Just be glad that you've got people in your life that you can talk to and be with. There's lots of people in this world that have absolutely nobody and who are completely invisible. So be grateful

Healthy relationships are built from the ground up.
      Doc Snipes taught me how.
      Must operate and require her
      C.R.A.V.E.S.
Coming from a dysfunctional family, those instructions have totally changed how I interact with people and who I let in my world
      For my sanity and peace.

This is really helpful. My family is working with grief and stress this Christmas. Mom died in February and so this is our first Christmas without her. Dad is in the hospital for the second time after a fall. This year the focus has been on his health. Siblings are under alot of stress. My pun is that "We need a 'little'Christmas ". That is.. . Christmas this year needs to be "little". Fingers crossed that we navigate the holidays and come out rested and ready to cope with the challenges of 2023. Your videos rock! So good!

I had to comment on a recent video, because the Sociological Model comments are blocked. Please make more Sociology videos! That was my undergrad area, and I love how it helps people understand why “others” do things they might not do. I’m into the advocacy role, and Sociology breaks down why people need it, and the barriers they may be facing. Your channel is a treasure trove for Addictions students, like me!

Thank you so much for sharing this! It sounds like you’re already making progress by becoming more aware of how stress and triggers affect you-self-awareness is such a powerful step in creating change. The holidays can bring up a lot of emotional challenges, so it’s great that you’re exploring strategies to stay grounded this year.
Remember, it’s okay to give yourself permission to pause when things feel overwhelming. Some tools that might help you stay centered include:
      • Pre-planning boundaries: Decide in advance what situations feel safe and when you might need to step away.
      • Grounding techniques: Try deep breathing or the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding exercise when stress builds.
      • Self-compassion: Remind yourself that it’s okay to have difficult feelings and that you’re doing your best.
If you found this video helpful, please consider sharing it so others can benefit from these strategies too. For more tools on emotional regulation and stress management, visit DocSnipes.com/Clones
