Old man that I am, I am familiar with the gifts being availed to the saints. We didn’t “train”, but we taught of them being something that is deemed by God to impart to implement His will. We should be open to be used by the Father. I witnessed a friend of mine who suddenly spoke a language we knew he didn’t know, a foreigner was amongst us and didn’t speak English. My friend suddenly spoke that visitor’s language which resulted in the visitor’s conversion to Christ. I didn’t realize the intensity of this until my friend said. “What happened?” It explained Shavu’ot (Pentacost) for me.
I love what you guys have to say about being engaged with training for gifts. The point of training is not trying to gain something God doesn't have planned for a person, but for someone who has been given a gift by God to learn how to use it. It is vital. One of the greatest hindrances I have found in my own spiritual growth with some of my gifts is the lack of training within the church.
I'm here in North Texas and not found a church that does this and this is exactly what I've been praying for to find in my area. Please pray for me to find this in my area. The church I go to, and great studies but I've yet to find one who practices in the gifts like this at church and or in a home group setting

And so there is a demonstrating and that demonstrating is a form of training, that is exactly what i did in mathematics when i used to be a middle school teacher, i would teach a concept, i would demonstrate that concept on a whiteboard and then i would have those kids "practise that comment by doing it" äh that concept themselves.... heart heart

In my experience thus far, training in the gift of discernment is the biggest key to operating in all the gifts. It’s also very important to be spotless, and that can be a process for some people.

Would it be more apt to say instruction in Spiritual Gifts (impartation/acquisition and proper use of) rather than teaching or even training in Spiritual Gifts? I know you guys understand the difference but some are hung up on the terms
What does it mean to speak in "Tongues"? Is it just speaking in foreign languages not common to an area or is it some specific dialectic language? Also, what does it mean to "prophesy"? Is it issuing prophecies as pertaining to future events?
Prophecy can be foretelling, or forthtelling His Word in a way that gets to the people saying the same truth. Could the school of prophets mean a group of people teaching the old truth in a different way, and not necessarily foretelling?
I was a member of a Chrismatic Church that had a spiritual activation class one a week. Mainly to 2:07 activate the Prophetic . I was a new member and skeptical at first .I can tell you those classics were awsome.But unfortunately they were were hyper chrismatics and veeredd of to some goody stuff. These people were not charlatans.They loved the Lord but were deceived I tried to talk to them they didn't want to hear it. It's my opinion there are alot.of Chrismatics that are decieved
Going to watch the whole thing but halfway through and it’s just defending how you can train and fine tune the use of spiritual gifts rather than how to actually train in them. Maybe that will come in the second half and I do appreciate your balanced approach at remnant radio knowing that you have a wide array of audience and differing beliefs on some of these things but sometimes it feels like you guys spend so much time on defending that these gifts actually exist or that there is actual ways to train in them rather than actually teaching about them. Some nay sayers will continue to be nay sayers sometimes you just gotta ignore them and get to the point. Howdy 🤠 I’m definitely a charismatic and a believer in spiritual gifts….however I lean on people being equipped with different giftings….i don’t believe I have the gift of prophecy or tongues, I lean more on shepherding and teaching….one of my questions is how to address homies that continue to practice prophecy, but continue to be inaccurate….do they have the actual gift? Are they in error with how off they are in using the gift? Thank you all for all you do…

I have recently stepped in as a pastor of a church here in Tulsa and I am needing to be discipled in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as this has not been a priority in my denomination. Any suggestions of who I might contact? Sundays and Wednesdays are very busy for me and I want to learn before I try to lead anyone else. Thank you
I'm not convinced it's even entirely accurate to say what took place at Pentecost was wholly "spontaneous," either. In Luke, Jesus told the Apostles "Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high." "And they worshiped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, Luk 24:53 and were continually in the temple praising and blessing God. Amen." And THEN in Acts, "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication..."
What do you call it when you ask God if He has something to say about a person & he does speak a short phrase applicable to the person's situation & it's worded in such a way that it couldn't have been something my imagination thought up? Is that discernment, or a word of knowledge or prophecy? I find it confusing trying to distinguish between the various gift definitions. It wasn't a fact about the person I had no knowledge about. It wasn't giving insight into the future. It was advice on dealing with a current difficult situation.
Does it need a label? I experience the same thing constantly. But I don't have a ne for it. It's just being open to the Holy Spirit guiding your tongue. James 1:5 If anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives generously to all... Keep asking for guidance and have faith that He will answer. 🙏
Thats what is called a Word of Wisdom. Wisdom given by God for a situation. Word of Knowledge is information that is revealed about something or someone.

