Thanks for the vid. Puchased all of these budget bourbons (and many others) at the beginning of my bourbon journey. Now they mostly sit in a box. My advice: get one or two budget stock bourbons for mixing and pouring at larger events, but spend your money on better bottles. One $50-60 bottle of Rare Breed, 1920/1910, or Bowman Single Barrel is better than two bottles of the "value" stuff.
For 'value' stuff ($20-30) the OF100 is my standard bar mixer, and the Bowman Small Batch is my "neat but cheap" selection. You can't go wrong with any of Erin's picks as well. Really doesn't matter as long as you stick with popular distillers, and avoid flavored options.

Here in northeastern Illinois, I have never seen Early Times BIB blue cap, black cap, any cap and no cap, as the kids say.
Those same caps are not available in SW Florida.

You two are so cute, love your videos. I love cooking, hubby can grill, neither of us likes to clean. Evan Williams was one of my first tastes, liked it better in mixed drinks, but great value. Love Knob Creek 9, some days it tastes better than others, but great. Did not love WT101 in the beginning, it's now my favorite budget buy.
My house decanter is a 50/50 mix of Knob Creek 9 and Wild Turkey 101

As always great show. I'm with erin on Evan williams. I like it better than Wild Turkey 101 it's a good sipper and a good mixer and it's so cheap in a handle. I don't like most jim beam but i like knob 9 and the new beam 7 year. I'm lucky enough to have Early Times at my local favorite store

If you like low proof with good flavor, and don’t mind the price, it’s a good buy. At least our bottle is. Batches can vary but we’ve tried a few and enjoyed them all.

Thanx for peer pressuring me into baby pours of WT101, ET BiB, and Evan Williams BiB in the morning fam! Somewhere down the line I need to revisit KC9, as historically, I didn’t dig it at all…and I have always dug KC12 and picks and Baker’s and recently the $20 overpriced Booker’s. I have revisited a lot of Erin’s faves here (and throw in OFO 100) recently in needing to get back into the 100 proof range from my mainly proofy stuff to balance out Paper Planes. WT101 has been my least fave in that experiment. The pricier Barrell Foundation is in the pool as well. Early Times is easily my fave neat.
Early Times is just so dang good for the money. It’s the neat sipper of the bunch, although we do tend to skew toward less sweet options like WT101, Evan Williams BiB, or JTS Brown for cocktails.
I can remember when the only generation name anyone ever used was "(baby) boomer," and that was just back formation from the baby boom after World War II. Nowadays it's like we can't deal with people as individuals, just categories, and so there's always a new generation name floating around.
6:24 I've never gotten peanut butter from any whisky, and certainly not from Knob Creek. That brand gives me oak and smoke and chocolate - which is what I like. 🙂

The bourbon I liked the least so far in my journey, was Knob Creek 9 year, blech! I wasn't a fan of Makers 46 either. Still trying to figure out what I like and do not like.
Figuring out those preferences is very important, and they're a moving target too. The more you try, the more your palate changes and adapts.
I'd like to see a vid of Erin's best tasting notes; Footie Pajamas, stinky feet, smells like Whole Foods...etc.
As polarizing as those can be sometimes, the comments section would be wild for that one! 😂
Jim beam 7year is better the Evan williams imo, but I do agree with WT 101, and Early times, is in my whiskey library as a have to most definately, I also like knobb creek .
Also ngl i hate wt 101 so soapy tasting but love rare breed since yall put me on, and havent been able to find early times BIB black caps.

Over 97% male and over half in the 35-55 age demographic with the bulk outside of that range in the 55+ age groups per UA-cam stats.
Evan Williams usually is nutty but their bottle and bond doesn't taste nutty at all to me It taste light and sweet. I usually go to the 101 also over that but every now and then I want something a little lighter with an enjoyable flavor at 100 proof and budget
