As lockdown starts to end in France, Mummy and I look back at all of the changes that have happened since it began. As our bed and breakfast income ended due to the virus, I immersed myself in vlogging, producing many more videos per week. Today I share some of my UA-cam analytics, and talk about the extraordinary growth of this channel, and of my Patreon account, over the last six weeks. Mummy and I share the impact that this change has had on our lives here, and talk about what it means for the future of the chateau!

Mummy asks why we are interested in your lives? Because of the History (In Australia we have nothing like the chateau), the food, the gardens, the buildings, the people and the characters, the joy, and most of all the laughs from Mummy
Actually we do,, the homes of the rich farmers of the past and homes in the rich towns they service.

@@evmcelroy I agree! The Chateau is lovely, the history is interesting, Stephanies decorating talent and vision are first rate, but without her charming personality, enthusiastic presentation, and joy in her home and surroundings we wouldn't feel nearly as welcome, entertained and educated.
It is YOU. It's every one of you. The characters are like a golden cast in a sitcom. I compare it to the Golden Girls or The Nanny, where every person was just perfect.
I love all of you, Isabelle, Percy, Marie, the elusive Nic, Antoine, Selmar, Scotman, the two Michaels...and every one I missed. It's a kind of fairytale life and community I guess so many of us wish to be part of!
But yes, I love the building, too. But only watching the chateau itself without you? Well... that won't hold the spirit I love so much! ♡

I'm one of those people that got here because the algorithm told me to see "doing it ourselves". I am so glad I discovered your channel afterwards. I smile every time I see a new episode of the chateau diary poping up in my subscriptions. This i so much better to watch than any reality tv series on television because it is real life and everybody is very nice and so friendly. Your channel and Michael P's channel is really the only tv I watch now.... it's real people, with real families, kind and gentle, honest people, which is what this world needs. I love watching you guys. It’s total escapism for me. Its such a relaxing part of my day when I get to watch you all.
When mummy said there’s just as interesting lives around the world, there are of course! But the personality and the people at Lalande are so entertaining! I’m the USA there’s farm life, in England there’s the people who own castles and big country houses, and there’s even a handful of chateau channels, but the community of lalande makes you feel as if everyone there is your friends!
cannot agree more. even in france there are other chateaus like michaels, who might even put out higher quality vids, but i will always put lalande first. you feel you are part of it and especially the spirit of steph and isabelle and all your lovely friends is so vibrant its out of this world. i hope selfishly lock down never ends so your mom stays there with you in your videos :DD but then again i want lockdown to end so i can visit lalande. it seems so magical and full of life. other chateaus are just not lively

Obviously the lockdown around the world has been resulted in people looking for things to entertain themselves. This has been a Godsend for you. I know for myself, I felt like I was in France with you. I also looked back at all your previous Vlogs, and I felt like I'd been on holiday to Venice, Egypt, Paris, Africa - for that alone you deserve the rewards you're getting - you took the time and trouble to video and tell people all about the places you were in. It was such a joy to watch! If you've ever read Johann Hari's book 'Lost Connections' you understand that what people are really missing these days is 'connectedness' a sense of belonging to a community. You give out such a vibe of connectedness and kindness. It's not that easy for some people to find that these days. You put a lot of happiness out into the world.

My 7 year old daughter watches with me she loves you ! Her favorite video was your Easter video when you made the bunny cakes ! She remembered when you found the pan in another video and she said oooh look Mommy she is using the bunny pan she bought in the other video! It made my heart so happy!

You should change the Patreon ranks, because Michael has less than third donors and almost half your donations. 20€ should become BARONS, new COUNTS would donate 35-40€ (50€? Discuss with Michael where are most of his donors). There's too big empty span between 20-100€ you now have. (some might want to give more than 20€, yet 100 is too much..)
And yes, if thousands give you just 1€/month, it also gathers..

