I used to get calls several times a day from these guys, the fake tax scammers, the air duct cleaners, and so on. I'm a union organizer, so I started telling the people who called that they know their bosses are crooks, and if they'd rip me off, they'd rip them off too -- but that I could help them organize a union and get a _lot_ more money out of their call centre. I've only managed to give contact information for my union a few times because we usually get cut off right in the middle of the discussion, probably by a supervisor listening in.
Now I don't get any calls at all. I think I've been blacklisted. :(

If I don't have the time I'll just answer the phone with "Norwegian police department (...) how may I help you...?" They've stopped calling me now... :D

Jan Hoff I myself enjoy doing this a few times a week since 1998. Longest I've kept one on the line was 8 hours and 34 mins. Epic fun. The way I see it is, one less scammer scamming so it's a civic duty.
