Like always you have made an amazing soundscape composition. I have been watching your videos for a long time now and really appreciate how you can pull such colorful worlds of sound out of the ether, moving so seamlessly through ideas.
Thats super kind of you Les. One never knows how it will turn out but that is definitely part of the attraction!
Thank you so much for your video! Now I probably started to understand how Depeche Mode created some sounds and effects for their Violator album 👍
You're very welcome! Now I know that D Mode used an analog four on one of their albums!
@@GaryHayes they used, but not for that album.) Actually, algorithms of work for automation are more important, than hardware itself. And you showed it.🤝
Best A4 sound I've ever heard. In other youtube videos it sounds like a toy. I knew A4 may sound better (:
Wow, thanks! anton - appreciated!
Really, really awesome. I’m glad I came across this vid. Now I want to make music.
Cheers Luctae - go for it!
fantastic development of the performance!
cheers Anton, appreciated !
Re-discovered these tutorials. Love them and they really inspire me to continue to make new music with A4mk2. I also have the grey version. To me, the grey color has more ”character” than the black one, but they are both beatiful machines👍
Cheers Erik and totally agree
Great

Amazing track and insane how quick you can put all of this together. The A4 has been the most challenging of my Elektron boxes. Not necessarily using it, as it works just like the others, but definitely have more of a challenge getting the sounds I like out of it. I keep thinking about selling it but this video has urged me to work more with it.
Glad you enjoyed it Ryan - yes for some the A4 has a very limited sonic range, but I think it can be pushed into many new directions. Definitely spend some quality time with it!
Favourite A4mk2 one yet. Amazing how you take it somewhere else. And all in one 16 note sequence.
Cheers Greg - certainly the fun is just following your nose sometimes - I suppose with trig conditions the 16 note sequence becomes more varied vs a loop, and playing live melodies over the top also, and constant sound design...
Great stuff, took the plunge on the A4 after your videos. Thanks for the inspiration! 🙌🏼
Great to hear Sindre - it is my fave bit of music tech for sure ... enjoy
Fantastic improv. Love it. 👍👏
Glad you like it Ken appreciate you checking them all out
Thx for these amazing tutorials! Finally gettin to know this monster!✌️
Glad you like them! Yes could spend a lifetime getting under the bonnet of the A4
Sublime! A wonderful piece of music and a wonderful tutorial. Fair play and thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Adam - thank you for listening!
Sounds great.
Those sounds you create there are great too
Thank you kindly! Zac
I realy love IT...... And very Nice tutorial in it! 5/5
Glad you like it! KM
Amazing mate
Cheers Owen
Nice finishing!
thanks mate
Fucking love it..
cheers Azer
Excellent! :)
thank you Mariusz
After getting the Octatrack and the Rytm, i am hooked on Electron devices. So will probably need to get this one as well. That sayed, if i sell my other gear i will probebly miss a ployphonic synth. I know you can use the four tracks op the analog four as a polyphonic synth but then there are no more tracks left.
Yes I often use a MicroFreak alongside my A4ii - the MF is very affordable and gives you polyphony. Other poly's I use alongside it and several videos of the two together include the Hydrasynth, Minilogue XD, JV1080 and even Volca Keys! Would recommend not using the A4ii as a poly synth at all, a great 4 track mono and with sound locks each track can have lots of different sounds as you know being an elektron user ...
@@GaryHayes I guess my hydra synth gets to stay. 😊
Such great tutorials, thanks! Is there a #7, it seems that you skipped from #6 to #8...
Thanks Cozido - I think I did a 7 but deleted it ... must do some more!
you should work for elektron :)
Haha - I think I need to do more 'trendy' music though :)
Top 👍🏻 Abo
🤙
i was only going to get difitone and digitakt im starting to think i might as well just get this...? what you think of this and digitone for a bedroom setup..loved it by the way
Cheers Daz - for me the joy of the A4ii is the simple programming features - live adjustments to the sound and endless modulations. I have a digitakt and cycles but they have very limited performance programming, so it depends on what you need. I am not sure of the digitones programming capability for example
What BPM is this running at trying to follow this tutorial and nothing I do sounds the same
Pretty sure it is 65bpm but all tracks apart from 4 are set to half speed scale ... hope that helps
Gary P Hayes what do you mean by half speed scale ?
@@owenkitto27 so in recent updates to all elektron machines you can now set the speed ratio of the track against the master clock. So if the main tempo is 120bpm you can click on FUNCTION/PAGE and set each track to be either 1x that speed or 1/8X, 1/4X,1/2X, 3/4X, 1X, 3/2X and 2X ... so 1/2x means the track is effectively 60bpm and 1/8x means it is a staggering 15bpm - this is great for long chord sequences where you don't need the resolution (semi quavers) but want song like structures against a repeating faster bass/drums ... also using scales like 3/4x you can get some pretty complex true polyrhythm sequences going 3s against 4s. Hope that helps?
also there is another tutorial I did a couple of months ago on polyrhythm and track scales
Gary P Hayes where is the function page I am quite new to this mate
