      I have heard several sounding like that over the decades. You are using the personal incredulity fallacy because you have never heard of it. But obviously it doesn't make a claim simply untrue.
      Then stating they have a sheltered life because of it is confusing. As it's either a crappy insult: I.E. the ad hominem attack. Or you answered basic criticism with random criticism: I.E. the tu-quoquo fallacy.
      It's actually not racist at all, just because one stated of a personal observation doesn't directly mean racism in general.
      Perhaps those who use black and white cannot be racist at all since nobody are those colors in general.
      The only "black" man I've seen is a man coming out of a fire. And the only "white" man I've seen is a man who got paint dumped on him.
      Otherwise if you mean in general: brown and peach/red/orange, or whatever the skin tone is; it's still a non-conceived persona of black that is a perpetual cycle of ignorance.
      If you feel like replying, cool, if not, cool. I have work in the morning; so if you do respond. Please don't with an undertoned remark otherwise the conversation is therefore automatically over.
      ~Edit~
      Spelling mistakes.

      Erva Asena Bozkurt (edit this comment is really long) yes well at school when I was younger I learnt I was a quarter aboriginal from my fathers side then in year four (or fourth grade) we learnt about the colonisation and I somewhat felt insulted as the teachers admitted that the aboriginals lived a perfectly fine life and still were on the English side but then in year five (fifth grade) our teacher was from the uk and because of that we pretty much had to learn about the whole thing again only just with more detail and still even was on the English’s side but made us wright 5 thing good about captain cook and I was the only one who didn’t write colonisation of aus
      But now to it being dangerous, it’s a common stereotype and I can say that Australia has very liveable cities that are actually being protested for too much waste but the only thing dangerous in there is 1.peek hour traffic 2. Drug heads. 3.pedophiles but still I’ve encountered none and I live right near the capital Melbourne but unless your just out in the bush were it’s just desert, then yes dangerous as we have well old worlds snakes spiders and even lizards because if just a little bearded dragon bites you in the wild you could get very sick as they put their tongue on anything they bite for grip so imagine a lizards spit in your open cut. And I have a pet bearded dragon, he bit me and drew blood but to him it wasn’t even a bite he would’ve just closed his jaw on a finger because their teeth are sharp!

      Well it always depends on the spider's personality. My A. geniculata sometimes bites my tweezers because it confused them for food and kicks her hairs fairly often.
      Had a P. lugardi before as well but she died for no apparent reason. She basically exchanged the urticating hairs for hissing and more aggressive nature.

      Vi Xenxia but aggressive also means more interesting (no urticating setae means they are more confrontational; a threat posture is the coolest thing there is, wouldn't you agree?) and they're good to learn, that Ts aren't toys. Also they tend to have crazier colours, so that's a thing, too. Cheers

      I think it has something to do with size, a lot of people are terrified of small insects but don't have problems with large insects like Hercules or Rhino beetles. I think we tend to associate large insects in the same category as mice, where its more common to find them cute rather than disgusting or creepy.

    I have to say, your comment about Houdini reminded me of one of my own experiences.
    I was housesitting in the UK when I saw a huge house spider coming in my direction (huge as in about 3 inches; the normal size for house spiders in the UK is around 1-2 inches). Although I love watching spiders and find them fascinating, I really don't like those house spiders near me and so I promptly moved to the other side of the room and stood there paralyzed with terror. It reached the shadow of the chair I'd been sitting in and stopped. I moved or knocked something - I can't remember what - and that spider moved so fast it literally vanished in front of my eyes.
    For anyone wondering what happened next, the story has a somewhat happy ending; after The Giant House Spider had kept coming out for a couple of nights and royally freaking me out each time, I decided to name him, on the basis that if you name something, you get attached to it, and if you get attached to it then hopefully it won't scare you quite so much. So he (she?) went from The Giant House Spider to "Rufus".
    It actually worked too; after a few days Rufus and I had reached a point of peaceful coexistence and I used to worry about him if I didn't see him for a couple of nights XD

    • @T-1001
      @T-1001 6 років тому +3

      I'm not a big fan of house spiders which is annoying as they seem to grow huge where I live. Not uncommon to see 5 inch specimens. Even had 6 inch bastard once which was really grey. I'm guessing that one was a really ancient female.

    • @JudasFm
      @JudasFm 6 років тому +18

      Well, Rufus always stayed in the lounge except for one time when he took it into his head to visit the bathroom. I don't know how he avoided getting squished, but I just know I wrapped the towel around myself after a shower and caught sight of him out the corner of my eye; he was sitting on my shoulder.
      If it had been any spider but Rufus, I would have probably screamed loud enough to burst my neighbor's eardrums. Since it was Rufus, I just took the towel into the lounge and let him run off (he seemed to have a little home in the far corner, although I never saw it and never investigated too closely).
      Giving spiders goofy-sounding names really works!

    I've been binge watching a few of your vids now. I don't have arachnophobia and tarantulas seem pretty cool. Keep up with the nice refreshing contents! 💯❤️

    "what to do when a tarantula starts kicking at you:
    first things first, you want to back away from it, you dont want to go close and be like-"
    *snorts tarantula hairs*
    WHY IS THIS SO FUNNY?

    Video suggestion: and granted I haven’t seen all your videos, I only just started watching about a week ago but would love to see a video on what are some research topics or questions to ask yourself when looking to get a tarantula. I already know I would be more comfortable with a New World but then what goes into having one that webs and one that borrows? Etc. maybe just how you got started figuring out what you were comfortable with and such. Thanks for your videos!
