I think I have seen all your videos of Kyiv and just loved them. Well, I had the privilege of visiting Kyiv in late August 2018 and just fell in love with this city!!! I was so sad when I had to leave to come back to America, but this video brings back so many wonderful memories of this magnificent city. I grew up during the cold war era so was always used to seeing it as Kiev until it was pointed out to me by Ukrainians that "Kyiv" is what they now use since they gained Independence. If you go to Independence Square, there is a big sign there that says "I ♡ Kyiv". It is spelled KYIV, not KIEV. It has been pointed out to me by Ukrainians that they say Kyiv, not Kiev. I hear people say "the Ukraine", that's incorrect. It's just Ukraine. To use the word "the" before Ukraine (from what I've read) is offensive to Ukrainians. Ukraina is the old Slavic word for "borderland" and to use the "the" before Ukraine implies that Ukraine is just a part of Russia and not an Independent nation I use Kyiv to honor the people of Ukraine that want it called Kyiv. It is their country, an independent country and we should honor what they say is correct. If there are any Ukrainians reading this post, please correct me if I am wrong in anything I have written. И это естественно, ибо люди - часть природы, ее одухотворенное проявление. Люди Киева прекрасны, свежи, благородны, как и его природа. Это заметно невооруженным взглядом. И это завораживает....
И я люблю Киев! А еще я люблю Львов! И Днепр люблю! И село Мирное люблю,.. а какой там лес!,.. и мОре, мОре земляники и аисты там, на столбе, уже 100 лет живут... а может, даже 1000 лет, представляете! Там много берез. I am so excited, my flight to Kyiv leaves on 25 August 2019 out of Dulles International in DC and will land at Boryspil on 26 August. I can't believe I am returning to Kyiv and get to see it again!!!! It's only for a week, but hey, I'll take it. I'm going to love being back on Poshtava Square and just being there!!!!
