This was a great video! Regarding the filter issue, I solved it by taking an old $3 UV filter, removing the glass and taking super glue and attaching the empty filter to the front of the SmallRig Filter mount. It worked PERFECTLY. I can now attach regular screw-in 52mm filters to the threaded front of the UV filter frame that is permanently mounted to the SmallRig adapter vs. buying the $40 Moondog Labs version.

Thank you for the excellent video. I use the Smallring cage + 67mm Moment Filter Mount + Step up/down ring. With this configuration, you can use an Anamorphic lens (any moment lens) and VND filter together.
What an interesting product!! I don't think I could use it with my osmo 3 gimbal (I'm already close to max payload), but maybe with moza mini p and with tripod for sure!! Thank you very much for sharing…. This set up is more for vlogging. It is not for everyone…. I personally still like a bit more just cage with gimbal of the set up you have but just adding microphone
I am too starting to make a setup. I have the iPhone 13 mini I have although decided to go for an Ulanzi case because Moment cases are limited to their lenses with the click on system where the Ulanzi are comparable to more lenses and other accessories. I will be getting Dji OM 5 later this month and already have some tripods and stuff from my Lumxis setup I can use with my iPhone setup. Because I'm am waiting for most of my things to arrive I watch your videos to get an idea of how I can use the equipment I've ordered 😁
Thanks to all the things I've learned here at your Channel I actually pulled it off this year. I using a suction cup on a glass window of my combine I was able to attach my om3 then produce the most stable video I've ever made in that combine. What I really need now is some type of Wi-Fi microphone I can attach to my Samsung S9 so I can solve the poor audio quality. It's difficult to talk over an 85 horsepower diesel running at 2500 rpm sitting right beside me. So I'm searching for a quality microphone I can clip to my shirt and hopefully connect to my S9 via WiFi. Thank you for being here teaching 👍
There are bluetooth solutions. I.e. Feiyutech SPG2 gimbal has a 4 pin trrs microphone and headphone contact on the side and connects to your phone via bluetooth. There are bluetooth microphones on the market as well...
Great video. I am getting my iPhone 12 Pro Max set up just now and am finding some Smallrig products only available for iPhone 13 and later. I purchased the Smallrig anamorphic lens and it came with a 52mm magnetic filter holder. I just wish there was an adapter so that I could use my existing thread filters. I have also ordered the Smallrig handle with the Bluetooth start stop button, though I understand this only works with the native camera app and not Filmic pro.
At 5:48 in you are showing the iPhone audio adapter, I have the iPhone 12 Pro and off brand adapters did not work with my external mic, which looks exactly like the Smallrig mic. I purchased the official Apple audio mic adapter and it works fine. I also would like to mention that an external mic sounds a lot better! Great build there Zdenka, I have a similar rig, not quite as stealth as your Smallrig setup but it works for me. 😎❤️😎

Another great video from you, thank you I am having trouble finding a variable nd filter attainment for my iPhone 13 pro, in the uk, I'm nearly giving up
Interesting timing on this as I've been doing the same. I already have a Moment case for every day use and I wanted flexibility between different set-ups without removing cages etc. I went for a generic cage off of eBay that is awesome. I paired it with the Ulanzi ST27 holder and a PGYTECH quick release so I can pop the whole holder off and attach it to the PGYTECH MantisPod. For filters I have the Moment 67mm adaptor kit and also the clip on adaptor so I can still have filtration without a lens which is what I also use for gimbal. My whole kit (including Rode Wireless Go II) fits in the Bagsmart bag As far as your filter issue, could you not use a stepdown ring?
Zdenka, this made me laugh, not the purpose I know but entertaining, the finished article looked like some home made mechanical disaster. As you can guess I am not a blogger. Love your videos and your enthusiasm. Best Regards.

Great video. I've been debating the Smallrig cage and already have the moment lenses too. I have the Moment thin case for my iPhone 13 Pro Max and 1/4-20 mag mount with cold shoe mounted on a the Ulanzi MT-16 mini tripod stick. With the mag safe mount, it might be even more quick to go to full kit, but lose the ability to attach a side handle/top handle. Would love to get your thoughts on that.