Yes, the gifts and training work together. We all hopefully are growing in using the spiritual gifts God has given us. This includes, for example, "study to show yourself approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, who properly handles the word of truth." One big problem, however, is when some teach that you can get any gift you want and be trained in it. God gives the gifts as he chooses. Too many try to be like someone else in the area of gifts instead of asking God and using the gifts he gives you. The fruit is so have so many false tongues that the true are almost unidentifiable and many ultimately reject all. Sadly, the comment section includes a promo for Bethel Redding and Remnant guys are silent. You didn't learn anything from the exposure of IHOPKC? You scrubbed your own channel and now are going on like nothing happened continuing to follow Storms and promote the false by giving it a platform. Waiting to see a response to the promotion comment.
I feel the need to say this is not an attack or accusation because I know written words can lack tone and love that can be seen in person. My personal opinion is that they scrubbed their channel of Bickle because they didn't want to give him a platform anymore. At one time they did respect him. I think we've all had people in our lives that we've recommended at one time but later learned they weren't as wonderful as we thought. We wouldn't want to have videos out endorsing that person that we now know the truth about. Someone could be led astray by thinking this person is still a good teacher. That was my thought about Sam Storms as well. He was a close friend of Bickle, but Bickle fooled him too. Why do you then not like Sam? He seems to still stand for truth. Is there more to the story? I've learned through seeing so many pastors fall. Men of many different denominations have hideous sins in their lives while proclaiming God's Word at the same time. I no longer idolize ANY pastor. They're all just sinners like the rest of us. Exalt Jesus and idolize Him and we won't be led wrong.
I recommend SCHOOL OF THE PROPHETS at Bethel church in Redding CA. If you feel called to prophetic ministry or gifts it is in August, I went last year and it was amazing! It is 5 days and it does cost 💲 but well worth it in my opinion.
Why I am still surprised... books by Jack Deere and find the complete chapter about Paul Cain online and put it in place of the one in the Why I am still surprised by the voice of God.

The first example of “teaching people to teach” is not a legitimate argument. People with the “gift” to teach don’t need all those things that you listed of that is taught in seminary. The gift has nothing to do with learning how to develop an outline for a sermon. Someone with the “gift” yo teach, will be able to walk through the Bible and teach others, illuminating scripture to them using their gift. Training people how to develop a sermon at seminary is just training people in the natural how we do things in the modern world.
I would submit the word 'train' is confusing and not accurate..Not sure you intendrd that but it caught my eye. You can't 'train' someone to speak in a different language (biblical tongues) or heal or anything else that is s sipernatural gift of God. I've befn daved the better part of 50 years and love The Lord. I've never spoken to anyone of a different ethnicity in their language and if I wanted to or God desired it them He would enabld me, or I go to my local community college and take a class in that specific language. You wouldnt 'train' me
When we say “train” we mean teach what the Bible says about those gifts. Then we demonstrate those gifts for those we are training; then we ask God to use us in those gifts; that does not mean He will necessarily. We do this with evangelism. We teach what the Bible says. We go out and do evangelism with someone, showing them the ropes. Then we ask them to take a risk and talk to the lost. It does not mean that God will give them supernatural grace to see the lost convert.
I think people miss interpret the text, you can teach them the Holy Spirit but it is the Spirit that works all these so called gifts, gifts means something given, by the Spirit not us people think we have a gift, not true it is the Spirit that works all these things not us, you can't train someone in something they have no ability to operate
You can only teach the body about what each of the spiritual gifts are and humbly encourage and exhort them to stir up those gifts. Anything beyond this, including "training" is extra Biblical.
There is no example in God's Word of being "trained" on Spiritual gifts. You are also charging people a thousand dollars on your website to "train" people on the Spiritual gifts. The problem is, this is unbiblical, and you're basically saying the Holy Spirit can't work through people without your help. Do you really think the Holy Spirit needs anyones help? Can you imagine Paul or Peter speaking to the new converts, and telling them....for only a thousand dollars, we'll show you how to use the Holy Spirit that our Great Father in Heaven just blessed you with. I'd say they might need practice hearing and discerning the voice of God before they prophesy.
In what ways are they inaccurate?
The pastor needs to rein them in and teach them discernment.

Because you are not Jesus
