I think a lot of people don't realize how much effort it requires to produce a few seconds of a vid: composing the scene, positioning the camera, filming the scene, checking the result, redoing it several times, transferring the vid to your laptop, reviewing the shots, selecting the clips, cropping, enhancing, assembling, adding the sound track... Not to mention a scene filming the truck passing by the camera: walk 100 ft, position the camera, walk back to the truck, etc... You should do a "making of" vid to help people understand how heavy this process is. Most people see 5 minutes of a vid and think it took 5 minutes to shoot it 😂
@@marysaade4343 for some channels this is a full time job. Other channels has full time jobs and only does UA-cam videos for a hobby. I can see Nikki doing it to help feel a sense of community she lacks for being on the road so much.

Not sure if this was mentioned before. I’m an over the road truck driver. We daily do a pre trip(check oil, tire pressures, tires etc) now that you’re driving a diesel full time. Checking oil at least every other day, and other fluids also. Diesels( old and new) will burn a little oil. Great video…..

Life lesson #2, When you get your new van, get a quart of oil to have if needed. This is important as your van might need a special type that won't be at every stop.
I can completely relate to wanting to do a hike twice, once for the video and once for yourself. When I went on a cross-country adventure by car many years ago, I took a lot of photos and shot a lot of video, all for myself because there was no UA-cam back then. But I found that this took away from my ability to enjoy the scenery and sights of wherever I visited (which included Moab and Arches and the surrounding region and national parks). So I made sure to put the cameras down and just enjoy being wherever I was, and took mental pictures that in many ways were more memorable than the physical ones I took and still have. We all enjoy watching your videos and adventures, but it's important that you enjoy them as well. 😊
I love that you took the time to hike without the camera for your own enjoyment! Makes sense you lose some of that when working. Love your content Nikki!
If you google it, you may find a way to clear the codes. Some vehicles are just turning the key back and forth a few times without starting it. Of course, it's a Mercedes, so it may be more complicated. Happy journey. Sending good vibes from BC Canada.

Yep, pass me! That's what I tell other drivers when I'm going down hills on the 18-wheeler I drive. I just don't wanna go at 65mph when going downhill on those windy roads.
Hi Nikki, THanks for sharing your inspiring adventures! You and Camper seem to have the best time and the best attitude even in the face of complications! Love you both, stay safe and we look forward to your next adventures! ps wow, both those places seemed amazing, especially the Utah warmth climbs :)
Nikki, If the CEL is on,no worries. If the CEL starts blinking, then time to worry, Probably the code reader you have will not read MB 'modules' very well, even though the scanner will see what model of MB you are driving. That is a pretty nice reader for handheld. The CEL could be illuminated for something as simple as gas cap not tight. Thought ,If you haven't had your current code reader very long, you could send it back, and do some Googling for MB specific forums and see what people there suggests for a code reader model.
Hello Fellow Sprinter owner here The MB Sprinter chassis can be hard to live with as there are so many bells and whistles But, when everything is working they are really nice I have never had a low oil warning...that is potentially bad news, hope adding that one quart did the job I always carry one spare quart just in case Have a great week
Yes, I believe that vehicles drive up those trails outside Moab. Look up the videos about trail mater, based in Moab, and you'll see loads of offroad stuff. However, there's a part of me that's glad that the area is so vast that it's easy to get away from vehicles.
Watching your latest video (uploaded about an hour ago -UA-cam says) - and you had “oil” problem. Word of advice (learned this working for the US Navy years ago) - BLOWBAG and it stands for Battery, Lights, OIL, Water, Brakes, Air and most important of all .. Gas Safe trip my fav nomad .. and maybe next time - your own brand new van .. 👍
@@masewoods8337 I think there is more there than that. I have never seen a dog who stares at a single thing for so long and with such apparent understanding. Camper is very intelligent!
Alright, its another Friday outdoor adventure with Camper and Nikki....Yay !! And it sounds as if mom has had her fill and is in no hurry to do any camping/vanlife for a while. Yeah, the key has to be at the on position in order for the code reader to work. And it always feels good when you can solve your own car problems !! Well, that van has all the conveniences of an RV, so I can understand why you like 'living in a van'. Take care and may the golden buddha dog guide you safely to your next destination....travel on !!
