Makes sense though - I could tell something was different in the video, because in the main riff, he is playing the octave on the 1st fret of the 6th string instead of the 0th fret (as it would be in a drop tuning) or the 2nd fret (as it would be in a standard tuning)
I don’t understand why guys like this play 8 strings when all they need are 6 strings tuned down. Most of these guys do not even use the high strings at all.

I'm gonna build a guitar with a 28.5" to 31" scale with 5 strings tuned to G... Tha'tle show the world... Oh and its because 8 strings are sick.
