  • Part 2 - Here’s another glimpse into the workshop. This video is unedited and unscripted. I'm in the processes of working on two different CBG necks. I know this is a different kind of video. I just wanted to create kind of a Mr. Rogers style of "Hang Out" video where you and I are are both in the workshop building, talking, joking around and having fun. Won't you be my neighbor? :-)

The beginning of the video, you were like mister Rogers how he used to change into his zip up sweater, lol.

Thanks for sharing your church in the about section. I went to your churches website and listened to a 10 year old sermon from your pastor about the early days of Paul. You are my brother in Christ. Thank you for being faithful.

I use a bungee setup on my aprons. It allows a little more comfort, while keep it snug.

I tried to give you a hand but my iPad would not let me do it. I looked for a app. that says hand reach thru IPad. I’m excited about the delivery you should get sometime next week. As always your desire to show us is amazing to me. Love you like a Brother in the Lord.

I'm gonna have to make me one of these cigar box guitars.
6 strings is 3 strings too many!!

I would definitely swap out the apron wire with something that would break before it cut you in two.

Nice job, I thought that the zero fret was left smooth and that a wire guide nut was installed on the head side, just to keep the wires inline but not touching them?

I have an idea for you.
Use brass BB's from a BB GUN. For Fret markets. Make a shallow hole half the depth of a BB. Glue into place.. should look awesome

Del, do you still use large springs for your reverb effects ? I haven't seen any in your cbg's lately . I want my first one to be non-electric, just some good looking f-holes on it !! Love the pure acoustic sound ... what a beautiful neck , love the steel wool effect !

THX for the info. I hope to build a couple soon - 2 string diddley bo and 3 string cangit. Cigar boxes aren't too plentiful here, so I'm using what I can find :>). No Frets tho ....

Really nice job! I was very impressed at the effect of the wire wool, but I am not as brave as you, I wear gloves. I might try a dark blue stain after the wire wool to see how that blends
Keep up your great work and videos

Interesting, just now I find out that there are Jumbo Frets, what is the difference between the Jumbo and the normal Frets? By the way, very good videos. I am looking at all your videos because I intend to make myself a cigarbox guitar and before doing something wrong I prefer to see these creative videos. Greetings from Vorarlberg Austria

Haha you don't have a clue how happy you made me watching you solder.
Try putting packing tape on the back of your sandpaper. It won't burn through as easy. And....well you'll see.

Serious question. Why not fret the Neck, dress the Frets, THEN Stain it? Stain won't stick to the Frets. I'd think it would give a more even finish, no?
