We all communicate with our animals through our words, tone, and body language. But to have them "speak" to us with buttons that make words is BEYOND amazing!
@dad4ever-c90 With certain dogs, you can feed them alphabet soup and they will be able to speak just like a human. I heard about a dog named Martha who was capable of this.
When she said about in case of a medical need, that she wanted Copper to tell her when and where she was hurting, that got me. I had to put my Riley to sleep last year and I wish he could've told me when and where something hurt. Hell, just hearing that he loved me back would've meant the world to me. Animals show you their love, but to hear it? Just, WOW.

My, goodness, how smart. I think it shows that dogs are a lot smarter than we thought and capable to be taught things like this, and show/have that they have feelings❤❤
I taught my pug how to use the buttons. He loves them. He learned the mad button the same day. Of course I also recorded the button with a mad tone. It’s also the most used button because I don’t share enough of my food with him.
Enrichment, understanding & love. The main 3 things anyone needs to understand animals, whether they're wild or domesticated. These stories melt my heart & make me miss the pets I had in the past.
The spatial awareness is even more mind boggling! Dogs only had free to be in the vicinity of the buttons and reach out and hit the correct ones without looking! They'll walk over them without looking down and tap the ones they need while passing by. That's even crazier
A dog named Chaser knew the names of over one thousand toys. He was able to work out the name of a new toy amongst a group of old toys when asked to bring the new toy because he knew the names to all the old ones so the new one must be called that! He truly was the world’s smartest dog!
Holy hell, she's incredible! I've seen quite a few of these animals, but I'm not sure if they've done things as complex as this, not to sound rude to them or their trainers of course. That ouch system is remarkable and I can imagine that everyone would love a system like that for their own pet!
This project has some really interesting long-term applications. I especially like the idea of a pet being able to tell the guardians about pain they have, so it can be addressed and unnecessary discomfort for the little fellow can be avoided. I have always believed that many animals are way smarter than we give them credit for, especially in regard of social intelligence. Being able to communicate directly will probably enable some major progress in that research.
This is seriously mind-blowing! Amazing dog. I'd love to see the day when more dogs are trained like this. What a lucky family to be able to interact with their pup. 😄💙😍
I recently put my 14 year old lab down, she was incredibly smart, a peace maker, a lover of all animals, telepathic, I really miss my Shadow, my best friend my mate, she will be somewhere waiting me to come home so we again will be reunited.
I'm so very sorry. It's been nearly 30 years since I lost my soulmate and even now I think of her every day. Often about some mischief or other she had got into! Maggie was something special, and whereas I have loved and absolutely do love every other dog in our family, I have never quite had the bond I had with her. She knew I was pregnant before I did! (She refused to play a rough and tumble game we always played, and just carried on refusing. Until the first walk I took her on after having the baby, and she grabbed the leash and tugged it, her sign to play. That baby became a dad himself in October!) I hope you can see that though you are hurting, you will carry your precious memories with you for the rest of your life. They give you something to emotionally cling on to, especially on days when the grieving hits again. Take your time to grieve properly. How you do it and for how long will be entirely up to you. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. Much love to you during this hard time ❤