Thank you very much for sharing….. smallrig gives you more flexibility to attach anything but easy set up is also great. It really depends on your style and what you need
Nice, practical tips not only for the frame but also for the accessories that should make recording more comfortable, but it turns out that not everything can go our way. Maybe in the future a similar film with some last Samsung ;-)? About its accessories and filming possibilities. Greetings from Poland.
Zdenka, have you tried the Moondog Filter Mount V3 on the Smallrig cage? Is it compatible? Does it work better than the previous version you tried on this video? By the way, after you made this video, Smallrig released its own filter adapter but it seems it has no thread for the filters but they are mounted magnetically only and that doesn't seem to be safe enough. I'd like to know your thoughts about this because I already bought the Smallrig cage and I'd like to know what adapter I should buy for using 52mm filters on my iPhone13 Pro.
Yes, I try at the moondog filter mound and it is super tight. It was very hard to put it on it also scratched the cage quite a bit. I have not tried the mount from Smallrig so that I don’t know if it fits better
Thank you Zdenka a really useful video with just the right information I was looking for to set up a mobile vlogging kit to take out on hikes and film the scenery and places of interest. ATB.
Thank you for a very useful video. I too have the Smallrig cage for the 13 Pro and have been wondering about the Moondog filter adapter. My initial thoughts are: it might be possible to gentle file off a small amount from the inside of the bayonet to ease the removal. I believe that Smallrig also offer a custom build service which might be able to provide a backplate which would include a filter mount, maybe 52/58. I haven't enquired of Smallrig what the cost might be but, if it is less than USD 40 could be a very good solution and something that Smallrig themselves might chose to offer.
@@ZdenkaDarula I've been in touch with Moondog Labs and they are discussing making a new filter attachment for the iPhone 13. I'm hoping for an announcement in the next couple of weeks.
I chance upon PolarPro’s LiteChaser Pro and they have iPhone 13 filter system on pre-order. Seem like a good/decent alternative to Moment as they now also makes more lenses (anamorphic, wide etc) and more filter options (variable ND etc). Would be nice to see you picking it up when it’s out to try out and review about it too. I do feel that is more portable / pocketable like the Moment compared to smallrig. Thanks

I had the polar pro setup for the 12 pro max and really liked it. But you have to keep in mind that once you upgrade your phone (in my case to the iPhone 13 pm) even the filters are not compatible anymore with an upgraded case. You have to start up from scratch again. Moment offers lenses and filters that can be used with many phone models, this might be cheaper in the end when you upgrade your phone. Anyone interested in the Polar Pro light chaser filmmaking set for the iPhone 12 pm by the way? Don’t have a use for it anymore 😞
Great tutorial!! You’ve shown the Zhiyun Crane M3 my be the one gimbal to buy that could stabilize both smartphone and mirror less cameras, but I await your detailed review on it. In addition to SmallRig, BeastGrip’s cage could be an alternative…that is if they release it for the 13 Pro Max…😑
Good! I’ve the smallrig cage for 13pro but it has one big problem!!! In low light condition with and without lens (like moment) you lose the focus in some range!! If u leave the phone from the cage the focus come back again in any condition and in any range!! The same with shiftcam cover and lens!! I don’t know!!
NEW SUB... found your channel and there is so much knowledge here !!! I have a WEEBILL S that I want to use as a set up for my IPHONE 13..do you suggest using the smallrig cage OR no case at all when placing in the phone mount . THANK YOU!
Thanks for the great video. It was very informative like usual. I was curious if the new version of the Moondog Labs V2A fixed the dark corner issue? I checked the description but didn't see any notes about it. Also, do you recommend any specific ND and cpl filters that are in the 52mm size?
I love the music at the beginning. Where did you get it if you don’t mind me asking? That rig looks ideal for my anamorphic lens. The fitting it came with takes ages to line up.
I use music from epidemic sound. My link in video description will give you 1 month free…. This is quite heavy duty bug a bit big. Moment cases do the same just much lighter and smaller. So for deciding think of the final set up you need
Hi Zdenka, hope all is good with you 🙂 I've just bought the 13 Pro Max version of this case and it arrived yesterday. It looks and feels great. I bought the two handle kit and have attached a small LED light. As I'm still playing with Smartphone video, I thought I'd pop to my favourite smartphone video blogger and ask for your opinion. What specific lens would you recommend as a first purchase for this phone/rig combination. There are so many out there it's quite confusing. Moment seem to be very popular, so is there a good lens to add to the existing iPhone cameras using the Smallrig cage? I love the look of the anamorphic lens, but as I plan on using this kit to do some basic promotional and interview videos I'm not sure that would be the way to go. Many thanks for all your good work. Slan, Rob
Thank you very much for sharing and congratulations on your new phone. I would probably get telephoto lens as this can give you a very different look. It will look kind of like from a DSLR camera.
