I love that you are building a community on here. I know that my friends become family to me, so here's to new friends that become family and to new adventures! 🥂
Willow is so smart! What a cutie! Love watching the sailing on the lake! They had an interesting modified mainsail to use in heavy wind! Looked like a fun time!
Kudos. I've seen a lot of sailing video photography from sailing content creators not nearly as well photographed as this. I hope you had a great time on the water - it looks like you were. 🙂 One nit: at 5:36 (ua-cam.com/video/l6ALQ035nj8/v-deo.htmlsi=tOmmWAV4bLxNeuuz&t=336) the instruments on this boat are somehow configured incorrectly. There's NO WAY that boat was going 23.5 mph. (SOG means "speed over ground") I've done a huge amount of sailing over the years, a lot of it on 30' keelboats, and some on bona-fide Catalina 30s. Typical sailing speeds for a well sailed boat on a very windy day for a Cat 30 will be 5 to 7 knots, i.e. 6 to 8 mph. In wavy conditions, surfing down the back of a large wave (ocean type waves, not the ones on tahoe) speeds of 10 or 11mph are possible.
Re-reading this comment this morning, I sound like "grumpy old man on the internet." Sorry about that, I was pretty tired last night. I did enjoy your beautifully photographed video, and getting to sail on Tahoe is a rare treat not to be missed.
You’re correct (and not grumpy… LOL)! The (new) equipment was needing calibration. 😅 We had a great time and look forward to further and other missions with Dan and Bri 😊

Thanks for your kind comment! No worries on instruments aspect. Brad is aware and looking to get that fixed.
