You might want to check out Daredevil Season 2 just for more of Frank's backstory and how his wife and kids really died. And one of the most awesome fight scenes ever.
yeah, we read about it and get that's far from the same as watching but that's about as far as we will go for now. we're into Punisher and not going back right now.
Nikki & Steven React now that your done with he Punisher and I think Jessica jones could you react to Daredevil season 1 and 2.Daredevil came before Jessica jones and the Punisher. And if you really liked the Punisher you will love daredevil more then Jessica jones I think.
"Why would you do that? You Douchebag! What's wrong with you" Oh I don't know, Maybe it's the fact that a killer has him strapped in a chair naked and knows now about his family????? I'd do the same damn thing!
Congrats on 1K! I knew you would love this episode. For a flashback/backstory episode, they really nailed it. You would have heard a little bit about that mission if you saw Daredevil, but hearing a summary and seeing how it actually played out are two very different things. That was amazing. This is just the beginning. Now they can get started.
Well, as I understand it, "The Boss" can both refer to Bruce Springsteen or the wife. "My wife is the boss of the family". What I liked about this episode was that the Punisher got hurt. Not just mow down X number of enemy and just casually walk away as in many other super-hero-movies. My favorit part was when Frank used a rock to hammer a enemy to death. Great reactions!
Well, regarding your comment of why Frank had Micro naked. I looked into torture. To have the person you want to torture naked, makes the person more vonubal (how do you spell it?). Sensitive, exposed. Makes the person who is tortured less human. Also, keeping the person awake with water it also a big part of torture. It about denying the person who is torture rest. It is a risky way of getting information because after a while, the person who is tortured will say anything to make it stop. I am looking forward your next reaction to episode four.
its called vulnerable...some will tell you the truth under torture, some will tell you anything. you have to check up on their information before relying on it. thats why torture is used, you may get the info you want. how do i know? a good friend was a navy seal and he told me about his training, the seals put you thru a course so if youre ever captured you can learn ways to try and get thru torture but he also said the military uses torture itself because untrained people will often give up real information in an attempt to stop the torture and yeah they will lie but like i said above verify everything they tell you.
OMG!! I just started this show, it took me a while to watch it, even though I loved him in Daredevil. I'm watching your reactions after every episode - SO good! Your reactions aren't bad either lol... Love you guys :)
ofc an other great reaction guys :) you rock. I hope you do not mind me leaving some references for you guys that you may have missed. I will try to keep it spoiler free :) there are a couple of fun book references in this episode.: first is the book Steven thought was strange that Frank was reading: Cyborgs and Barbie Dolls: Feminism, Popular Culture and the Posthuman Body is an examination of the concept of “posthumans”-people whose very existences defy the traditional definitions of humanity. Given that he’s a powerless vigilante living in a world full of super humans with fantastic abilities, the book is a fitting choice. And ofc the book Billy is reading in the flashback The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. This is kind of funny because Ben Barns actually played Dorian Gray in a movie. You didn't show this part but in the scene between Curtis and Billy (when Billy comes to dropp of a check.) Curtis refers to Billy as a man of wealth and taste. That is a line from the rolling stones "Sympathy for the Devil." (Sorry for going on for ages lol) I loved and hated that they played "Wish it was true" by White Buffalo during the fight scene. It broke my heart. BTW did you notice when Frank punches agent orange in the face he actually bursts the eyeball?? That is why there is no blood but this black goo running down his face. Again sorry for making such a long comment. Not even sure if you guys will bother reading this long winded comment. lol
Not sure if anyone else has suggested this, but you should watch daredevil. If only to see The Punisher storyline that occurs in season 2 of Daredevil. I was a naive viewer that watched The Punisher first and I am currently in the middle of DD S2 and loving more of Frank Castle!
1000 subs! WAHOOOOOOOOOOO! Glad you guys can see that this show is not supposed to be easy to watch;; its the only way to do Frank Castle justice as a character because of what he's been through and seen and how he enforces himself. It's an emotional journey with him showcasing how he became who he has become. You're *supposed* to be both repelled and scared by him but drawn in by him at the same time because he's compelling. He's a tragic character that elicits a lot of sympathy because of the severe trauma he's been through and continues to experience. I know yal haven't seen DD, so fun fact from that show;; on that mission Frank had 32 kills by himself when he infiltrated that compound. Glad you guys are enjoying it! :D ALSO LATER EDIT:: LOL IM STILL DYING AT "OH ITS OK I DONT NEED A GUN I HAVE KNIVES. *I HAVE A KNIFE* . *A* KNIFE. LOL
Yeah, it is very hard to watch but also impossible to turn away... I've got many fiends and family who have been in war and couldn't image what they've gone through. And Frank is an amazing character. Because of what he's been through, can't even be mad at him for how brutally he kills people. Easily one of the best characters I've watched in a show. - Steven
One of my favorite shows of all time. Of course, this is one of many shows @netflix cancelled and broke our hearts. OA, Sense8, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and dumping the Punisher hurt the most. OA a close second. I'm glad you enjoyed the show. Cheers!
Great reactions, as always! This series is crazy good. I love how much you're both enjoying the show! Btw, are you guys going to react to the new TWD mid-season premiere trailer?!
Congrats on passing 1000 subs you two. Have yet to watch the Punisher, but still loving your reactions. Only three more weeks until we get to see Carl die on TWD. Are you ready? :-)
I didn't catch it until a recent viewing of it, but the writers dropped a super subtle hint that (*SPOILER*) Russo was a bad guy. When Curtis was having the conversation with Billy after Billy donated to the therapy group. Curtis says to Billy, "A mover and a shaker. A man of wealth and taste." The second part of that line is a quote from the song Sympathy for the Devil by The Rolling Stones. That song is the devil talking to you, and talking about how he's been there for all these bad things. It's a blink and you'll miss it thing, but that is a seriously subtle hint about who Russo truly is, a bad guy.
I don't know of anyone mentioned in the comments but anyone who is a bad mutha and lived thru what he just did would definitely have ptsd for the rest of his life

Oh know this is a Frank getting angry scene, not obey or die scene, no CIA anywhere around, just his own guys. And you get to see the soldier, not the broken man.
The significance of them playing a "for the red white and blue" song in the background as a man beats another one to death with a rock to secure drug money for the government was a tad lost in translation I guess.
That was more than a flashback, that was an introduction to bad CIA assets. I don't mind Army Intel, which is a contradiction, but civilians in a unit, the soldiers always get fraked. Not pleasureably.
If you've had a fight lasted 2 minutes, that's like a life time, watch an MMA fight 2 minutes, that's why he's casual. Frank knows, that's a long time, and some beans, Infantryt needs beans.
I must be honest, I cannot tell I lie, I'm here because for whatever reason, no political ads are coming here, they're overwhelming all over youtube right now. LMAO @10:58 I LOooove Steven's reaction to his wife Nikki, when she is taken aback by Jon's arms. 😊
I don't understand how you could possibly be surprised that Micro would drug Frank...He was literally water torturing him for hours (days?).

?
Vinayak Shaji what?

@Vinayak Shaji why is a Marine's knife called a ka-bar?