Man ole man. I love watching you enjoy life so much!!! Your videos help me through the grind of a work week. I hope someday when I retire I can live out my days in the Adirondacks with my dogs in a cabin!!! Keep the content coming!!! Enjoy every minute!!!
Sometimes when you add the gas it will cause a light to come on if you don’t get the gas cap fully in place. Air somehow makes it go off or something. When I’ve tightened mine it has worked for me when nothing else seems obvious!
Well, you've 100% convinced me that Sprinters are not worth the money. I have a 1997 GMC Safari that runs better than that thing and it only cost me $2000 and a few thousand more to get it super reliable. Even at $10K all-in, I save $120,000😆
Agreed! Mercedes aren’t cheap but given the quality isn’t there it’s definitely not worth it. MBZ should wake up because this isn’t good advertising for them.
@@Kat-n-Ollie It’s not MBZ’ fault Nikki drove without checking the oil… anybody that drives any longer distance, regardless living on the road or not, should ALWAYS check the oil before a trip…
@@Kat-n-Ollie Nikki's brand new van had a engine light right from the start - the dealership told her they could not guarantee this wouldn't happen again. WTH? Then, she drives it to her place to transfer belongings and it's clear that the driver side fog light was out. Brand new van. I hope she has better luck with this new van she will be picking up but won't be holding my breath.
Always enjoyable watching you and camper😁 Good to see you have a scan tool! Was planning to suggest this. Just a funny thing to check if your not aware? Make sure your gas cap is tight and doesn't have a issue? These will cause a code issue since the fuel system is pressurized in most vehicles. You'd be surprised how many people have paid $70.00 or more for a shop scan to find this out.🤣😂🤣😂 Safe travels for both of you & looking forward to your future videos.😘
I freaking love this channel. I've been a weekly watcher for at least a year or two and I always look forward to every video. I'm not even 100% sure what my favorite part is, I enjoy the positive energy that comes from the videos. Because I'm not just here for #vanlife or travel, I would follow even if you bought a house and stopped living in a van and traveling as much. Its the camaraderie, the light hearted direction of each video, the smiles and laughter, the respectful and positive attitudes, the adventure of it all with the ups and authentic downs. I guess you are just so good at conveying joy on camera that it's healing to watch which works weather you're house sitting, sleeping in a parking lot or hiking to a mountain peak. You put a lot more work into this channel than anyone realizes and I guess I'm just saying thank you and that I get a lot of value out of the hard work you've put into these videos. Cheers! 🍻
Despite the check engine light, there could be a multitude of issues, like a low battery, causes enunciation light display. Sometimes the issue corrects itself. My 3500 Sprinter has been excellent since November 2011.
6:45 - The lights on the dash are color coded for a reason. Green is information. Yellow is a warning. Red is stop and address immediately. This is why the battery, oil pressure, and parking brake light on the dash are all red. The exception is if the CEL is flashing. If one continues to drive, it likely means it will damage something. That something is almost always a catalytic converter. Most check engine lights are emissions related. They can be ignored as it doesn't affect reliability of the drivetrain, but the car may pollute a little bit more. Hope this helps!
Everybody has already said it, but I will too!! You are amazing and thank you for taking us along on the adventures of Nikki and Camper!!! You are loved and appreciated ❤❤❤

I just got back from 42 days, 3,000 mile journey in my ambulance build 🚑. At the end I developed a oil leak in my 7.3L Diesel engine 😮. Very stressful when there's any system failures. It's best to be like Nikki and just make the most of the situation 🎉😊 Cheers ❤🐾❤🐾
I’ve done tons of very fun and very heart stopping trails in Moab. I miss it when im home and when Im there I always say to myself “why am I on Poison Spider or Steel Bender or Hells Revenge.”
I drive a diesel campervan in Europe and was so confused when you showed how to add antigel to your diesel, because I had never heard of that. A little googling has cleared it up: In Europe the additive is already in the diesel when you buy it a the gas station in winter. It gets added either at the station or at the refinery.

