Oh Liz, you are so lovely. I cannot believe how much you love your schoolchildren. You take so much care with your dressmaking to please the children which in turn gives you extra pleasure wearing your garments. Thank you for the inspiration. My name is Lin and I live on the beautiful Gower coast in South Wales so not very far from you really. Best wishes and keep up the vlogs, so enjoyable to watch, thanks.

Hi Liz, red is definitely your colour. I love your red dress on you. Also your half finished one. I think red, orange and green suits you. I like the green for the leggings.
I have never thought of batch cutting because once j have something cut out I want to get on with it. I like your idea with the A3 pockets. I could do with some A4 to put patterns in because when I have done tracing and cutting out, especially with pdf ones they are quite bulky.

Great vlog. I would suggest the green fabric for your leggings think the black will deaden all the lovely warm colours in your blouse 😍😍

I have another suggestion for your jumpsuit. You could separate the bodice and trousers with a band of ribbing or cuffing, like you see as a waistband for some joggers, in a matching navy. You could make it 2 or 3 inches wide and that might give you enough length. Or, you could use a navy jersey and shirr it with rows of elastic thread. Kind of an 80’s thing I think. Also, your coat fabric looks like soft shell to me. Water resistant on the smooth side, fleecy on the inside.

Ive made two of the Dorothy jackets. One was waxed cotton, bright yellow, and the other was a camo cotton drill. Your fabric looks super for that pattern. Im not sure I would use interfacing as Ivdid thst with the drill and it was too thick, didnt use it for the waxed cotton. The pattern itself is very easy to put together. I finished the seams on mine with bias binding on one and rainbow overlocking on the other, both looked good. I was scared of the snaps too but I bought a green machine and it made it so much easier. A bit of an investment but I have used it loads as my hubbie prefers snaps on his shirts. And you can use it for other things too. The hardest bit was sewing the casing over the top of the eyelets. Tip, use a slightly smaller eyelet as long as your cording fits through it. Makes the sewing of the drawstring casing much easier.

That cardigan is awesome! We tend to have similar fabric tastes; I think because we work with small people. They do love fun prints, don’t they?

Hi re the jumpsuit. How about adding a band of fabric between the bodice and trousers to resemble a belt. Add a buckle or. Ties. You could also re facethe neck or draft a shawl type collar from thr same material. I would use navy but you are really brave with colour and you have plenty of choice with the original fabric. Best of luck Angela Houlden

The Tessuti free Anita Ponti Pant is a bit looser in the calves then leggings but are super easy. I’ve made many pairs out of various knit fabrics.

I would add a shirred waist with the jersey between the bodice and trousers.

Loved your video, once again a brilliant and informative vlog. Just wanted to say I find the type of blouse you are trying to style out, I have had issues with before (aka tilly indigo), dress version is fine but I find the top hard to style. So my tips are skinny jeans, or fitted trouser ( the ultimate trousers would be great , also sasha trousers). If they don't work another idea would be to shorten the blouse, which is what I've done on numerous indigo blouses, it just makes it a bit more wearable, with high waisted trousers and skirts. Hope this helps

Great suggestions on the astronauts fabric. One thing I would bear in mind is that you are keen to show the print and if you gather the fabric you are likely to lose the print. You’ll still be able to see it’s a beautiful quality but you’ll miss the print itself. So it may be better with a flatter pattern to showcase the fabric. Just a thought. Going to watch rest of your video now.

I really think black leggings will def be beautiful with your blouse!! I don’t feel it would be harsh at all. The green will match also but I would go with black personally. 🥰☺️

I love all your Antheas. Would you think about adding a Peter Pan collar to the Lola Anthea? The moment I saw you hold it up I thought it would look fantastic with that addition. The jacket is going to be so pretty and useful. I always do a couple of practice snaps on the same number of layers of the same fabric that I am using. Cement floor and mallet are my preferred tools. That's only because I am too cheap to buy the proper tool when I don't use snaps very often

Hi Liz, well the spotty jumpsuit that was not best. If you do redo the top section I have a suggestion regarding the neck line. I have just done a mock up for the Kwik Sew 4158 pattern, now this pattern has a neck piece that I think would work really well with the v line neck on your jumpsuit. It would add a little more coverage and help give a little more strength, at least it looks that way to me.
As for that lovely mint green material you have ear marked for a jacket, it reminds me of the black out material you get for curtains. It has a slightly furry side and a sort of waxy side! If it is then may I suggest doing a sew test as I know that this type of material tends to be a bit like leather, once you have put a whole in it there is no going back.
That astronaut material, just pin the whole thing onto the wall and be done. It is just so brilliant, I would not be able to cut it myself.
Hope everyone in your house feels better soon and you all stay well and safe.

Another fun video, thanks! This week when I was looking through my patterns I pulled out the Charlie Caftan from Closet Core Patterns for my own plans and it occurred to me that it may also work beautifully for your astronaut fabric. For cooler weather you could then layer it over long sleeve tees created from any variety of colors from solids to abstracts to celestial designs such as galaxy prints.
