Yeah but against what? Doesn't matter really since chess is a great way for kids to occupy time while learning something similar to math and music. I coached a high-school once: Parkway Gamma, 1990. They were 0-3 when I got them, 5-5 and finished third by the end of the year, with a 9-1 win in their final two matches, every game won in 25 moves or less. I was very proud of them. I wasn't even at the match their teacher called me to tell me what my work had done. I never coached a school again after that.

@@raygordonteacheschess5501 Against what? I am not sure I understand. Against other players in the USCF chess tournaments. Also about 6 of my kids were good enough to play in the NY state chess championships. One of my students won first place in his rated section. Congratulations to your players!

@@dakotasuris1740My playing strength in the opening is around 3200. I once beat Anton Korobov (2688) in fifteen moves with Black in the main line of the QGA (I play that opening perfectly through 15-20 moves and never get a worse position). I'm chasing the world chess championship though I did win the Wagner JHS championship in 1981 without ever opening a book. I wouldn't teach kids these openings because they are shortcuts, not fundamentally sound. Bobby Fischer told me never to rely on tricks even if it meant losing at first. When he's your first chess teacher and gives you all his personal research after he retires you don't really listen to others, though Fischer was incredibly weak in the opening compared to what people think of him. I stopped playing his repertoire within two years of my first tournament game.
With that said, this guy's videos helped me fix my repertoire, though most of it was mine. He provided a key ingredient by reminding me of something I used to do that I forgot. Right now I'm workign on getting my middlegame to 3200+ and then I should be able to get my rating over 3000.

And to anyone who doesn't believe me, I'm taking bets where others lay 50-1 against me winning the title (money has to be in escrow $5,000 against my 100) within seven years. No one has taken the bet.

Hey Gunjan!! I have a wonderful video suggestion!! Can you please do dirty chess tricks in the Nakhmanson Gambit as white? Almost nobody heard of it and I hear it's a good weapon!!! Happens after 1. e4 e5 2. Nf3 Nc6 3. Bc4 Nf6 4. d4 exd4 5. 0-0 Nxe4 and the gambit starts with 6. Nc3 sacrifice!!!! Black accepts with 6. dxc3 then white plays 7. bishop captures f7 bam!! Sacrificing a second piece!! 7. Kxf7 8. Qd5+ winning the knight back!! Ke8 and after 9. Re1 that knight is not going anywhere and black lost the right to castle!!!! Also white is still down a piece after regaining that knight but you need to know how to win as white doing such a crazy gambit!!!! Would be the most exciting video. Thanks!!!! Your work is greatly appreciated!!!!!

At 3:00, Queen to e-7. If queen takes pawn at b-7, black queen checks king, queens exchanged on a check by black bishop and e-4 is under attack by knight. Not at all a losing position. If bishop takes pawn on a check, black queen takes bishop, Queen takes pawn. Black queen to c-4. If queen takes rook, black bishop to b-4 check. However white defends, pawn or knight, bishop will take and check again, white takes and black Queen takes on a check and trapping the white rook. King has to move and black king will castle. This saves the black knight and the white rook will still fall. Black will be up a piece, have a safe king and white's king will be in trouble.

Question - how to respond if after white bishop to C3, black bishop to G4, white pawn to H3, black bishop to H5, then white pawn to G4? Was just destroyed after taking with bishop, so guessing there's a better move... thanks GJ_Chess!

My previous post was accurate about the queen taking the pawn. It was NOT accurate about if the bishop takes the pawn. The queen still takes the bishop but if the white queen takes the pawn the correct mo..ve is to move pawn to c-6. The white queen must retreat. If the white queen takes the rook, black queen to c-7 traps the queen. When black king castles the white queen will fall to the rook when the black knight moves!
