This is very cool. I don't know much about blackbirds, but the flute solo that is the first minute or so definitely reminded me of birds. The rapid notes and sudden changes of Jasmine Choi's virtuosic staccato playing kept making me think of sandpipers running in all directions over a beach, grabbing bits of food while avoiding waves. Later, the action slows down a bit, but the flute still makes me think of the sudden but delicate movements one associates with birds.
