Hi guys, I'm leaving a comment here because I'm finishing college and I'm completely lost, I don't know which jobs to look for. If I want to stay on track to maybe one day becoming a CFO, where would you advice to start? Strategic consulting, audit in a big 4, early development programs of big corporations or even investment banking? Thanks a lot for every feedback
The truth is there is no "best" path to CFO. CFO roles vary from tiny start-ups to the biggest companies in the world. And... CFOs come from a variety of backgrounds ... If you are talking about public companies, most likely they start out at Big 4, F500 FLDP, Consulting, PE, or IB... but it's really not where you start ... it's how you progress and what you do between starting and getting to the CFO level.
I agree completely, the role has changed drastically. Its more of an advisor role to the CEO, that bases advice on data.

Is data science now part of the CFO umbrella? I'm a data scientist and currently seeking my CPA designation? Am I on the right track?
All decisions in any company are data driven. So yeah it definitely adds up, and your on the right track.