I feel ya on fuel prices. my f250 has a 60 gallon tank. need a small loan every time I hit the pump. but it pulls our 5th wheel like a dream so I cry a little at the pump and move on. safe travels.
Plug in scanner. Push start button without pressing brake pedal to the "on" position. Scan, Google code, erase code to remove engine light. Code will be stored in the long term memory for mechanics.
Diesels always get Check engine lights for the simplest things, DEF liquid low, a moment in time where the engine detected a lean condition and it was enough to throw the light , Fuel cap not venting correctly or loose, or when the engine sits for prolong time without it running, altitude change.. etc.. aslong as it’s not flashing it’s minor. Don’t ignore it just it’s not a huge deal.
Love seeing your adventures with Camper! You’ve got someone on this video trying to farm subs by replying with a telegram link just in case you haven’t seen it yet…!
Sometimes you can get a check engine light from a fuel stop. What happens is the gas cap doesn't seal right and the fuel system doesn't like it. The simplest "fix" is to try your gas cap. See if it is loose. Most gasoline vehicles cap will click when they are tight. Once you hear the click stop. The cap can be damaged if you turn it too much.
Yes. A wonderful thing - a van. But still, the best motorhome is a huge American truck with a body with a carrying capacity of 50 - 70 tons. So 3 by 10 meters! This is a real house on wheels! :)
Thanks again for bringing us along for the travel and experiences. I totally agree with so many of the other subscribers who acknowledge all the time & effort it takes to make videos. That doesn't even take into account that you are constantly "working" while you are hiking, swimming, exploring, etc, not just when you are sitting at your laptop uploading, editing, etc. Oh, and if you ever have free time (lol), you should publish/sell a cookbook of all your meals that you seemingly just throw together. I am a huge meat person (trying to cut back), but I find myself salivating at the results of many of your one-pot veggie based concoctions. Several times I have set the video at lowest speed to analyze write down what I think you have used. :) Hugs to you and sweet Camper!
Most people see 5 minutes of a vid and think it took 5 minutes to shoot it 😂
I love that idea! Imagine that camera set up 😂😂😂 and thank you for noticing the time and effort that goes into each video ❤️❤️❤️
Oh gosh Nikki! I hope you can get to that sometime. Maybe bloopers too😂

Wonderful vid. Can’t wait until you pick up your new van. Times has gone by so fast. Glad you’re still loving your nomadic lifestyle. I like the way you take things in stride. It’s a great quality. ❤❤
Thanks to gorgeous camper ❤ ♥ 💓 💖
So happy that your van is ready!!! Can't wait to see how you customized it!! By the way nice shot with the empty oil bottle! 🙌
Love yours and Camper's adventures! Be safe and keep them coming!
Hello
Fellow Sprinter owner here
The MB Sprinter chassis can be hard to live with as there are so many bells and whistles
But, when everything is working they are really nice
I have never had a low oil warning...that is potentially bad news, hope adding that one quart did the job
I always carry one spare quart just in case
Have a great week
I’m so excited for you to get your van!! I can’t wait to see what it looks like. ✌🏻
I am always captivated by your adventures and your grace under pressure. Thankful for Camper to keep you company.
The check engine is usually an innocuous warning and Not to be alarmed. If it feels okay, it starts, and stops normally, dont swet it Nikki.
Nikki thanks for sharing your beautiful adventures. Wishing you and Camper safe travels. ❤ NewJersey❤
Yes, I believe that vehicles drive up those trails outside Moab. Look up the videos about trail mater, based in Moab, and you'll see loads of offroad stuff. However, there's a part of me that's glad that the area is so vast that it's easy to get away from vehicles.
I'm passed the 1.5year mark of Living in my Prius. 🤠🤙 Thanks for all the motivation. Good luck in your new van.
Honestly that sounds like hell.
