+2darkoman how do the clipons compare to the original handlebars? I really love this bike, just wished it not that complicated, everything takes soo much time with a V4!
+N13L6 first I tried with a drug bar istead of the original bar, but it was too high and looked as a drugster and not a caferacer. then we slided the fork up to dowm a little bit the bike and put a clipons. the biggest problems was to limit steering cause otherwise clipons hit the tank. and you need to do a lot of tests with the perfect ergonomical position of clipons because otherwise you risk a lot of pain in arms after an hour of driving
Beautiful motorcycle, I just bought one just like it, but I have problems with the carburetors, 2 of them got clogged, and do you know if it has a fuel pump?
really I don't remember. I found it on ebay new custom for vf750 (it should be the same for all vf750 - c s and f). paid something like 150euros both collector 4-1 and the terminal part
actually I don't remember if we cut the tail but I think not - it is still original. For sure we cut the fuel tank but not the tail. We also did a fiberglass minitail but didn't touched the metal
I see that you said you used the base of the original seat. So did you just get new foam fitted to that base? or how did you get the seat to look like that? thank you, awesome bike!
yep. We cut the edges of the old original seat, applied hotgun on the ending to bend it down and created a new seat with leather handmade by the local leather working shop. Original sit plastic basis is longer and larger so it ned to be cut, but it worth using the original base cause of sitting spots and locking mechanism
@@DarkOman Awesome, so you cut the edges of so it wouldn't overhang and it would be flush with the frame? So did you use new foam for the seat? if so what do you recommend? Also what handlebars did you get?
@@Hapsrealdad yes. New foam for seats (I don't know the specs cause it was done by professional company basing on my own design). As for handlebars initially I put handles like sportbike style (clips) directly on the ammortisators. But due to the distance from the seat (this is quite long bike) the position was too unconfortable so I desided to use one so cold "dragbar" so that the position is much better
@@DarkOman I know this is old, and I don't know if you'll see this reply, but did you change the frame at all? Like maybe cut the back a little shorter or anything like that? I ended up purchasing different bikes, but would love to attempt a sabre build like this but with a v65
@@Hapsrealdad the frame is original, no mods at all if not some minor changes just to make it "lighter" in look. I don't advise you to begin to make some custom on this bike if not only to make some exposition stand-only item. This model is too complicated and sophisticated to work with. You risk to spend a lot of money and don't arrive to nowhere cause you couldn't just understand what is wrong especially with carbs.
Just grabbed an 84 for 300$ lol can't wait to get it chopped n modded I'm sure its gonna make a fine edition to my collection ( if it comes out nice as this one) though I have some more extreme ideas like chopping the subframe ( seat) completely off and rewelding it in a different position and put a curved, stretched, custom gas tank along with side intakes ( possibly supercharger lol) and a cool belly scoop lol of course drag bars, headlights, tail, seat, etc but with the v twin style engine I think it will look like a cheap knockoff of Confederate Hellcat lol now if I could find some clear crankcase and stator covers lol
In the US they stopped making the 750 in 84. They only made a 700 for 84 and 85 I'm gonna find an Interceptor with a 750 and do a swap. I don't like the interceptors so I don't feel bad for gutting one and I want the chain drive. I have an 84.
@@DarkOman chain drive is not as simple. It requires a lot of maintenance a shaft drive requires you to check fluid level once every few weeks. The reason I'm switching is power loss through rotational energy. Shafts have to turn a lot more weight than a chain resulting in losing about 23-31% of power in most applications compared to the 3 percent lost by a chain.
chain is simplier then shaft as the construction. It is simplier to repair, it is simplier to find in case it breaks. I had some dents broken on the shaft and it was quite difficult to find the replacement while once you replace entire mechanism - you can find whatever you like on the market for the chain mechanism. And the maintance of the chain as for me is simplier either - i put chain lubrificant on it regulary (on my other bike) and when it's time - just replace chain and gears. All this w/o talking about the weight
+Carlos Arriagada modifications are: tank (cut and treated inside) front fork (ex owner made alot of stupid modifications mistaking springs and tubes) back tail - made with fiberglass (if you need I still have a stamp) seat (used the base of the original, but cut the front side and downed the back side) armored front break tubes controll pannel leaved only two gauges (tacho and speed, cutting the info pannel in a middle) set a temperature gauge on the left side cause the termometer was on the middle info pannel a lot of cleaning inside of carburators - pain in the ass exhaust - a new 4-1 aftermarket tube think its all
Could you give me the referral of the velocimeter please? I would like to replace the big one from origin see here www.dropbox.com/s/y22rxqhyt257ec4/07_580x700.jpg?dl=0 I also would liketo remove the big air filter box could u give me some advices please? Thanx
))) for sure and some times I fall (thanx to other 4wheel riders). But I'm living in Italy and here in July not so simple to drive all equipped. The fact I'm already wearing tha jacket and the gloves - makes me already realy careful biker. Normaly in italy people wear just the helmet. Not for sport riding of caurse.
So you installed a "drug bar" ? and it looked to "drugster"?, forget de gramma and tell me why you think that by removing side covers, installing clips ons and a stupid seat that is not even close to a caferacer seat, you made a caferacer bike, why don't you research a bit how should look a caferacer bike and then open your mouth
ssory bro but drag bar was installed before clipons, now it is on the other bike. The sound unfortunately my cellfone cant transmit correctly. It's quite difficult to do caferacer from this kind of bike but it was curious project and I'm happy with that :)
Great machine! Also building one. It is nice that you kept fuctionality with the buddyseat.
yes, I made the bike for everyday using with the my girlfriend, so the idea was to build a functional bike, not promotional

Hi man, nice one bike, i am thinking of buying one from 83 , whats your thought on the bike? Fuel consum? Tips? Handeling? Thanks man!
The only problem these bikes have is they eat through cams. Do research on the oil feed recall mod . It will save your life.

its hand made. small italian manufacture Westernbull
