Thanks. It sparked me to do this. We found 65 gallon barrels that had various peppers or olives in them. We got the bigger ones as the lids were better and one piece. We got them from a guy that buys all the empty barrels from an Italian store/food manufacturer. We can fit 7 bags of feed in each one. This allows us to buy at a pallet level of feed for cows in the winter and then Cornish cross chickens in the summer. It’s a time and fuel saver. (Less trips to get feed). @weaversstonehousefarm
So sorry to just now be seeing this! Pigs are omnivores, and can survive on many things. But what they eat does effect their health, their rate of growth, and the flavor of their meat as well. Our pigs currently eat a fairly simple mix of corn and soybeans with specially formulated minerals specifically for hogs 😊
Great way to cut the lids
I saw a 16" lid replacement for something by the tractor stuff at Tractor Supply yesterday. It screws on. It was $50 I believe.
Great deal!
Thanks!

I just got 8 metal barrels that had some type of Sodium Media in them for free. I will keep the feed in bags and just store in the barrel.
What could possibly be so special about bagged pig feed? I thought pigs ate anything

If you want them to grow fast, you generally use pig feed.