Watching your latest video (uploaded about an hour ago -UA-cam says) - and you had “oil” problem. Word of advice (learned this working for the US Navy years ago) -
BLOWBAG and it stands for Battery, Lights, OIL, Water, Brakes, Air and most important of all .. Gas
Safe trip my fav nomad .. and maybe next time - your own brand new van .. 👍
I love when Camper looks out the windows, his look is so knowing!
Dogs get high that way. The oxygen rushes in or something.
@@masewoods8337 I think there is more there than that. I have never seen a dog who stares at a single thing for so long and with such apparent understanding. Camper is very intelligent!
I watched your old videos and saw you used to put make-up on for them, I like your natural look way better. Glad you made the change.
We went to Rifle Falls last summer and did the loop trail and saw the caves. It looks different with all the snow ⛄️
My Grandpa told me, "Is that light on the dash bothering you? Put some black tape over it and drive it." LOL
Man ole man. I love watching you enjoy life so much!!! Your videos help me through the grind of a work week. I hope someday when I retire I can live out my days in the Adirondacks with my dogs in a cabin!!! Keep the content coming!!! Enjoy every minute!!!
Toyota > Everything to be honest.
Sometimes when you add the gas it will cause a light to come on if you don’t get the gas cap fully in place. Air somehow makes it go off or something. When I’ve tightened mine it has worked for me when nothing else seems obvious!
Hi Me too. They said to put the cap on and turn until it clicks 3 times. Seems to be working. KEN
@@ibMoose2u If you buy an EV, no need to check the oil, belts & all those million pesky things!
@@ibMoose2u except I know many people with sprinters that spend more time in the shop instead if on the road, 3 of them less than a year old
@@Kat-n-Ollie Nikki's brand new van had a engine light right from the start - the dealership told her they could not guarantee this wouldn't happen again.
This is another reason not to buy Mercedes
Nerd
I love the way she talks for the dog! It's so cute! Beautiful scenery.
Cheers! 🍻
I grew up playing in the Rifle Falls area, glad to see it again.
GREAT VIDEO by the way ENJOYED SEEING YOU AND MR.CAMPER ENJOYING THINGS
I love Camper, he looks like a Golden Labrador and terrier possibly a Jack Russell cross. Happy 3rd Birthday Camper. 🎁🎉
Opportunity ĺ
I've been trying to figure that out too; to me he looks like he might have a little pitbull in him too but I think you're right about the other breeds except Jack Russells have wirery hair. Nevertheless Camper is a really cool dog.
When ya get your new unit.
Read your owners manual from Front to Back.
Lots of useful information.
G’day, Chris from Australia here .. I love watching your videos, they’re always amazing. Your little comedy quirks and dance routines always make me laugh. The places you explore seem very magical. Campers comments are always amusing … love your work .. haha cheers Chris
What a positive influence. Bucket list .... meet Camper and his person some day
Hi Nicole, I know it’s a lot of work doing this wonderful vlog for us to watch. So much fun and I loved watching you and Camper. Such a good team 😊. Love love love ❤. Have a fabulous and amazing days always. May your dream and wishes come true. Take care.
Whow Nikki, those mountains at the end are amazing! Thanks for sharing again. Next month I will sponsor you again with a reaction and some money. I love to watch your video's young lady.
Hi, It happens all the time. Of course it's a scam. K
oh cool, you must be so excited Nikki eek! On your way to your new home! Can't wait to see what you've done with the fit out
I'm so glad you upgraded your ride from the Prius. I got claustrophobic watching those vids.
Another exciting episode of The Camper Delventhal Show! 👍🏻😊
Nikki, you have such a great eye for your shots. And, of course your editing is awesome.
Fuel stations should have a winter blend diesel or #2.
Yes. A wonderful thing - a van. But still, the best motorhome is a huge American truck with a body with a carrying capacity of 50 - 70 tons. So 3 by 10 meters! This is a real house on wheels! :)
You really need to check out Goblin State Park and also visit Little Wildhorse Canyon and Bell Canyon while there.
Nicest campground restroom/shower I have EVER seen!
Pretty cool to see you visited Rifle Falls on your trip literally a 5 min ride for me where i live
I love all the places you travel to and just like watching have fun