@@ZdenkaDarula Well I managed to pick up a set of used Moment lenses locally for a really good price. Got the 58mm Tele and the 10mm Macro. I’m really happy with the quality, they feel really substantial. Looking forward to getting out and using them. Next is an Variable ND filter and Mount for phone. I also got a Moment case thrown in but unfortunately it’s for the 12 Pro Max so the lens part doesn’t sit properly. Good news is the lenses work flawlessly with the Smallrig Cage. 👍👍 Thanks again for your advice Zdenka 🤓
Another informative and excellent video. I have Sandmarc lenses and was wondering if these will fit in the same SmallRig setup you demonstrated for the iPhone Pro Max 13. I’ve only purchased their film rig, which comes with an anamorphic, telephoto 60mm, and a hybrid filter (nd16,nd32,nd64). I would imagine these lenses would work but I’m curious about the compatibility because it seems Moment are more popular (or more commonly tested) in UA-cam reviews. Do you think they will fit? I’m going with the Small Rig over the big film rig that they sent for now be used it would fit a gimbal better. I also have that lovely m3.
Hello Zdenka =) thanks for video =) i'm thinking about moment's things too, but now i just ordered and recieved the clamp for 52mm filters =) so it is suitable with mine 50mm nikon lens filters =)
Hello Zdenka, I really loved your video it really has inspired me to build my own kit and I have bought much of the items in this video. I was hoping you can give me some advice, I have the SmallRig iPhone 13 pro cage and I was wondering what Lenses you can recommend me to buy that would fit and they’d be no dark corners or it interfere with filming? Any help would be very much appreciated
Great video. Question: - I had a cage from small rig, but the moment (m) mount seemed loose that i was afraid it would cause the lens to drop off. With this new cage how did you find the tightness of the moment lenses. Was it as secure as a moment case?
The fit is just perfect. Not too tight but not lose at all. It is very good fit. I am only worried about attaching filters. Still cannot find the right solution
Could you do this SmallRig setup on the Ronin SC gimbal? I've been having a tough one balancing this setup for some reason, and I cannot figure out why.
I've just used my iPhone 13 pro with the smallrig cage and a Moment gold anamorphic lens and I'm experiencing curved black bars along the two sides which are causing vignetting, both in stills and also , but to a lesser extent, in video taken on Filmic Pro. I'd be interested to hear if you too have experienced these issues.
Hey. Did you have any more thoughts on the iphone 13 pro max lenses adapter?! And also what’ is your opinion on the better anamorphic with ND filters? Many thanks. Dee
Thank you for this video. I have a Comica VD Live 10. I was wondering if it will work with any of your gimbal Stabilizers. I notice the zhiyun is not open ended like the OM4
Hi…. I am doing ok. Had a busy day but now it is just easy evening doing nothing…. Only reading and responding all lovely comments… have a great weekend
I have been looking at the Moment Neutral density filter for my I-phone 13 Pro. When the new moment case comes out how will the filter attach. My iPhone always is in a protective case. The old set up for a Moment was a big clamp and a screw. I did not like the idea of screw pressure on the front screen. In my full frame and drone world most of the newest ND setups are magnetic. Is Moment going to offer this set up when their new case comes out? I am using a Caselogy case because it has the best camera bump or “hump” protection. I actually keep my phone in a micro fiber pouch to protect the lens elements. I like small rig products but I only use them with my Sony and Nikon. Real cameras…🤣🤣 just kidding I got some great video out of my old iPhone 10R. My IPhone 13 Pro costs as much as a Sony 6400 and lens. So I practice safe Camera practices with my IPhone.
Update I just bought a Kase Square magnetic ND filter setup to try. I bought it on Amazon so if it does not work out I can return it. I really hardly use a CP but use a ND all the time. I am not that interested in starting a glass collection for my phone. I have a Nikon Z9 ordered so that will be my go to video device…

Great review as usual 😀. The crane 3 is insane but also on the expensive side a little. If you use the smalrig setup I guess you are already in the heavy Filmerstellung league and then the Crane 3 is perfect. For me and for now the Smooth 5 is perfect.
