The Black Cauldron is a Classic and a Masterpiece of Animation!
Hey Death THunder Studios!
Sorry for asking this but I was curious if you could make another “sign the petition” video of the uncut petition because from yesterday I saw that we had 993 of 1000 signed.
@@warsthemarvel8608 I will 😊 once we reach 995 out of 1000
Is there a movie?
not Disney.
Another movie
@Norma Labelle No, sadly. I hope there will be, though.
It came out in the wrong time, I love the fact that it's dark and has castles and dragons and swords! And not as much singing.
Yes
Ive always said, its one of the best films for a young boy. Its scary and dark, it toughens you up. The main character you associate with is saving innocent animals and pretty girls, its a simple story and i love how random and dark and fast paced it is, all the reasons mainstream hates it is why its epic. Best disney film of all time along with Fox and The Hound.
When I was a kid, I didn't know what to think. I loved the villain because he looked and sounded cool, and the sword was awesome. Yet, I didn't quite care for Taryn and Elionwy. Yet after I read the books and learned more about Welsh mythology, a mythology I have connection to through my heritage, I loved it more. I loved the connection to the lore, the darker tone, John Hurt, and even the animation looks vastly different from the other (I think this is the only disney animated movie to use some Rodoscoping). Its awesome. Although I don't like what they did to Gurgi. Gurgi is a wildman, not some creature. Yes he does some hair, but he is supposed to be some outcast from the world. He's more akin to a bigfoot to a pooka (which I think thats what they were going for).
@@8JFJK8 agreed.
The corporate drama behind the scenes was what nearly crippled Disney.
This and Atlantis the Lost Empire which also included a few strong female characters including Kida are both underrated gems and I hate the simplistic and stupid way people criticise them.
I agree, The Black Cauldron is the best animated movie ever
I had this on VHS when i was 5, Loved it!
Reason #8: The Horned king and he was voiced by Sir John Hurt (RIP)
You are the Man “Dragonzurker”. I love this movie and I’m so glad to know I’m not the only one who sees it. You put it better than I ever could. I’m showing this video to my family and friends so that I can rub this brilliant point in their faces
Wow! Look how good the animation on The Black Couldron is! Look how the kid looses and regains his balance while playing with the sword, you can really feel its wheight. Its amazing
I agree with you 100%
Aside from being Disney’s 25th animated film, a high fantasy, based on Lloyd Alexander’s The Chronicles of Prydain.
I enjoyed the Black Cauldron, and hoping for a Live action remake, and hopefully it would tie it more closely to the book series!
👍👍
Yes! This is one of my favorite Disney movies! And I absolutely love the book series!!
So do I!
Many say that, this film inspired Shigeru Miyamoto to create the Legend Of Zelda game series.
But I must mention that, somehow I feel like this, this also inspired Sam Raimi when he wanted to make an Evil Dead movie that would take place in the Middle Ages, as shown at the end of Evil Dead 2, and of course in Army Of Darkness the whole film takes place in the Middle Ages. But like Army Of Darkness, which has often been criticized for not being a "traditional Evil Dead movie," The Black Cauldron is also criticized for not being a "traditional Disney movie." Which I find very annoying.
I did not see Black Cauldron movie as a child, and the first time I saw this movie at the age of 21,
but ever since I really liked this movie.
A story set in the Middle Ages, a gloomy atmosphere, a magic sword, and a world you would like to explore.
And I have to admit, this movie is one of the reasons I draw fantasy comics.
I really liked it, it's in my top three disney animated films for sure, it had no singing, and I enjoyed that, musical do get annoying after a while, plus it's less kiddy than films like Snow white, and Cinderella, I think the problem was they really over spent, by having to totally reanimate certain things costing twice as much, and not making the amount of money that they wanted.
I absolutely adore the early to mid (and near late, in some cases) Disney movies. It makes me a little sad knowing that kids nowadays won't ever truly experience the Disney that made movies for the sake of art and magic rather than money and pumping out products. I'm not sure if it's just me, but recent Disney movies seemed to have really lost the classic Disney magic and beauty
You gotta Love the black couldren
To be honest, if this movie had catchy songs in it it would probably be less obscure bc the song would help it be remembered, even if as just "the movie that song is from."
