Duck tape on the valve seats will help big time on protecting them from the carbide shaft. Just a tip if anyone decided to play around with bowl blending and shaping the end of valve guide.
Thanks for upload. I didn't realize the pre-99 heads had the bung there, can that bung be removed? I guess I can just go to the boneyard and pick up a set of post-99 heads. There at least 30 2000+ 3800 in the boneyard and about 10 or so of those are the supercharged. I have a set of carbide burs, the have the long shafts - lol. I think I'll pick up a set from Harbor freight. I am only porting these heads for practice, however, I don't want to ruin them because I ended up paying $125 bones to get cleaned up at a machine shop.
Those are the same exact set of carbide bits I use I believe? Mine are cross cut burs for steel. The single edge cut burs are meant for softer metals like aluminum. Those are the real deal shit as well. Not those cheap ass brazed on headed ones.
Great Job.. I just did my 3.8 intake manifold today

To make a suggestion have a cup with engine oil and every 30 seconds dip your burr in it, It will give you better control and save your burr

Cast iron is very difficult to port. Use a 1/8 cutting bit. Dramel will not cut it.
Huh. I’m using an air grinder not a dremel..
