- Today Cool Classics looks at the Hollywood Legend, Ruta Lee and her appearances on Hogan's Heroes. Ruta Played in 3 episodes and each time she portrayed a different character.
Her on screen chemistry with Bob Crane 9 Col Hogan ) and Werner Klemperer ( Col Klink ) was perfect! Along with Nita Talbot ( The White Russian ) I feel that Ruta was one of the women that did a great job and are very memorable.
Let Me Know who else to cover from Hogan's Heroes!
Look for Ruta in these episodes
Season 2 Episode 20 Hogan and the Lady Doctor
Season 4 Episode 16 Who Stole My Copy of Mein ?
Season 6 Episode 18 To Russia Without Love

Ruta Lee rocks !!! Watched her acting throughout the years. Awesome !!! Watch her in The Twilight Zone episode: A Short Drink from a Certain Fountain. One of her best performances. Kudos for upload. Looking forward to ur next one.
Thanks for the info and video.
I had the pleasure of meeting Ruta. She is bigger than life! She loves to share stories of her career and her experiences. Super friendly and very good to her fans. Her autobiography is worth seeking out. Lots of wonderful stories.
How cool that she is in a movie in 2021!
Ruta was always fun to watch on television; she had both dramatic and comedic skills...truly a beautiful woman with a kind heart to this day!
I love how she carries herself. Absolutely magnificent woman.
Ruta was close friends with my very great friend, actress Francine York (who sadly passed away a few years ago).
Great
Thank you again
Arlene Martel was on Hogans Heroes at least once. She was also T'pring on Star Trek TOS
After seeing this video, I now realize that I’ve seen Ruta in many many different shows. She was such a versatile actress.
How about Shultz??
Let's see Arlene Martel (Tiger) and Bernard Fox (Col Crittendon).
Yes, Yes on Tiger. So lovely
Ruta Lee wrote a book,Consider Your A$$ Kissed.
A wonderful book where she tells stories about Hollywood!
Ruta Lee is sweet and gracious.
I had the honor of interviewing Ruta Lee on my podcast,Chatting with Betsy.
I would love to see stories on all of Perry Mason series’s
And there are stories! Like the Perry Mason episode “ The Case of the Lovers Leap”. The lead singer of the rock band named Thin Lizzy , Phil Lynott, an Irishman, enjoyed American shows, and he wrote the song
“ Suicide” about that Perry Mason show! He sings about how character Peter Brent lied , but they never found a gun! I’ll bet many Perry Mason shows have little trivia involved
One of my favorite parts that Ruta played was on an episode of The Lucy Show entitled Lucy's Substitute Secretary.
So glad to hear this lady is still alive!!!!
Ruta played in 7 brides for 7 bothers , one of my favorite movies.
Always thought she was gorgeous. Her eyes knock me out.
Ruta Lee was in Seven Brides for Seven brothers, with her birthname Ruta Kilmonis
6;41 We all know what Bob Crane is thinking, don't we...
I don't know the actor's name, but the guy who played the British Colonel that outranked Hogan. He was in a few episodes. He would always screw everything up. I would like to see something on him.
Actor's name was...Bernard Fox. He played Col. Crittenden on HH.
@@heygetoffmylawn1572 He was famous as Dr. Bombay on Bewitched(1964-72).
I LOVE RUTA ❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️
Definitely Cool Classics 💕
The first time I remember seeing Ruta Lee was in the movie "Witness For the Prosecution". Then I saw her in a few episodes of Perry Mason. She was a chameleon, not so much through changing her looks, but in changing her acting. She was able to look the same and still not be recognized.
I didn't catch on to her until later on.
Once I did, then I would watch a show and be like, OMG there she is again! 🤣
@@CoolClassics Susan Cummings is another one who usually surprises me. I saw two Perry Mason episodes several times before I realized she starred in both: Fan Dancer's Horse and Lame Canary. Totally different characters.
She looked so much like Tiger on Hogan's Hero's
"Daaaa." "That gentleman is Leslie Smyth Beddows."
Arlene Martel (Tiger) was my fave.
She is another good one! :)
Hogan was a real gentleman........a gentleman is a wolf with patience.
I bet he nailed 90% of the women who were on HH. I would love to see a no holds barred, tell all interview with Nita Talbot. She is still alive and lives in NY. It's a shame so many have passed on.....RIP all of HH actors. Maybe an interview with Robert Clary, he's still alive and the only one of the main characters. I don't think he'd do a tell all, though it's worth a try.
