Persephone is one of my favorite Greek mythology characters. Right after Medusa and Artemis. I am obsessed with mythology and love these mythology videos your doing
Medusa is a character with a good backstory but she did betray the goddess she worshiped by Sleeping with Poseidon in her Temple though there is some confusion about her actually being assaulted by Poseidon that's not actually what happened she willingly did

i feel bad for persephone because she seems so controlled by her mom, demeter. i get demeter is looking out for persephone and not letting her get hurt, but let her have some freedom at least- persephone can love who she wants.

Hades isn’t actually bad, he’s probably the best gods out of all. If you think hades is bad to persephone. He sends her to Demeter, and he only gets 4 months with her, while Demeter gets the rest(which is why we get 8 months of fall, spring, and summer bc Demeter is happy to harvest bc her daughter is there). He also doesn’t cheat like *other* gods….(I’m talking about his..Brother….) and he even treats persephone good. Now, just bc he’s the god of the underworld blah blah yada yada. That doesn’t mean he’s BAD. Hercules (Yes the movie) just put him in a bad way. So, what was that about hades being bad? (Blow this up pls i need people reading this)
Right. He sent her back after he kidnapped her. It wasn't a good act, he was just barely making up for a bad one. Scratch that, his "getting 4 months with her" was against her will, and it means that he didn't even let her go. He did cheat, with Minthe, and he compelled Persephone using force to eat the seeds.
He’s basically an accountant. He is literally the most neutral god because he just houses the dead in his realm. Death will happen to everyone, hades just gets the realm because he essentially drew the short stick and didn’t want to fight his brothers’ egos when it came to their realms

This is absolutely amazing! Your talent is beyond great!!! I love Greek mythology, and this series! You know, I learned a different version that that persephone was sucked out of the ground into Hades world because of Hades love for Persephone, and wanted her for queen. Before that, Persephone and her mom demeanor had a very close relationship and when Demeter found out, she became cold like winter! Then, Zeus begged Demeter to bring spring again because there was no food. Demeter said she has no joy without her daughter persephone, so Zeus made a deal with Hades to have Persephone come out of the underworld half of the year, and go back for the other half. Demeter became happy and that’s how it became spring when persephone came up. And in the half where persephone was gone, Demeter became cold, like a winter. And I think that’s how the Roman’s “ thought “ we had seasons! I hope this made since 🤣 But I LOVE how you did it!

I have this desire to read all the Greek myths over again. I remember how much I loved it in my school times. You captured their emotions perfectly, I could almost feel Demeter's sadness coming through the screen. There is nothing much more powerfull than a mother's love ❤
I learned about this in school, I love learning about Gods and Goddesses. It’s just so mesmerizing, seeing/hearing the powers some of them hold. I just really hope we learn about Medusa. Her story and her herself really speaks out to me!!

Weird how I just finished a Disney twisted tale and it's what if Meg had to become a Greek God?? It really good and I recommend giving it a shot! Anyway so Persephone and Hades were in love and her mother Demeter was looking for her. Meg ran into Demeter when Demeter was planting flowers in the underworld and when Meg went back on her quest Hades caught her. When Hades was about to toss her into the fire pit, Persephone showed up and told him to stop. Then Hades told her who she really was and Persephone said to toss her into the fire but then Meg said, what if I can help you two stay together. Hades thought she was just stalling but Persephone wanted to give her a chance. So they made a deal with Hera. She spends half of the year on earth harvesting and garding and then she spends the other half either Hades. She will be the first ever God to travel back and forth between earth and the underworld. Demeter was upset that she was with Hercules but she was happy that she could see her daughter. Heads up Hades proposed to Persephone and she said yes.
I love this! But it’s really funny, how Hades does nothing but care for Persephone and Zeus like cheats on Hera. But Zeus is made King of the Gods and Hades is the outcast. 😂 Pleas make more content like this!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Hades wasn’t loyal, he cheated on Persephone with an nymph but he never SA anyone, it was mainly Zeus that wanted Hades to have children with Persephone, since Zeus tricked hades into kidnapping Persephone in the first place. So hades was more loyal than every god and goddess.

Fun Fact: The gods made a deal with Hades to let Persephone back with Demeter for half a year so she can create sunshine for crops. Demeter was very depressed her daughter (Persephone) went with Hades so the gods made a deal with Hades Just wanted to be helpful 💜😁
It wasn't the gods, they didn't care, it was Hades who noticed the sadness of his wife and his mother in-law so he made the deal with Demeter, it might not seem like this but Hades is the only good husband among the gods, and he cares for his wife a lot, the literlly have the best relationship husband-wife in Greek mitology

Well her mom also lied to her, also she keep her in her world like a prisioner, which was uncomfortable for her because her mom wanted and almost push her to be the god of spring wich she did not want to, so bascially I can understand why she did that. ✨💅

The hymn was supposed to be a beacon of hope to women in the ancient times have their daughters taken from them for forced marriages and stated that when hermes found persephone trapped in the underworld that she longed to be with her mother instead of with hades :(

Persephone, was forced from her own cravings to return to the underworld every winter, where Demeter would bring the world into a cold, lifeless season as her daughter was trapped down below...