Pozdrawiam serdecznie.
Great video Zdenka, I tried the same smallrig mount in my iPhone 12 ProMax, but now they only develop these cages with bayonet lenses, 12 nd 13 iphones, what I dont understand because in iPhone 11 Pro Max they sold it in bayonet and 17mm thread. I contacted them to see why didn't the make removable plates so you could interchange them depending on what lenses you whant to use. My only solution was to remove the plate leave the cage and use a 17 mm adapter clamp. But they should think in the customers who onws 17mm thread lenses and filters.
Thanks for doing this video, I was curious how the cage would work with the m3 gimbal. I also wanted to test if the gimbal could manage a microphone attached to the cage. With the m3 gimbal app, is there option to do object tracking and filming similar to the smooth5?

Very interesting and informative, products, hopefully I can have that too🥰🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you very much….
Great review video. Thanks for sharing.
You are very welcome
Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍🌹👍👍

NEW SUB... found your channel and there is so much knowledge here !!! I have a WEEBILL S that I want to use as a set up for my IPHONE 13..do you suggest using the smallrig cage OR no case at all when placing in the phone mount . THANK YOU!
I think you will need some sort of cage or phone holder attachment… that could work too
Thanks for the great video. It was very informative like usual. I was curious if the new version of the Moondog Labs V2A fixed the dark corner issue? I checked the description but didn't see any notes about it. Also, do you recommend any specific ND and cpl filters that are in the 52mm size?
Yes the new version is perfect… no issues
I love smallrig products!
Thank you very much for sharing
Great video and info, I just got my Iphone 13 pro max in the mail 2 days ago and I'm still looking for cases online 👍
Thank you very much for sharing… enjoy your new phone
I have to buy cage for my iPhone 13 pro max. Thanks for good review
You are very welcome
I actually like the 52mm better, 67mm just looks so huge 😂 but whatever gets the job done 🙏🏽💯
Yes I like the smaller too
Lol I had a 12 inch black and white the whole family watched! my iPad is bigger than that now!
Right? The same here
I love the music at the beginning.
@@ZdenkaDarula thanks Zdenka. I’ll take a look at the link. Do Moment cases work with Ulanzi lenses?
Waiting for your review about the new gimbal zhiyun smooth 5… 😒
Thank you very much… coming soon
Hi Zdenka, hope all is good with you 🙂
I've just bought the 13 Pro Max version of this case and it arrived yesterday.
Slan,
Rob
Thank you very much for sharing and congratulations on your new phone. I would probably get telephoto lens as this can give you a very different look. It will look kind of like from a DSLR camera.
@@ZdenkaDarula Excellent. I’ll have a look at some M mount telephotos so as they should work with the case straight out of the box. Thank you Zdenka 👍
Thanks again for your advice Zdenka 🤓
I am sorry I am not familiar with Sandmarc lenses
Hello Zdenka =) thanks for video =) i'm thinking about moment's things too, but now i just ordered and recieved the clamp for 52mm filters =) so it is suitable with mine 50mm nikon lens filters =)
Thank you very much for sharing
Hello Zdenka, I really loved your video it really has inspired me to build my own kit and I have bought much of the items in this video. I was hoping you can give me some advice, I have the SmallRig iPhone 13 pro cage and I was wondering what Lenses you can recommend me to buy that would fit and they’d be no dark corners or it interfere with filming? Any help would be very much appreciated
Thank you very much for your comment. I use Moment lenses and they are honestly great
How about Beast Grip? What is your experience with that?
I unfortunately never had a chance to try it so I don’t know… but I assume it is similar
@@ZdenkaDarula thanks. I have it in my amazon cart
💕very nice very beautiful very nice mobile 🌻❤🌹
Thank you very much
I have a question can we use the moment lenses on the ultrawide lens using the smallrig iphone rig?
Only the lenses made for rhat
Could you do this SmallRig setup on the Ronin SC gimbal? I've been having a tough one balancing this setup for some reason, and I cannot figure out why.
I unfortunately don’t have that gimbal so I cannot confirm. I don’t see a problem though
I’m sorry to hear this. I don’t have such issues but I’m using different filter
First view 👍🔥💯.. expecting heart symbol and comment pls
Yes I am here…. Cheers
good looking beautiful today ....
