I just got myself a Hoya meredithii with 1 big leaf. I have it in my glass cabinet greenhouse and hope it won't take too long to start growing. Someone told me they like more water than other hoyas, but we shall see.
I find it easy to root :) You can root it in water or in a propbox in a potting mix - I rotted it in coco peat and perlite before, but really, very willing hoyas to root :)
I know! It's just stunning when you see it in person. Pictures don't do it justice at all! Oh, it's not very difficult, just make sure it doesn't get too cold :)
Mine os coming in today!. They truly are a pretty penny. Found mine on Etsy. Btw, how much light would you say you give yours? I'm gonna have mine under s grow light and I'm hoping she does well 💚🌱
I hope it is a good one. It will be worth it when you see it in person. So, I kept mine under a 36W cool-white LED light and it was a bit too much. It was 30 centimeters away from the light. So maybe either a weaker light or more distance from it.
I did try it for a bit, but I was worried about fungal and bacterial issues. I prefer to keep them warm, in well-ventilated space and in humidity around 60-70% :)
@@mariateresagatinao6832 I found a video on yt that explains the differences well. Basically, meredithii has a sharper and sudden leaf tip, is wider and rounder, and slightly more wavy. The point where the leaf meets the stem is also square whereas vitellinoides is a rounded shape. Hope that helps! They are not the same!
Oh, I am sorry! But I feel you. I keep my plants in my bedroom and I like to keep it at around 19 degrees of Celsius (I like to sleep in a cooler room xD) But I sacrificed that for the plants :D The house was heating anyways, but my radiators were mostly on the low setting in that room. I am trying a heat mat for some other, more finicky Hoyas, so I will let you know how that goes - maybe that can be your solution? We will see :)
Gorgeous hoya! Thank you for growing this beautiful plant!❤ Love your videos!
I am loving this series!!!!
I am happy to hear that! :D
This hoya is on the top of my wishlist! Not only is it absolutely beautiful, but it has my name! I wish it wasn't so hard to find!
I love it! It is much prettier in person. I had to order it from abroad too.

I just got this hoya last week and easily one of my favorites (that's if it doesn't die lol).

@@BasiePlants awesome, I think it will love my conditions then. Thanks for the quick reply and stay safe!
Hi Basie! 😊
Would you mind giving an update on this one regarding humidity higher than 60%? You said you would test 80% or so 😊

Thank you 😊
Is there any I don't like? No🤣
You doing great job with this videos ❤️
There are hoyas that I don't like 😅 Especially when they arrive half-dead 😬
What do you recommend to remove a fungus ?
I used biofungicide for mine :)
Funny. My meredithii is finally putting out leaves in my plant room and it is about 68F degrees in there.
Mine grows best if it’s above 20 degrees :) It had fungal spotting when it got lower than that.
Is meredithii same as vittelinoides?
Not to my knowledge.
@@BasiePlants I hope you can do a video to point out the difference between the two.
@@mariateresagatinao6832 If I ever get my hands on the other! :)

@@epasuxelar4473 Thank you. Yes, this helped.
Beautiful leaves but my house is much to cold to ever own one.
