Yeah the schedule needs to be mixed up. How many rained out events have we had in the last 2 decades in texas? I got an idea! Lets schedule a texas event in the middle of their rainy season!
Just 2 months later and West Nile virus is making the news in Texas and Chicago. Lets see if mosquito bite weird nerve damage becomes a thing that has to be scheduled around.
They need to change it to a different time in texas. Its so rainy during that time. Later in the summer or early
Major league paintball needs texas! Maybe just no events during tornado season.
I’m sure there is a “playing favorites” contingent if all the events were played at existing fields. A whole bunch of back scratching… maybe some spreading of the wealth with other local fields and have them get in on the action (busing non-participants to play at the other fields, free advertising, their refs working and wearing their field’s jersey, etc) would be a possibility
NXL Texas was fine. It's not like the players played through the hurricane... after the rain passed the event resumed.
Paintball is a outdoor game just like other outdoor sports, you need to adapt to the elements.
Do NFL players want to play in Green Bay or Buffalo during December? Probably not but it's part of the sport.

Gotta have one of these events every few years though. Everyone still talks about the one Mardi Gras event without saying a year or series that it was played it. It just looked cool.
if only there was a place where weather is super consistently dry and predictable and paintball is super popular. :cough: socal :cough: not that dynasty needs home court advantage too.
It was bad muddy/rainy but they should just change the date a little bit - we cant control the weather here in TX 😭 LOL Fit would be a good place to have NXL though for sure
Where is everyone supposed to park at fit? Not enough vendor space. Either.
The top 7-10 ideal condition states to start for building NXL purpose stadiums. Would be amazing.
Grow more as time goes. And in harsher conditions places, be indoor layouts
@TheMindUnlocked I mean whenever you come around the money to build stadiums (because you will have to host no less than 9 fields) purposefully just for paintball, combined with the amount of parking you need, you go on ahead and do that 5 times over for the amount of events in a year... even the NXL isn't making that much money that they aren't telling us about. The idea is fine but money and logistics talk. The NXL isn't a regional event you can cram 3 fields into an area, expect only about 200 cars, and call it a good weekend, people are there Thursday-Monday, hell a whole week come cup. Look up what it costs to build stadiums and that'll give you an idea of what you're trying to do. By far it is cheaper just to rent out or buy a certain property and just setup temporary locations instead of maintenance on a place year round for a place that gets business for one weekend of the year.
@@Paintballpro18 if NXL and MLPB are serious to help grow the sport thats whats needed. Not to worry about now costs but to build for better future and returns and a more solid trajectory being built
Wouldnt be for one weekend of the year either if they do professional stadiums theyll be used for practicing off seasons; multiple events possibly too beyond just the few may have now too. Make more weekends of events…
Also rent out for pro/divisional practices would help keep the lights on in between and only support the sport.
They have to cater to that market if they aren't going to have a CA event or if Vegas doesn't become a regular event.
Frankly they are completely Fing up as World Cup should be Vegas and there should be a CA event. Texas will come here.
That thing about how NXL trucks are a carnival they need to keep cheap and on schedule is amusing.
Calling AZ, NM, and by extension Utah the fringe states wouldn't be incorrect. It's just alienating the players they can't properly monetize. Guess leave that to Hinman to mine.
Just leave the old PSP calendar alone until the weather causes something serious. As long as the top Pro teams are happy it's obviously all that matters.
They need to set the schedule up to account for seasonal weather patterns. Same for some of the Big games like Supergame Oregon.

If only the ICPL was held in St Louis like planned but people fucked that all up.
Maybe they should do a indoor field if they want to stay in TX.
I get why going to Texas is a must. Lots of teams, players and talent. I just wish Tom would break out a farmers almanac lol

I could imagine how pissed field owners in Texas would be after the no 2025 announcement. Pour $ into your operation, have a bunch of hyper with 2 semi pro teams getting brought up for 2024. Then BS happens.
Go back to Phoenix IMO
Or allow for extra days if need be