Thank you very much for your support
Hey. Did you have any more thoughts on the iphone 13 pro max lenses adapter?!
And also what’ is your opinion on the better anamorphic with ND filters?
Many thanks.
Dee
Unfortunately all stays the same. The version two of Moon dog adaptor works but it is very tight
Thank you for this video. I have a Comica VD Live 10. I was wondering if it will work with any of your gimbal Stabilizers. I notice the zhiyun is not open ended like the OM4
It should be working…. It should not really matter which microphone you use
Can I use the iPhone 13 Pro cage for the iPhone 13 since the two phones are the same size, but the camera is different??
I am not sure … if the size is different I am not sure
Can you say please .. as i understood about M3 there no modes for phone (like hyperlapse / motionlapse -like Smooth 5 has ) ?
Unfortunately, no, there is no smart phone app with that
Hi can u plz suggest best vlogging app on android
Tnqs n regards
On android???? Your native camera app should be awesome
And then your phone rings! :)
Right? 😂😂
Hello.. How are you.. Great video as always.. :)
Hi…. I am doing ok. Had a busy day but now it is just easy evening doing nothing…. Only reading and responding all lovely comments… have a great weekend
Great 👍 item wished they did it for iPhone 11 Pro not just iPhone 11 Pro max ☹️
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts

Thank you very much for sharing…. Yes it is quite difficult to find the perfect set for our needs….
Ahoj Zdenka!
Have you tried to use this cage with moment lens on Moza Mini P? I have problems with vibration…☹️
That would mean that the Kimball needs to be stabilized better and also change the strength of motors in the settings
Używam drugiej wersji adaptera Moondog V2a z iphone 13 pro i jest OK. Proszę o ile to możliwe o więcej testów obiektywów Moment. Świetny videoblog. Pozdrawiam serdecznie z Polski.
English please….
@@ZdenkaDarula I am using the second version of the Moondog V2a adapter with the iphone 13 pro and it is OK. I am asking for more Moment lens tests if possible. Great videoblog. Best regards from Poland. ☺️
Esto es mas que genial 😃
Hm…. English please?
@@ZdenkaDarula This is more than great
@@elchupon30 thank you very much again
Your room needs sound treat and invest in a good mic aswell
I’m surprised to see the comment as ever since I created the set up I never heard any complaints for last two years. Lol.. I think it is more about the video editing.. This video is old and recently learned a lot of new things.
❤
Thank you very much
Is this cage working with iphone 13 pro max ?
No, it is only working with 13 pro as that is a smaller phone. However, they also sell larger size for 13 promax.
♥♥♥
Thank you very much
Is it worth to buy IPhone 13 Pro instead of iPhone 13 for filmaking? The difference is 250 euro.
I prefer the pro version…
Great review as usual 😀. The crane 3 is insane but also on the expensive side a little. If you use the smalrig setup I guess you are already in the heavy Filmerstellung league and then the Crane 3 is perfect. For me and for now the Smooth 5 is perfect.
Thank you very much for sharing…. Well crane 3 looks fantastic but has many flaws too unfortunately… I’ll share all of it in review
Can i shoot portrait with m3?
Yes
@@ZdenkaDarula Thank you! I've been looking for this answer since ages. Do you think the 13 pro max will work? This is the phone I use.
Pozdrawiam serdecznie.
Ważyłem swojego iphona 13 pro z klatką SmallRig i waży 295g, więc zostaje więcej w zapasie. Ważyłem na dwóch dokładnych wagach.
English please
@@ZdenkaDarula I weighed my iPhone 13 pro with a SmallRig cage and it weighs 295g so there is more to spare. I weighed on two exact weights. ☺️
Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts…. I know they kind of make you buy all things all over again
Smallrig do a 17mm thread plate
@@DoctorMikeReddy Yeah, but I'm afraid it is only for iPhone 11 pro max, do you have the link? Thanks in advance!
Thanks for doing this video, I was curious how the cage would work with the m3 gimbal. I also wanted to test if the gimbal could manage a microphone attached to the cage. With the m3 gimbal app, is there option to do object tracking and filming similar to the smooth5?
You are very welcome…, unfortunately M3 has no app for smartphones so no tracking
Шкода але в мене лише 8 айфон І мої відео ніякі
Thank you very much…. English please