Mike Wallace , what about the guy who took over Kinlock's role in the last Season of Hogan's Heroes. he also played a officer in Adam-12. I have not heared if he passed away. he seems to have disappeared after Hogan's Heroes. he might still be alive along with Robert Clary.
@@patrickperalta59 Ivan Icon, who played Kinchloe, passed away.
@@dianeeyestone2040 ok what about the Guy who played Baker in the last season the character took over for Kinchloe..........Baker was played by Kenneth Washington. he seems to have disappeared after being on Hogan's Heroes and Adam-12............I wonder if Kenneth Washington is still alive.
Bernard Fox played Col Crittenden. I always wondered why the Russian character from the pilot only appeared that one time. And the Russian woman that appeared several times as a partisan agent
I did a video on Nita Talbot who Played the White Russian on Hogan's Heroes and a video on Bernard Fox that played Col Crittenden :)
Would you do one on Kathleen Freeman? She played Gertude Linkmeyer, Gen. Burkhalter's sister. She does such a good job of making all the guys cringe!
Always loved her...
Cool Classics.....If you have not yet done so I'd like to see a video on "Alan Oppenheimer " he was in many episodes of Hogans Heroes.....you see him in many roles including the one with Ruta Lee you just showed where she interviews Hogan................ he also was the Mayor in Mama's Family and done a lot of voice actors works for many cartoons his most famous being Skeletor in the 80's He-Man cartoon as well as Man at Arms , Merman and I believe Cringer/Battle Cat.
Thanks for the heads up on him! I still want to do more Hogan's Heroes video. People like Alan and there are a few more women that appeared multiple times, always playing a different character.
I don't know her real name, but she played the Baroness in the episode where Hogan received permission to escape and visit the Baroness whose living room was bugged, while Klink and Hochstetter sat in the next room and listened in on the conversations.
She was, by far, my favorite on the show.
Marj Dusay.
Yes, Marj Dusay, passed away 3 years ago 😞
Could you cover Arlene Martel? She was beautiful! Thanks, Philip Vetter
Great job as always.
I appreciate that😁
do Lorne Greene
How about woman named Tiger
Like Barbara Eden, Ruta is beautiful into older age.
Hey CC= nice post. introspective to the various characters who appear like Ruta are enriching.I think John Dehner would be an interesting one to look into. He too, has hundreds of credits on his resume.
I just looked him up! Wow! What a list of acting credits!!!!!
who did the most appearances as different characters ? David Morick perhaps? Stewart Moss lost his main role after the pilot but was in quite a few other episodes, sometimes as Olson but also as just passing thru prisoner, including being a 'great bartender' back in London
Allan Oppenheimer, (he's still alive, too!) John Stephenson, Noam Pitlik, Bernard Fox, the beautiful Arlene Martel, any one of them would be a good subject.
SUGGESTION... Those actors who appeared on these two classic service sitcoms... HOGAN'S HEREOS and M*A*S*H.... First and foremost, William Christopher who by my count appeared on at least 3 HOGAN'S HEREOS prior to joining M*A*S*H.
Anything on Ernie Saracino?
Always though her very attractive and a good performer. Still alive btw.
Wonder if Crane was philandering with her?🤔
How about Larry Hovious? He was on Andy Griffith too.
Here you go :) My Larry Hovis video :)

I remember her as Alex Trebek's assistant on the game show 'High Rollers'.
Thanks for the content.
Keep up the good work.

Gorgeous lady
What about John Hoyt? He was on Hogan’s Heroes a lot.
I still need to do a video on him.
I have a list a mile long and the videos take me forever to make. lol
Also can you do the stars of 'I Dream of Jeannie'? I don't recall seeing any videos of those actors. Thanks!
I Love Jeannie and also Mrs. Bellows, Emaline Henry ! Both were 10s!
Dick Wilson played a German or a good guy too
On hogans heroes
Yes, She Is A Great Actress, That's For Sure. One Of My Favorite Performances By Her Was On, 'The Fugitive'. You Showed It From :43 To :49.
What about captain kangaroo
She has a comedienne’s face, cute and versatile but not beautiful.
I disagree. I've always thought she was very beautiful.
when young , I found her very beautiful 👍💕 🙋♀️
