He can kill armored units with a broken javeline on normal difficulty. On hard he can still two-shot any enemy (with a follow up attack, not in separate turns) with an iron lance. He can even one shot the Death Knight using tempest lance/parsalene/glowing ember with a horse slayer. Using a killer lance on hard mode he always has at bare minimum a 50% chance to get a crit. He is one of the strongest Fire Emblem characters of all time. I can send him into hordes of strong enemies and he will not even come close to dying. I am not sure how OP he is on Maddening, but he is OP on both Normal and Hard Mode.

But I can say with certainty that unless you exp screw Dimitri, he is crazy good even on Maddening. He basically solo'd the final bout with Edelgard, with the exception of Mercedes and Annette obliterating the reinforcements behind him

It was kind of sad, because Dimitri was such a nice guy before the 5 year leap. It made me feel sad seeing such a nice guy turn into a bloodthirsty, sadistic, hate-filled, psycho. I was glad when he goes back to being nice again. I did like the edgelord storyline they gave him though. It gave him a lot more substance.

dimitri is fueled purely by spite, rage, the screams of people who look at him funny, sprinkled with a killer lance+ for some added bloody flavor and maybe he should leave some EXP for the rest of us
I feel legitimate pity for the enemies that have to get cut down by Dimitri at this part in the campaign. His voice actor did an amazing job. One of the more satisfying and thematic things there is to do is give him all the killer weapons to jack up his crit rate that coincides narratively with his bloodlust.
Dimitri was my most broken unit. Felix was pretty close to it but his low defense and resistance was a bit annoying. But Dimitri dodged literally every attack and then doubled or one shot the unit with a nice crit, and if he got hit he took little to no damage.

Dimitri had a higher defense so if he didn't dodge it wouldn't matter that much because I could just heal him. It was a higher risk to put Felix out there since his avoid was a lot lower than Dimitris and the aegis shield never worked when I needed it to work. Felix is a beast too I'm not denying that but Dimitri was a safer play in my playthrough. I'm currently doing golden deer and his speed growth is a lot better compared to my blue lions run. I guess i was just unlucky in my first playthrough.

I think his exclusive character class could have been called Edgelord instead of High Lord and no one would have questioned it. I love his counter attack that does the tornado kick. I wish even after he regained his sanity he would have kept the dark circle(s) under his eye(s). I know they were to represent his insanity, but he looked cooler with the dark circle(s). Dark circles under the eyes runs in my family, but we are not insane (or at least I would like to think we are not, we do not murder people at the very least, except my great grandpa, but he didn't even have dark circles, so it does not count in that regard.)
I'm glad the dark circles went away after a certain point. They worked well for edgy Dimitri, but I wouldn't have wanted sane Dimitri to have them. Seeing him without the dark circles after his redemotion arc is very satisfying.

Never have I felt this powerful playing Fire Emblem.

My first route was Blue Lions. After the time skip I would just leave Dimitri in the middle of the battlefield with a scythe and a killer lance and forget about him. 4 turns later I'll be like "wasn't there like 30 enemies over there?" Dude's so strong he can singlehandedly clear a map.

I absolutely love Angy Dimitris' crit quotes, the delivery of those lines alone is phenomenal, his voice actor did an amazing job. My favorite of them is "Don't Struggle" but the other ones are pretty good as well.

Only person that manages to crit as much as him on my team was Lysithea.
I had above 50% with Caspar. He proceeded to crit 4 times in one attack
