A lot of people talk about missing Alex in the band, but I really miss Michael Stafford's guitar work on the first EP and first two albums. Something about his playing and those early riffs are why they were my favorite band a decade ago

This is one of the best live videos I think I’ve ever seen for deathcore. The intro walk up got me hyped, the angles were fantastic throughout, the sound was solid and not muddy, absolutely wonderful job. CaliberTV out here shooting bangers

@@StorckOnBass it was deathcore in 2010. But with how far the deathcore genre has been pushed through the last decade, it doesn’t hold up for metalcore now. A7X was metalcore once upon a time, but Waking The Fallen doesn’t hold up for metalcore in 2010 let alone 2022. It doesn’t meet the new standard that deathcore is now to be metalcore in 2022.
@@kodyepidemic but this isn't a new song. 2010 deathcore is still deathcore even if the genre is different today. A7X is a bad example because they literally changed genres from metalcore to just metal

Holy shit that was satisfying to watch. I was unaware of the vocalist changing and damn did he come in clutch with this performance. The production of the video, the live sound, and just the pure swagger of band; made me nostalgic for that late 2000s deathcore era sound that CG were part of \m/

There higher than you think they just sound low (most of his lows) i can kinda do them but i couldn't explain them. But I agree
If you can do a standard false chord growl, he basically slows down the distortion rattle of it by "pushing" out his airflow slower. So instead of it being a more sand like texture to the tone it's closer to gravel. Hard to explain without examples, but I think Mark at Kardavox academy had a decent explanation of it on one of his videos covering Tom's other band he's in: Darko Us.
Ryan Kirby occasionally gets that throaty sound in my opinion
It's some kind of a fry lows (fry screams but with 'O'/smaller mouth shape). I did attempt to mimic it in my CG & Darko vocal covers.

@@jdjdjdjjc6535 definitely on the quiet side for sure. He's good n all but same with dude from Enterprise Earth. They're both super consistent, but it's too relaxed imo. Their style is "safer" but they rely too much on the mic and amps. You can alway tell by the way they do a mic check.

Seen Chelsea back in 2014, they played nightmares, the foolish one, and a bunch of other good ones. Out standing and have been my number one favorite deathcore band of em all. Always been top tear with suicide silence and those guys. One of the best bands to ever do it hands down.

the quality of these videos is insane - sounds soooo good.
This has to be the best performance of Recreant that I've seen in a live video. Like, the audio engineering is immaculate. You can hear the heaviness of the chunky guitars and bass, you can feel the vibration of the monster who's on the drums (I actually don't know who's drumming for them right now but he is fucking top tier dude). Every drum fill was perfectly placed and to put the icing on the cake, Tom's vocals are at the peak of song. His vocals are fucking wretched in the best way possible and also he can do a lot of different vocal styles.
I think right now, is probably their best lineup that they've had in a really long time. Don't get me wrong, I liked Alex as a vocalist and Pablo as a drummer but I think this was the most put together version of this song live that I've heard. Period. I've seen them live 3 or 4 times now and they NEVER disappoint!

Why does everyone think newer = better. The OG record wasn’t overproduced the guitar tone was loud rich and full of mids, it was UNIQUE it didn’t sound like other deathcore bands. Leave it be.

I'm not saying the old one's bad, but I think it would be a fun little release while they wait for the album
That and metal is more open to electronic sounds and weird guitar noises now. Not having that massive bass drop and all the harmonic pick scrapes really makes the original not hit nearly as hard.
@@FormaAlert it’s all bells and whistles. The meat and potatoes of any metal genre is the guitar tone. The old Desolation of Eden tone was thick, full of mid, really great especially for a deathcore band. Doesn’t need changing
@@theabsolute23 I just saw them live and they are without a doubt, way better sounding now. Guitars are cleaner, vocals are better, tone is heavier. The air was literally being displaced around me during the breakdowns, they are unreal heavy right now.
