Learning Old Norse Through Music 📜 Our song 'Beautiful Lady' translated to Old Scandinavian

We’ve tried something a bit different in this video. We’re talking about how we used the translation of our music to learn a new language. It all came about because of a desire to see if we could translate one of our songs into a new language.
We had the song Beautiful Lady (Snjall Jungfrú ) translated to Old Norse and had a great time trying to learn how to pronounce and sing it.
➡️ Beautiful Lady is a song that was initially inspired by an email we received from a man in the United Kingdom. He had been inspired to write a poem after listening to our music - and it made us want to create a song that was inspired by the poem.
The poem was about a love story and provided the basis for what became the song. After we created it we thought it would be interesting to try to sing the song in a new way. It was then that we came up with the idea to try to translate it into Old Norse.
➡️ Neither of us spoke Old Norse - but with the help of a translator we were able to translate the lyrics into Old Norse and record a new interpretation of the song. We hope you enjoy it - and may be inspired to learn languages through music yourself.
