by re-activating the ability.

@Vibeguy1052 yep dps rarely make a big difference unless they are playing a godly one-shot character or straight up have 15+ deaths, most of the time it’s a tank diff… supports and tanks have a ton of firepower to finish off picks making dps really the least impactful role

I love how Flats feels it’s necessary to remind us an Avocado is an inanimate object
What makes it unnecessary?
@@JShockTV fair point
it technically isn't, inanimate refers largely to something not alive or showing no signs of life, especially life like that of an animal. avocados are alive, though whether the seed is the avocado or the flesh is may vary the frequency at which an avocado could be considered animate.
to be fair, leaving spawn instantly on a map that favors widowmaker can be stupid.
Especially when flats can see the other team has a widow, I'm not sure why he didn't think of that as an option beyond "gotta shit on the bronze cause that's the funny"
bro in a bronze lobby im taking that duel every single time
i dont think you gotta worry about widow hitting shots in bronze, should be more worried about not walking in a straight line
@@icheatintop5008 if you are a bronze that's a terrible 1v1 to take
How would the player have known there was a widow? Even if they did know the widow was there from hearing the widow shoot before doors open, the widow clearly can't see them from that door. The only place the widow would be able to see from is the exposed high ground to the left, which the player can see has nobody standing on it. Them knowing the widow was on the other team at all is a large stretch though, as I haven't played with many bronze players that can tell what characters exist based purely on sound.
Its nice to give people the benefit of the doubt, but not pointing out obviously bad plays is a disservice to the person who's being reviewed. Personally I would be upset if flats just gave my bad plays a pass because I might be doing something that I'm obviously not doing.

the hanzo trying to defend himself in chat, and at the very end saying that his duo got off cart... dude has such an ego, thats probably why he tried to 1v5 like 10 times.
26:21 Appears they were using Storm Arrows to try and hit the cloaked Sombra, because the Sombra cloaked right in front of them. That would be somewhat understandable... if it wasn't for the fact Sombra was uncloaked less than a second later.
even if that's the reason, why shoot at the ground?

Pop quiz: Can Flats make it through a spectating Bronze without referencing various nuts?
No. No he can’t
lets be honest he nailed it with the walnut comparison. they have the potential to do a lot of damage when they fall but then waits around forever for the outer parts to fall off. my man was spot on haha.
therimreaper was the hero we didnt deserve but the hero we are glad to have
Flats is simple, he sees a funny rein and then takes his pov.
id love to see him take rimreaper into a game and try to coach them.
i love how brutally honest flats is
As a support player I don’t mind a good “heal me”.
I literally just healed you seconds ago."
But for me, it's usually "Where are you even?" or "I'm dead, are you blind?" but it's generally on me if I die as support.
Yes sir! Never peel as a support! I have seen Mercys in Diamond that go res the genji that died first (as always) in the middle of the map 😂😂 .
The times I have SCREAMED in VC: "YO MERCY you better not try to Res that shit!" I have stopped a few dozen right at the moment they dive for that res and walk back to me like "ok, I wont😢" 😂😂

"Awareness of a tomato sitting on the counter" good God 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I get why Flats is so angry because the dude has potential he has good aim but my god his decision making, positioning and just awareness is floor level this is a great example of aim is not a replacement for skill because even with amazing aim you can't just win if you don't know what you're doing
he clearly doesn't play overwatch. idk overwatch players all act superior cause newbies don't understand exactly how the game works right away.

unironically, the best overwatch "advice" ive gotten is when flats once offhandedly joked about someone needing to "hit the aimtrainer"... because i didnt even know that was like a thing that existed. now its second nature to start a queue and go into a custom aim trainer as i wait :)

The low elo gamer don´t realise when they are standing on a bad spot and than flaming the tank for not tanking and the support for not healing the dmg of 5 enemys.
how do you tell which spots are bad?
@mrosskne It depends on the hero and role you play. But in general:
If you don't have cover for falling back in a losing fight, you are in a bad position.
This was the most incredible bronze vod I've seen in a long time, thanks flats
this hanzo is the literal definition of every player ive seen scream at us and get massivly tilted after the enemy team caps 3 on round one. before we even get a chance
It's object permanance not pertinence.

I'm a bronze who mains Hanzo as offence and I'll honestly say I've gotten a lot better. Issue is usually I can't choose him because someone either goes for him first or picks Widow and I'm not risking double snipers. I played OW1 on console so I'm rusty on PC sometimes and climbing out of bronze solo is difficult but I hope this Hanzo player ranks up and gets better as he continues on. Good luck buddy
The fact you have the humbleness to not risk double snipers makes you 100x better than like 90% of bronze players. You'll get there my G, keep on trucking.
This guy used sonic arrow like he'd never get it back. Its one of hanzos only saving graces
19:59 the most impressive is that the Sticky didn't stick the Moiria
yeah the nade is pretty unreliable.