Stephanie, Thank you for sharing your life with us. About your mother working in the garden; My Grandfather is a healthy 103 years old. He is bright and healthy and puts in a large garden every year. Be says it's one of the secrets of his health so please don't be in such a rush to take the work from your mother. I know she needs help but it IS healthy to continue in the garden. 😊

I'm so pleased that you have so many patrons to help with projects at the Chateau now. I can't afford to be a patron at the moment but always watch through the ads(make a cup of tea) and if you do set up a go fund me for other projects then I will donate as an occasional thing. I know I enjoy watching because the idea of living in such an old, historic property and having the opportunity to restore it to so much of it's original look, as well as update it for a comfortable lifestyle, is exciting. And the people - Stephanie, Isabel, Percy, Marie, Nic, Marie, Antoine, Selmar and the other volunteers and family and friends, are all sparkling gems that captivate me every vlog. The travels are amazing too when you think that a 2-hour train ride and you're in Paris, or a flight to London, as well as the other side of the continent on a cruise, wow! The food also and the table settings, parties, but I could go on and on. ❤💕

We love you for being: real, up beat (most of the time), and show us how your everyday lives actually are. Which is such a difference from fake reality TV. Your kindness and loving natures make you very loveable. Yes the chateaux is amazing and your decorating skills outstanding, but it is your loving characters that brings us back for more.
Anyone can vlog their chateau but not everyone can entertain, teach history of all things beautiful and surround theirselves with such wonderfully kind, giving, charming, artistic people. and then there's mummy, Percy, Jerry...

Be cautious of satellite - Unless it's different there, the satellite internet companies here only give you decent speeds for a few Gigs, then it drops terribly. I don't think it would be enough to upload videos, so definitely ask that specific question before you sign up for one. Your positivity and energy for restoration and life in general is inspiring, that's what's special!

I'm American (Colorado) and for me, I love a good authentic story, and these are hard to find even in the US where storytelling is prolific. I am also inspired by Stephanie's enthusiasm and love of beauty and history. I appreciate the honesty of the challenges and rewards. And all the characters! I mean residents, of La Lande. I had a 150 year old grand craftsman mansion for 3 years and with little help I had to give it up. I can relate to many of your challenges. Please keep up the wonderful video's and stories.(p.s. For Mummy so she knows why some of us are interested. I know that what we see is a small part of what goes on but personally I find the joy of the Chateau interesting but I am also drawn to the joy of seeing your joy Stephanie and seeing things restored, hearing the history of many things, seeing the places you travel too and how you see those places. I also love the celebrations for special occasions and for nothing at all because my family doesn’t celebrate anything and I have an underling desire to decorate and dress up and celebrate too. The Chateau will be resplendent with flowers, smell heavenly and the food prepared with the vegetable beds will help as well. Maybe the orchard can come back as well. You will have so much this year you may be able to sell some or to donate to food banks if you have no clients. I am not a patron right now as I am giving to a couple of people who are really in a hard place with little support right now, isolated, without income. Later on when things change I will hopefully be able to. In the meantime I do watch every video and enjoy each and every one.
You wonder why so many people watch...it’s because you’re living our dream and we get to share it vicariously through you. We’re right there with you, like a crowd of ghosts dressed in our finery, toasting you with champagne, wanting to roam the grounds and woods, hand dig the lake if we could, touch the fabrics, see everything that is happening, rooting around in the attics, buildings, the chapel, the greenhouse and gardens. If we could ,by some magic , be there in person we’d all take up tools and help, relax with a drink at the end of the day in the salon or the patio with everyone, enjoy a meal together and laugh. So keep making the videos Stephanie, Mummy, Percy, Scotman , And everyone else who comes to work or enjoy, we so wish we could be there too. 🥰🤗🙋🏼❤️
That would be such a dream! To be able to be part of a community of like-minded and positive people and work to help bring the place to life! My fondest daydream currently is bunches of the community, including myself (of course ;) visiting post lockdown and bustling about renovating spaces for us to live in the currently empty spaces and having lots of costume balls.
I would happily pack up and move my family there if possible and so have contented myself with spending excessive amounts of time looking at chateaux for sale lol.
Our family have been watching from the beginning and it is so very heart warming to know that all the hours spent with your family have helped. Like with most tragic things (virus) comes positive things (families reconnecting). So happy this was one of them. Blessings.

I know I got excited too - big cooee from Tassie. I don't know why there are not more than 5% of us. I keep posting on my Facebook page telling people to get on board they will not regret it. I even talk about Stephanie in my classes. The vlog that she mentions here about the start of the corona virus and staying positive I used with students. She and Mummy and all the La Lande tribe are inspiration in how to live each day as if it is a blessing.
