That was a great lesson on such an important cool guitar player. Johnny was probably the best original Punk guitar player.....and that is saying a lot.
Hi Adrian im struggling with drug issues at the the moment but your guitar lessons are keeping me going , thanks for all your hard work you are an inspiration to get better
Hey, hang in there. It can be hard to shake that stuff. But yes it can be done, and yes, music is one of the great things out there that can really help. There are a lot of great things in the world and a lot of really excellent people who will help to fill up that hole.
Stay strong brother. I used to be a huge wreck and with the help of narcotics anonymous and a busy bike courier job and playing guitar and skateboarding I've let every mood and mind altering substance leave my life for awhile now
(3 years too late?) Take up some form of hard martial arts, kickboxing, kung fu, BJJ or something. Straightened me up in a hurry back in the 80s starting around age 35, still doing it in my 60s. Just make sure to stretch a lot to avoid injuries. Of course Johnny Thunders himself was tragically known as quite a narcotics enthusiast, which led to his early demise.
Johnny Thunders has been my hero since i was only 12 ive been to many of his shows i was too young to ever go to The Heartbreakers era shows i saw reunions and him solo he was great i had gotten so sad when my friend said he died in Louisiana. May his soul rest in peace
OMG!!! WOW! Adrian, you are just a treasure trove of hipness. I actually saw him in NYC many many years ago, he did this song and I bought the Live at Max's Kansas City album. I still have it. It's beat to hell but if you'd like to have it, I'd be happy to make a present of it to you, as a big thank you for all your work here.
This was the song that my first band opened our first ever gig with in 1982. So many memories, havent heard this in years. We did one track mind also on that set, another great Thunders song
@@davehc1966 Sorry. I saw you mentioned last week. Sad sad sad. Those guys were a huge part of my musical life. Especially Billy. My best friend since 1970. Walter was a great guy, player and song writer. Theyre all gone now. Im on empty. Thanks for telling me
Would you ever consider doing a lesson on Personality Crisis by the New York Dolls (particularly the intro)? I've found some tabs but it always sounds wrong when I do it so seeing a visual of what to do would be really helpful!
A friend and myself were once sent on a mission to find scaffold boards to build a crucifix for Johnny Thunders, old Irish fella in builders yard asked us why then refused to sell us some so Johnny went on stage without one in the end.True story.
Effin rock n roll. So easy but so awesome. I loved Thunders. If you just want one record buy "Panic On Sunset Strip" Great live album. Great little lesson. Perfect!
Great lesson Adrian, any chance you would do an in depth lesson on any of the tracks on the first dolls album, can’t seem to find any decent ones on UA-cam, much appreciated!!!
great tutorial i'm struggling with the bend part , ive short fingers and bending the whole 3 strings including the double stop B , practice i guess is the answer you will tell me
As him being my uncle John my mom's brother. And my god father l own his last Les Paul .and it's a1960 p90 pick up & grover tuners. The 59 was stolen in Detroit. & His Dan Armstrong was stolen but showed up in Seattle. But my family couldn't do anything about it.😥😡😡
You are a fantastic guitar player and teacher as well but this is a horrible version of a classic surf tune. Its like making a heavy metal version of Fleetwood Mac songs. Dick Dale and Stevie Ray Vaughn made a terrific version of pipeline. I'd love to see that one instead. Still loving your videos my friend.

Hard to moderate a dope habit though. Heroin isn't something you pick up and put down once your hooked@charlesartz1678
i love the simplicity and ingenuity

Awesome--I've been working in this myself for a few months, and got the gist of it, but this helps a lot. Thanks!

Brilliant mate.. Gotta love Johnny
Great lesson- classic song- killer rendition!
Never heard this version, brilliant twist
Check out Johnny thunders heartbreakers. You should enjoy. L.a.m.f
Fantastic !
Twin reverb, everything turned up to 10. Including the reverb. Johnny's tone in a nutshell.
Great guitar sound!
And i thought you have a parrot behind you. :)
Any chance of some Echo & The Bunnymen or Talking Heads lessons?
Nice Johnny impression!
This is great! Cheers!
You’re the man !
Very nice Les Paul! Congratulations!
A little Johnny Thunders eh?? Great to see after seeing your Chinese Rocks lesson. Gibson just made a Les Paul special. I want one BAD.
Whoa! Nice guitar Adrian!
That darn cat!!!! Thanks for sharing!
That shirt alone makes you a bad ass
Effin rock n roll. So easy but so awesome. I loved Thunders. If you just want one record buy "Panic On Sunset Strip" Great live album. Great little lesson. Perfect!
i think Chuck said he lifted that bending
riff from Charlie Christian from Benny Goodman. Cool music is always older than you think it seems!

About time you broke out the Les Paul, Adrian! Lol, great lesson, Thanks!

Gotta do some Heartbreakers stuff or even throw in some New York Dolls stuff

Wrong guitar though, but Johnny's tone is almost impossible to recreate... he played a Junior 59 with p90, but I'm sure you know this...
Thunders version is the best.
