I must say that I really enjoyed your interpretation. I had to play this for the funeral of the pianist at my church and only got the music a few days before the funeral. Needless to say, I had to burn the midnight oil in order to get it under my fingers. I was in a workshop with Mark Hayes this past weekend and heard him play it. I prefer your tempo to his more up tempo performance. He really is a wonderful arranger and pianist as well. One can't go wrong playing any of his music.
Nicely played! Not as fast as other recordings but you have made up for it with expressiveness. I'll definitely be modelling my own interpretation based on this one.
piano4Christ Some people play it so fast there's no opportunity to savor the sounds. Playing at the speed you do truly lets all the feeling come thru. Love it.
@@morganpiaffe Actually, in his notes Mark Hayes instructs the pianist not to rush. When I play this, I "savor" certain phrases, because I know my congregation is 'singing along in their mind" as I play.
That is beautifully played! I hear a distict influence of Baptist or Pentecost and dearly missed Anthony Burger? You have the touch... Incredibly blessed! I hope to continue watching you serve our Lord in the best way us pianists know how. God bless and thank you for the inspiration
@@piano4christ125 Anthony Burger cannot hold a candle to Mark Hayes. Burger drums along like Dino or Liberace. Not really appropriate for many church services.
hello :) can I get sheet music by e-mail? there is no music sheet in Korea. I need a sheet music right away, but it takes too long to ship overseas. plz help me !
Highly recommend you check it (if you've not already) the recording of this by Esther Shin Chuang on UA-cam. With some hard work, I think you could take it to that level. Again, blessings.
chen0466 I liked Esther’s but it was very loud and fast most of the time, whereas this performance breathes, which lets you enjoy many of the subtler aspects of the song. Performing versus Emoting.
@@ctbozzzz everyone has their preferences for certain .... but it looks like Esther has the endorsement of Mark Hayes, who arranged this setting. That's a strong endorsement. Blessings,

An emotion of heart felt Praise and Worship! Beautifully played
A melhor execução que ouvi até hoje. Bravo!!!!

Thanks-- I guess since it's my favorite hymn, and my favorite hymn arrangement, I didn't want it to end as quickly, so I played it slowly. :-)

Thank you! I am neither Baptist nor Pentecostal nor familiar with Anthony Burger, but maybe Mark Hayes is? ☺

I can’t argue with that! And I should add, I watched Esther’s twice. :) She’s clearly very advanced.
Great performance, inspite of few little mistakes... Bravo!!!
The last note is supposed to be the highest C on the piano.
this comment made a few mistakes, but overall it seems well-wished. lol
