The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) is a collegiate athletic conference in the United States in which its fifteen member universities compete in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA's) Division I, with its football teams competing in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), the highest levels for athletic competition in US-based collegiate sports. The ACC sponsors competition in twenty-five sports with many of its member institutions' athletic programs held in high regard nationally. ACC teams and athletes have claimed dozens of national championships in multiple sports throughout the conference's history. Generally, the ACC's top athletes and teams in any particular sport in a given year are considered to be among the top collegiate competitors in the nation.
Founded in 1953 in Greensboro, North Carolina, by seven universities located in the South Atlantic States, the conference added additional members in late 1953, 1979, 1991, 2004, and 2013. The 2004 and 2013 additions extended the conference's footprint into the Northeast and Midwest. The most recent expansion in 2013 saw the additions of the University of Notre Dame, the University of Pittsburgh, and Syracuse University. In 2012, the University of Maryland's Board of Regents voted to withdraw from the ACC to join the Big Ten Conference. On November 28, 2012, the ACC's Council of Presidents voted unanimously to invite the University of Louisville as a full member, replacing Maryland.

This game is more remembered for Duke's buzzer-beater halfcourt shot than UNC having more points at end of game.
It’s just not the same without Dickie V’s “I CAN’T BELIEVE IT”
The 2pac jersey brought me here👍😎
if i could travel back in. time to the 90's this would be 1 game i would have wanted to see live or at least gotten a ticket for both team had so much talent even though duke was struggling without coach k, they still fought and never gave up. carolina was a great team and i think this is a fantastic rivalry. good luck to carolina and duke in their future games
Good old Billy Packer going right into WHY DIDN’T THEY FOUL URRRGGGHHHH instead of enjoying the moment, this is his legacy too
a far cry from Dickie V's 'I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'
He hated Duke IMHO and came up with the Bs Duke gets all the calls nonsense. His legacy.
I think I had a stroke that night.. Duke always exciting!
Had to watch this shot today
One of the greatest moment in sport
That was 10 feet inside of half court
that was not half court
So what? It was still a great shot.
BlackNGoldRules I am a UNC fan and I agree with you
Welcome to Pitt coach!
not so much now tbh
Doesn't mean all that much when your teams still loses.
I love watching that knowing that they still lose.
I love remembering how unc blew the biggest lead in the history of a finals last year
There couldn't have been an ACC Network back in 1995. So what network did this telecast air on with these announcers? I used to think ESPN had exclusive broadcast rights to this game but clearly not.
They always have a local broadcast as well. This must have been it.
Today we play carolina, TODAY DUKE BEATS carolina
Billy Packer...it wasn't a strategy to let him have the shot, it was exhaustion and mental mistake.
Going through my autographs, found a Jeff Capel autograph. I wonder if that is a collectable for Duke fans or has he been forgotten, even as a coach?
Doug Koehler that’s about to be a collectible for Pitt fans in a few years
Joe Schmo Lolllllllll
Capel was a Capable player, but I don't see him in any top 50 list at Duke. He's in the Top 100 most likely.
UNC still won
So what? It was still a great shot.
Welcome to pitt
Who won?
Caroline Wall UNC
Ben Smith I know that you fool, I was being sarcastic
Caroline Wall I’ll get you banned from UA-cam
@@VictorFernandezBigdestroyer can you stop with "I'll get you banned from UA-cam"
Big Time Aze No, and I’ll get you banned from UA-cam
