My dad has multiple myeloma stage three. He was diagnosed in 2009 and given months to live as it was too advanced to treat. His bones were very porous and he lost the use of his right arm as the cancer ate his shoulder joint. He defied the odds and gained the use of his arm out of the blue one day, he continued to improve despite his prognosis. He kept fighting without treatment until he was well enough for a stem cell replacement. The procedure was a complete success and We'll be marking ten years cancer free next January and we can't wait!! Every day I just think to myself “Emily gets up and goes to the gym every day and she has cancer... I have one little made up thing in my head, not even my body, and I “can’t” do things”. The only thing I look forward to right now in my life is an Emily update! - I get a boost seeing her so well and just nailing life like a boss and then I dance round my kitchen and I look at the world differently and I feel what it's like to dig deep and find empowerment after a long time self isolating due to depression - I'm not gonna be eating kiwi skins though ;D xx
Something you and aisha said really affected me that it's not the years I up u live that counts but the quality of the life you have. Someone could live miserably to the age of 102 and had a horrible life or live to 30 but of filled life with the best experiences and loved the most amazing people and been loved by them in return and the quality of the years is really what matters emily it really is. You've made me realise that and that cancer and any other illness or an accident even can happen to anyone at any time in our lives so we need live our lives to the best every day and every minute, I'm a mum and it's made me value my life and my children so much more thinking like that, I want everyday with my family and friends to be a happy day and the people I love to know that I love them from the bottom of my heart so thank you so much for touching so many people by sharing your precious beautiful life with us emily. You are a ... i don't even know. a wizard or something. You are so amazingly strong and positive. I'm sure you have your moments of weakness, but your ability to still stay strong is so inspiring. Every time I'm feeling at my worst, or feeling like I shouldn't be alive I always watch your videos to humble me, smack me with a sense of reality. All with out trying to devalue or deemphasize the fact that mental illness is still a condition of it's own that needs to be conquered. I was raised with the idea if "you are not dying of cancer then suck it up" but as an adult (I'm almost 27 now) BPD, PTSD, Anxiety and depression seem to have taken over my life in a way I never knew was possible. It feels ridiculous trying to talk to friends or others about it now that it's gotten this bad, when I just don't feel like I can relate to anyone anymore. And it makes me feel stupid whenever I have dissociation periods or .. just whatever. Sometimes it makes me feel like this crazy person that just .. idk. I feel like one of those people you seein documentaries because of how unreal it all seems. I never knew it was possible for a person to experience this much anguish without some sort of obvious physical impairment. Sometimes I just feel so ashamed of myself for feeling this way. i don't know where i'm going with this. I just want to thank you for being so positive and making these videos. It always humbles me so much and helps me "snap" back into this sense of reality that these "problems" i experience can be fixed, and are only going to effect me as much as I am not willing to fight back. Even thought fighting back feels like it takes everything out of me. The last few days have been particularly rough. But your videos really help me get through any episodes I might be having. It feels stupid to complain about something so small that's basically only in my head. All i want so badly is to just be able to shower, sleep, eat, and live like a normal human being. Sometimes I just feel so ashamed that I "cant" do these simple things. I find that you help inspire me to push myself. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us, it has definitely created a positive impact on my life I cant even fully express.

I look for your videos every morning, on my iPad just to see you and Aisha!! Y’all are 2 very special ppl and you just make me want to get up off my ass and live life again. I lost my son last Sept. to drugs and I have been just in a dark hole but when I watch you and Aisha, your love and outlook on life truly makes me feel so much better Emily. Thank You!! 🙏🏻. You are a ... i don't even know. a wizard or something. You are so amazingly strong and positive. I'm sure you have your moments of weakness, but your ability to still stay strong is so inspiring. Every time I'm feeling at my worst, or feeling like I shouldn't be alive I always watch your videos to humble me, smack me with a sense of reality. All with out trying to devalue or deemphasize the fact that mental illness is still a condition of it's own that needs to be conquered. I was raised with the idea if "you are not dying of cancer then suck it up" but as an adult (I'm almost 27 now) BPD, PTSD, Anxiety and depression seem to have taken over my life in a way I never knew was possible. It feels ridiculous trying to talk to friends or others about it now that it's gotten this bad, when I just don't feel like I can relate to anyone anymore. And it makes me feel stupid whenever I have dissociation periods or .. just whatever. Sometimes it makes me feel like this crazy person that just .. idk. I feel like one of those people you seein documentaries because of how unreal it all seems. I never knew it was possible for a person to experience this much anguish without some sort of obvious physical impairment. Sometimes I just feel so ashamed of myself for feeling this way.
i don't know where i'm going with this. I just want to thank you for being so positive and making these videos. It always humbles me so much and helps me "snap" back into this sense of reality that these "problems" i experience can be fixed, and are only going to effect me as much as I am not willing to fight back. Even thought fighting back feels like it takes everything out of me. The last few days have been particularly rough. But your videos really help me get through any episodes I might be having. It feels stupid to complain about something so small that's basically only in my head. All i want so badly is to just be able to shower, sleep, eat, and live like a normal human being. Sometimes I just feel so ashamed that I "cant" do these simple things. I find that you help inspire me to push myself. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us, it has definitely created a positive impact on my life I cant even fully express.
