    Fantastic coverage:..... at least now everyone can see another great use for geology, forestry, etc that quadcopters" Drone"s can be utilized very exceptionally!

    I see three holes. The first you spotted, and then two very close to one another a little later. One of those latter two was on the edge of the lake and filled in with water. You can see it at around 4:28 and up, til you pan away with the drone.

    If you look at the water level at 4:32 that's exactly how I saw it about a week ago.

    so a sinkhole just showed up and drained the lake? wonder where the water went?

    • @jonathancameron8431
      @jonathancameron8431  6 років тому +2

      moo cow no, did not just show up. Lava tubes under the entire region. During the fall, winter and spring there is sufficient rain fall and snow melt to keep the lake full and you don't see the holes. But during the dry season the lake slowly drains.

    I used to go there when I was a young kid that would of been 30 years ago it used to be a nice lake even during the summer it seems that it’s getting worse maybe the holes have been there the whole time but there used to be way more water in the lake people could actually boat on it we where just there today now it’s a hell hole only one person camping there out of maybe 20 or more camping spots plus mosquitoes attacking as soon as you get out of the car

    Maybe there is a lava tube underneath, or natural spring dried.

    • @jonathancameron8431

      K Tor thanks for the commrnt. There most certainly is, a short hike from the highway, some are quite visiable. It fills in the late fall, winter and especially in the spring with the snow melt. But summer comes and isn't enough water supply to keep up with the drainage.

    • @CSX4772

      As a matter of fact, it is indeed a collapsed lava tube. And the water drains into it.

    What happen to this lake now?

    • @jonathancameron8431
      @jonathancameron8431  4 роки тому

      It's just a cycle, winter and spring there is enough rain and snow melt to keep it full, but into summer it will drain again. My first year here was during a drought year, much more of the lake bed was exposed, dried and cracked, but there is always a creek or spring that feeds it for continuous flow.

    Maybe this is an ancient volcano's caldera. Might have been a geyser field at one time long, long ago. Not all calderas are as big as Crater Lake or Yellowstone. A lot of the rock looks to be heavy with silica like one would expect around geysers. Might want to be careful where you walk, could fall into a hole somewhere else in this area. I sure as hell wouldn't go there alone and I'd carry a sat-phone-just in case.

    God, the Father asks His children: "What elevated directions for making effort does each Godly student receive at the confluence age?" He also answers to them: "Godly students receive shrimat (the most elevated God's directions) to become pure at this time and make effort to claim the kingdom. Each of you has to be concerned for your own self and tell others: "In order to claim your inheritance from the unlimited Father, tie a rakhi (a bracelet) of purity in this final birth. Stop increasing the population in this land of death. Belong to the Father and become worthy of heaven. By following the Father's directions and becoming viceless at this time, you will become viceless for 21 births."

    Take a big bulldozer and scrap the dirt around the hole and fill it in. Then cover with a plastic cover, cover it and let the lake form. It would last forever.

    • @jonathancameron8431
      @jonathancameron8431  6 років тому

      tweetieindiana lol, some holes fill in naturally, and others open up. Just part of the local ecosystem. Plenty of year round lakes in the area

      FYI, yes it is. Do you realize that Oregon has about 19 or 20 lakes named Lost Lake? I’ve been to 16 of them. I also live on one of several of the creeks in Oregon named Lost Creek, that is how I got interested in the Lost Lakes. His link doesn’t work on my tablet since I don’t have any Google stuff on it but that looks like the one about 25 miles west of Sisters on Hwy 126/20 near Hoodoo Ski Area.

      You’re incorrect. There’s 19 or 20 lakes in Oregon named Lost Lake and this is one of them. I’ve been to 16 of them. This looks like the one about 25 miles west of Sisters on Hwy 126/20 near Hoodoo Ski Area. I’ve been there many times and I can guarantee you that the sign says Lost Lake.