Judging by its impact on TV it's had the last laugh: THE OWL HOUSE, AMPHIBIA and especially CENTAURWORLD all show its influence.
Do you think this movie deserves a remake?
Definetly. The books were awesome and Taran's story is something everyone could learn from. Also, I hope they hire me if there is a remake.
Dylan Staley can you really do that?
Yes
@@swift_sa 👍🏻
Yes, I hope so!
Instead of all those crappy movies that Disney remade, they should remake this! I know it will be good if they do, especially if they actually make the storyline like how it is in the book series.
My fave Disney movie
I like The Black Cauldron
I just watched this for the first time and really enjoyed it. It has wonderful animation, likable characters, and a fantastic story. It reminded me a lot of Lord of the Rings, in fact Andy Serkis based his Gollum voice, in part, on Gurgi. If I had to pick a weak point, it would be the barter scene with the witches, but I don’t understand why this movie is so heavily panned. I rate it 7/10.
I wonder how good it would be Disney made a live action of it and catered it to the correct audience this time. I’d love to see a movie like that (especially since it’s not a musical and it’s an authentic thriller) 🌸
A classy movie without bling-bling songs, commented by a straightforward and monotone voice without bling-bling youtuberish novelties. Awesome.
I love it classic
Another reason its good is because the princess doesn't sing like Rapunzel, Elsa and all those other princess'.
Yeah, she's a very rare and unique princess.
I love this movie
Best disney movie ever made
i loved this movie
i love this movie so much that i ove taran and eilonwy too
You'll direct it, and I'll act as Taran.
You see, Gurgi is the rhymer, Eilonwy makes the similes, and Fflewddur exaggerates the facts. All 3 of them could be writers.
I'm glad that The Black Cauldron didn't have any songs. It probably would have ruined it. I don't think these types of adventure movies need musicals.
And also, The Golden Pelydryn doesn't float or change color in the books.
Seriously we all need to bring back Dark Animated Kids Movie in theaters!😡😡😡😡 we all need to stop being Sensitive and Give it the Recognition it Deserves! Along With how Sensitive our Society has Become!!!😡 lets also hold Greedy Corporations and And Companies!! That are Ruining Everything!🤬🤬🤬 along with the Movies they need to put more Care into them and stop being so Greedy!
I can appreciate the points you're maiking, but I love the Prydain books more than most, and the first time I saw this movie, I hated it. I appreciate that they tried to do something different, but in my opinion, these stories just shouldn't even BE Disney animated movies. However, Don Bluth would've KILLED this project.
Agreed. This series was what got me into reading fantasy. I cringed when I saw this video title and the many comments in here. I thought surely there has to be someone with sense. The movie as an adaptation was terrible. If you've never read the books, sure maybe you'd appreciate it, but when you read the books and then watch this movie...yeah....it's like Eragon - no wonder it never got filmed sequels. The fact that Disney has the rights to this again is very disheartening, especially considering their obsession with "the message". This series needs a live action remake whether as movies or overall tv series, I don't care just as long as it does justice to the books.
Far above the mediocre stories Disney puts out today
Did you know that the film got an R rating or so that's what people thought that's what the rating was gonna be. Disney should've shown this film to the Mpaa and the mpaa people should've thought about cutting out some of the scenes. But disney had to cut the scenes, due to the test screening scare with the kids and parents.
It didn't get an R rating. It almost did, so it had to be edited twice and had to wait to be put in the theaters until 1998.
*no god no god please no no no nooo!!!!!!!*
I think of this as Lord of the Rings
arnebenne so do I
Andy Serkis based his Gollum voice, in part, on Gurgi.
I think of The Legend of Zelda.
8:00 💀: I hope they do Reboot it. They better name it The Chronicles Of Prydain. 🗡💀👑
Make it feel like Into The Unknown Fantasy. 🏞 no singing.
Yes, that's the perfect name. They should at least make a series or something.
