I won the Expert Championship with all top flight cars (Impreza, Lancer, Corolla and Escort), and then went back and won it in Expert using the Megane (couldn't win every event, but did enough the win the championship). I played this so much that I'm certain the PS1's laser burnt a hole in my game disc! 🤣 Seriously though, a wonderful game. I really thank you for this nostalgic trip.
No it wasnt. Its a 1998 game which is past mid life of the PSX. Many Rally games were launched before it and some are maybe even better depends on who you ask
I'm with @likilikiki - V-Rally couldn't hold a candle to this, and while Rally Championship was pretty epic on the PC, the PS1 version was not great. This game was superb for its time.

So, this is where it all started. Always meant to buy this game, but never got round to it. Obviously not played it, but it certain looks like it plays similar to Sega Rally.

I still love the way the cars handle in this game. One of my fav rally games still actually lol :)
They just got so much right about the handling and physics. This was the most playable rally game on 32 bit without a doubt

@@likilikiki having slightly more realistic physics doesnt make for a better game.....some people get it, some people dont...
