It looks a lot better than I expected. Strange that it had no publicity in the slightest.
I mean, 7 months ago it literally had a "Dark Man" trailer but that was silly because it was just the boss walking. No gameplay, but still asked for a pre order.
Only several days before launch, they showed a gameplay trailer.
So I guess it's reviews aren't that good.

@@user-vx6gs1ci1h Personally, I think it's because Atari/Infogrames marred the series name with stinkers like Illumination, so they had little faith in the game succeeding.

I like how, with no context, the final bit looks like it's just you going around with all the nice NPCs you probably met throughout the game, then less than a minute later it's full-on Blood Sacrifice cult, then a gore-fest where everyone just gets absolutely slaughtered at the drop of a hat.
This is almost exactly like that one game with the soldier fighting the hallucinations from his PTSD

Ok, maybe this game is far from perfect, but it seems to me a good starting point for the revamping of the franchise. Next I want Edward and Aline Cedrac!

holy shit final boss is a neat reference to one of lovecraft's outer gods. Might buy this game only for that reason :)
Wow, i've beated this game last weekend, and didnt even noticed that the game had bosses, apart from the last one. LOL.
and at the end , you discover that's a cult for Shub-Niggurath . Howard Philips Lovecraft universe !

I didn't fight The Beast, it's because I used the detective? So is there some replayability using the lady?
the beast is the only exclusive fight to playing Emily, everything else is pretty much identical

I'm personally convinced that wasn't Shub-Niggurath itself, it looked more like one of the former's Dark Young, both appearance-wise and in terms of MO.

So the final boss is a spectator?
The last boss fight is so bad. Let's put you in this tiny area with a massive boss and tons of other enemies that the boss spawns in. And on top of that, reloading takes forever and slows you down.
I thought it was super easy to be honest. Might be different with a controller or on hardest difficulty idk

I find it funny that the final boss looks like a monster from Overlord. I think they were called Baby Goats, which is pretty similar to The Black Goat of the Woods. Not criticizing the design, just pointing out a neat design similarity.
They.. are, there both a reference to Lovecraft's Shub-Niggurath there litteraly the same thing.

God that was one of the worst final bosses I’ve ever seen gameplay wise. It’s so stiff, it just stands there most of the time no doing anything at all
