I'm speechless. Seriously what did Marilyn do to these people to cause so much bitterness? That was one of the most condescending things I've heard about Marilyn and you know there's a lot. These people honestly think millions of people flocked to see Monroe movies because she couldn't do anything? That last bit there implies they were trying to prevent her from being a star. Poor Marilyn with these kind of people around her no wonder she had no confidence in herself.
MArylin var not a very nice person! Not at all like the person in "My Week With MArylin".. If you listen to people talk about her, almost no one has nice things to say about her! LAuren Bacall and LAurence Olivier does all so not have a lot of nice things to say about her
And lets be honest.. She was not a good actor or a good dancer or a good singer :-)
I think Joe was right in his analysis; he was saying her "talent" was undefineable. Also, I am suspect Marilyn cause these directors endless frustration when (understandably now because of her many illnesses) she behaved wildly unprofessionally in a town full of actresses ready to work efficiently and hard.

He said good things about Marilyn, Howard Hawks said the most horrible things about her. "In real life noone would take her out." WTF?! SO PITTY, JEALOUS AND MEAN! Does a beautiful sexy woman need to have someone to f@ck her all te time in order to prove that she looks good, or else she is ugly for stupid, insane losers?
