I'm sorry! I read your comment too fast so my previous reply was about BIRDS nest. (🤦) I would actually say that a bee's nest is a shell structure, since you have a thin layer of material enclosing a space. (and then the honeycombs would also be considered shell structures as well.) Sorry for the confusion!

Yes they would! They have a function and a defined shape. They are part of a larger structure, but they are still a structure on their own.

Yes, I think so. It would still be a frame structure with the leaves too. The frame (branches) supports the leaves so they have access to sunshine.