For those who don’t know the story here it is! So basically Persephone is Demeters daughter and hades is the god of the underworld. Demeter is the goddess of I think it’s the land or smth idk. One day Hades fell in love with Persephone and basically kidnapped her and took her to the underworld: Demeter was in tears and asked Zeus for help. Zeus asked for Persephone back and Hades agreed as long and she doesn’t eat anything.. However Persephone was so happy that she accidentally ate 6 pomegranate seeds and because she ate something she had to stay there forever. Zeus made a deal with Hades which was taht for half of the year Persephone would stay in the underworld and for the other half she would stay up on the land. People believe taht this is how the seasons were made cus while she was in the underworld it was autumn and winter and while she was with her mother on land it was spring and summer! Sorry for the long paragraph but I hope it helped!

Didnt Hades kidnap Persephone and then she accidentally ate 1/4 of a pomegranate so Persephone spends one month in the under world and while she is there Demeter is mad so she makes that one month winter. My point is doesn’t Persephone not like it there but by eating the pomegranate she has to stay there. I THINK that is what happened
So you're kind of right on that, Persephone actually quite likes it down in the underworld she eventually gets used to it and sees how loving and caring Hades is. He's actually one of most loyal God other than Hera,and he is a great guy. Persephone eventually sees this in him and quite enjoys staying down there, but in the movies they make him out as such a bad guy when he isn't. But the pomegranate and the staying down there for 1 month is right! And Demeter is really mad about her daughter going down there and staying down there, so you were right on that too! I hope this makes sense in a way to you? And I'm not trying to be rude or anything it's just a few things you were slightly off about and I wanted to inform you.Sorry if I come off rude about this!

For people who don’t know the story of Persephone (the goddess of spring), Demeter (the goddess of harvest) was her mom. Hades longed for Persephone and one day kidnapped her and brought her to the underworld. He kept her there for a while so she got hungry and ate 5 pomegranate seeds. Demeter found out that Persephone had been kidnapped and went to save her. But Hades told her about how Persephone had eaten his pomegranate seeds. In the end they decided that Persephone had to stay with Hades during five months of the year. Since Persephone is gone during those five months, she can’t keep it warm and flourishing that is why it is cold in the winter.

For those who don’t know the story here it is! So basically Persephone is Demeters daughter and hades is the god of the underworld. Demeter is the goddess of I think it’s the land or smth idk. One day Hades fell in love with Persephone and basically kidnapped her and took her to the underworld: Demeter was in tears and asked Zeus for help. Zeus asked for Persephone back and Hades agreed as long and she doesn’t eat anything.. However Persephone was so happy that she accidentally ate 6 pomegranate seeds and because she ate something she had to stay there forever. Zeus made a deal with Hades which was taht for half of the year Persephone would stay in the underworld and for the other half she would stay up on the land. People believe taht this is how the seasons were made cus while she was in the underworld it was autumn and winter and while she was with her mother on land it was spring and summer! Sorry for the long paragraph but I hope it helped!

Didnt Hades kidnap Persephone and then she accidentally ate 1/4 of a pomegranate so Persephone spends one month in the under world and while she is there Demeter is mad so she makes that one month winter. My point is doesn’t Persephone not like it there but by eating the pomegranate she has to stay there. I THINK that is what happened
So you're kind of right on that, Persephone actually quite likes it down in the underworld she eventually gets used to it and sees how loving and caring Hades is. He's actually one of most loyal God other than Hera,and he is a great guy. Persephone eventually sees this in him and quite enjoys staying down there, but in the movies they make him out as such a bad guy when he isn't. But the pomegranate and the staying down there for 1 month is right! And Demeter is really mad about her daughter going down there and staying down there, so you were right on that too! I hope this makes sense in a way to you? And I'm not trying to be rude or anything it's just a few things you were slightly off about and I wanted to inform you.Sorry if I come off rude about this!
Actually, Persephone does end up loving Hades and they have the healthiest relationship in Greek mythology

For people who don’t know the story of Persephone (the goddess of spring), Demeter (the goddess of harvest) was her mom. Hades longed for Persephone and one day kidnapped her and brought her to the underworld. He kept her there for a while so she got hungry and ate 5 pomegranate seeds. Demeter found out that Persephone had been kidnapped and went to save her. But Hades told her about how Persephone had eaten his pomegranate seeds. In the end they decided that Persephone had to stay with Hades during five months of the year. Since Persephone is gone during those five months, she can’t keep it warm and flourishing that is why it is cold in the winter.
