Recorded LIVE from Sarratt Cinema at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN during Meloroo 2023, the Vanderbilt Melodores present Saiyyan (originally performed by Kailash Kher)!
During our last Spring Break, we had the privilege to travel to India and Taiwan as part of an international tour where we sold out three shows in Mumbai and Bangalore. We figured that we would add a Hindi song to our setlist before the tour, and we landed on Saiyyan by Kailash Kher. As we continued to perform it throughout the tour, the song came to represent the indescribable experience of falling in love with new cultures through immersion and connection through music. This video is a tribute to the countries and people that graciously hosted us for 10 days last spring.
