I just found a chipmunk tunnel in my property, the thing is, it is on the side of my drive way and its made in garnet and i learned that their tunnel can be 2-3 feet deep and 20-30 feet long and goes under my asphalt Could it cause problem to my asphalt driveway?
@@CultureHeritageMuseums its gonna be even worst since there was à Storm yesterday and their tunnel entrance collapsed and everything is probably flooded
My property is overrun with chipmunks. Two years ago I suspect they chewed wires in my car and I was stuck with almost 1,000 in damages. Just recently I did all this work to make a pond and these chipmunks burrowed under it and bit a hole in the pond liner 🤬 Can they ruin foundations with their digging?
Hi PNV, sorry to hear you've had trouble with chipmunks! They can cause damage to a foundation, especially if there are a large number of chipmunks. Best of luck!
I got an infestation at my house every 2 feet is a hole they go under my hoods in both my cars and try and make nest sometimes they get in the passenger area
I just trapped one today and released it 5 miles away. Hope to get more tomorrow. I hate to do it, but if they come back again I will have to resort to a more permanent solution, a 5 gallon bucket with water and sunflower seeds scattered on top. They are burrowing under the cement slab garage floor and the floor is starting to crack. They are cute critters but destruction of my property doesn’t sit well with me.
We literally just trapped three chipmunks in the span of a couple hours using the bucket trick. But we were watching, so we fished out each and dropped them off a couple miles away.
I mean it's not like they're breaking into your house.... They live outside it's just as much of their territory as yours. Like once an animal breaks into the house then all bets are off, if you need to use fatal force. But it's digging holes in the yard... Honestly it probably does more good for the soil than harm. It's important part of the ecosystem and if every human just refused to tolerate it we'd have a major problem.
@@michael_c2 Not breaking into the house yet, but they tunneled under my cement garage slab and the floor is starting to crack because the ground beneath it gave way, now that is a problem. What you do with your property is your business, you can let them stay on your property and wreak havoc if you wish.
I love this video! Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it!
I agree, I love this!
@@NicoleMichelChannel Thanks Nicole!

Yes, unfortunately it could cause rises in the asphalt.

@@CultureHeritageMuseums Thank you and thanks for all the great information.

How did it go with the chipmunks?
Sure it's not a mouse problem... Mice routinely create nest inside automobiles. Chipmunks are always underground.

This is literally the same music in the backround of my 1999 Tarzan nintendo game.. 🤔😂
It’s actually from the copyright free music on iMovie lol Great nature-y soundtrack!
Sweet
This guy hasn’t seen any of the chipmunk trap videos on UA-cam lol

Using the bucket method now, feel guilty because I love animals including my 2 dogs😊, but the last three days I've gotten 11 & hopefully not many more
I have a back and front yard full of them. I've been trying to catch them and release them somewhere else .....but u have failed.
