Hi Stephanie, congratulations on reaching the $10k target! I'm so glad you've thought to make a cushion from one of the tea towels that I sent you (I doubt the others would work). I found it when I was clearing out my patents house and I immediately thought of you and your love of blue and white. My grandfather used to work at the Blackstaff linen mill in Belfast and I believe that is where the tea towels came from. Look forward to seeing the finished result!!
Oh James I’m so delighted you’ve told me the tea towel was from you! There was an unfortunate incident a few months ago when I opened gifts just before going on holiday. All of the cards and packaging were put aside for me to write thank you notes on my return, and when I came back I found they’d been used as kindling! Admittedly my pile may not have been the neatest, and others didn’t realise it was precious 😂 I absolutely love the tea towels and this one is my favorite. I can barely bring myself to use it, so it has to become a cushion! Thank you so much ❤️
Ah I thought it looked like a nice linen! You can tell by the 'bounce' it has. Lovely towel, I wish I had one too, I'd make a cushion too!

GLAD THINGS ARE GOING WELL! Ian is doing a wonderful job. The montage turned out great. I thought it was heart touching and caring when Selmar carried Diesel because he was getting tired during the walk. And I thought it was funny when Antoine kept touching Steph's hair with the weed, lol. I hope you get get Isabell's wonderful load of earth to the garden before the rain comes, which is much heavier and harder to move wheel barrows. Speaking from experience. I think Diesel, Crot-Crot, Thor & family, the roosters & chickens, Ruby and the humans here are all fabulous, especially young Antoine - such a very well-mannered & lovely young man! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Selmar carrying Diesel in the woods. We have all been there. Little dogs with little legs, soon get very tired from walking so far. I laughed and laughed. Memories of long walks made longer by our heavy doggy loads. But they will not be left behind! Lots of love to you all.

I actually loved the b-roll footage with the music!! Possibly even more than had we seen it with sound, it was just so idyllic. I loved watching you all starting to walk down the path - what a lovely little family you make. And I loved the shot of Selmar in the middle of the trees just looking up at the canopy.
That is why Selmar must never leave and Percy, Maddie and our Gerry need to come home!💙💚❤️

Oh the laughter! Your videos gives me such joy. We are still in lockdown until June 12. (Michigan) the montage worked but I miss the laughter. Diesel needs a stroller. The shot of Selmar carrying him was priceless.
It’s a Big Day at Lalande, with the huge load of dirt arriving .... 😅 Whew!! it will have to be brought to the other side .... the garden is going to look wonderful over time. Thor is really keeping an eye on things! I loved his alert calls with the dirt arrivals. Also at one point he was up on the stone wall pillar, just staring at Stephanie for the longest time. It was like he was saying, "what are you doing, crazy girl, making such activity and taking our quiet away! What is next!?"

Push the wheel barrel into the dirt, pull the dirt from top of heap into it, a whole lot at a time, for one tenth the work. Then gravity does the work.

@@aleta5873 He was a volunteer worker from Belgium who seems able to do anything and is incredibly charming and amenable. I just keep correcting the misspellings of his name, since Selma is a female name. The best is the capital R on the end of Selma, so it is more noticeable. I think he has quite a fan club by now.

One thing I love about this channel is how often you show your connections to the community. It's heartwarming and fun to see the local gardener, breadmaker, handyman etc all contribute! Where I live box stores and corporations are considered gods, but I much prefer the community connection ☺

Seeing that pile of dirt being dropped reminds me of my own piles of compost and woodchip I have dumped on the old carriage drive section of our drive. Every year in late winter we finished using both piles and I think finally, I can have the drive back and can walk the straight line to the old carriage house/stable/shed...thing- but nooooo, we need more beds and more mulch and more compost. It's resulted in the carriage drive becoming less flat and weedier. One day I'll get it back and won't have to weave my way around them. On the upside, I'm slowly replacing a .31 acre lot of grass to lovely flowerbeds full of blooms and fruit and wildlife! :-)

You look like you are in full summer over there! We never heard how the picnic treat tasted! Hope it was good! If I could, I would send Selmar a snuggly, those pouches you put on to hold a baby, so it will be easier to carry the pup for future walks! ASK your Gardner if he know how to do deadhead roses and trim them before winter to have more flowers. Plus all of the brunches thiner then pencil size have to be removed. He need to also find mother branch claimer and remove from her spare brunches. Your roses will shock you with new flowers. ROSE Fertiliser is must in spring.

I can’t wait to see the garden and courtyard completed! I do have a question though. When you showed us the tennis court, did you mention that you would restore it, or is that not on the agenda? Because I’ve been looking around at newly renovated tennis courts, and really, they actually quite transform the area around them. Can you imagine, a new shining tennis court with roses climbing over the sides?

Well, I thought the music during the walk made an absolutely lovely change. Not that we don't want to hear what you're saying but it was so magical especially in the fern forest with Selmar looking reflectively calm gazing at the trees!
