"Hello guys, today I'm taking a look at the Australian 2nd Volunteer Defence Garrison Militia Battalion, these over-age and medically restricted soldiers manned coastal batteries in Sydney and never fired a shot in the war, lets see how they do against the 1st SS Panzer Division Leibstandarte."
The Humber LRC is so goofy looking that I can't help but love it. Some interesting Infantry in this Division but unfortunately not much else, the Polish Airborne though do look very nice for the price and the Air Tab is quite good.
4:31 yes Vulcan the Gemot means: Gemotoriseerd (Motorized). And Gevechtsgroep means fightinggroup or unit. Pro tip in the Dutch language when there is a G you will always have to make a hard G sound.
Looks quite decent, noticable weaknesses are not having any monster CQC, only decent rifle squads with flamer, no 50cal halftracks, no good recon cars, the biggest weakness - no 2km HE...no offmap and no heavy howitzer. Everything else is amazing. Hope it stays like this. Really glad they arent making it as annoying as 4th canadian armored and DBSAS with their phase locking where all the cool units are locked until C where you dont need more than 2 cards of units per tab...Maybe the sniper mg42 guys are too cheap at 25pts.
Big history buff on the 43rd Wessex and this division is such a miss it's a shame. Way to much polish para and Dutch resistant representation it borders on total fantasy.
Great preview. 23 1 pts slots and 15 2 pts slots. You can't fill all the 2pts slots. Wtf. This polish inf with mg42 and sniper at 25pts seems insane. For comparison, FSJ ZF costs 40 pts to get just an extra mg42. It looks like the most standard CW div (with the only special thing being the polish inf in C). Seems pretty strong for 1v1.
The FSJ ZF is going back down to 35 for what its worth. (yay...more big sniper squads) I find two point slots is where AP costs can get wonky. Sometimes you have tabs filled with 4-5 Two point slots after the Ones, and just nothing to put in them. (Old AA and Air Tabs are often guilty of this) The 1-2 AP count is a useful metric, but it does require some context. 4AD also doesn't have great slot costs, but is still public enemy #1. The whopping 7(!) 1AP slots in the infantry tab are the real star here imo. It leaves you crazy flexible everywhere else. Realistically however, even if two of those 1 AP slots became 2 cost AP slots, you are still looking at only 1 more card of stuff somewhere. (and 23 One cost and 15 Two cost is very average) And the only place with an abundance of 2 cost slots left would be the Air tab, so not a huge difference maker.
@ From my tracking so far, 23 is on the higher end for 1 slots, but only by 1-2, and plenty of top and bottom end divisions have more. 15 Two point slots is actually on the lower end though.
@@BlitkriegsAndCoffee normally the diffs are on 1 or 2 1AP slot (and therefore more 2 AP ones) but in general AP powercreep is a bad take repeated again and again. What new divs usually have is a better distribution of the same AP costs, so they don't have something like 7x1AP in the tank tab
Yawn. The only interesting units are phase-locked to C-Phase. The Dutch troops add a bit of flavour in A but overall this division is similar to many other Commonwealth. I'm gutted people voted for this Nemesis matchup for the Jagdpanzer with a slightly more potent gun. Big whoop. Meanwhile, the Greek Island matchup with a ton of unique units was left on the shelf :( Even the US option sounded more interesting/competitive. I'll still buy the DLC but I'm far from hyped for it.
Honestly there wasnt really nothing to choose from. First choice was generic american div and generic german div. Second choice looked most promising but when you actually looked into the divs it would be NOV all over again and nobody wants that ever again. That left us with this. But i am disappointed by the assault troops, they were painted as chunky CQC squad, as the name implies but they are just Scout S.A.R. but worse.
@simonnovak6832 NOV/Rosselsprung wasn't a vintage pair for multiplayer but I enjoyed them in single player, especially Rosselsprung. The Greek Island pair had a ton of flavour, even if not S or A tier. Not every division needs to be top of the meta but I fully understand why players prioritise competitiveness. I'm just salty as I didn't get my own way ;)
@ Well if by singleplayer you mean playing against AI in a skirmish then yeah its fun to mess around for like couple hours, but most players want to see divs they wont get bored of or got forbid have chance to win in a game.
@ I am sorry but i couldnt vote for another american meta div, we have more then enough of them, but we havent got dutch units and polish paratroopers are awesome. btw this "wehraboos" argument is nonsense because most people in the community choose this nemesis because of the allied div, including me.
If current trends continue, it's thought that by 2031 SD2 will have more divisions than ever existed in the actual Second World War.

@@bigpoppa1234 By late 1944, odds are the 1st SS panzer is going to have pretty similar manpower standards as your militia battalion =P
Sounds fun - I’ll buy it
Ngl, Eugene should just add Pacific front instead bloating West and Eastern front with division that most of the units in them just copy pasted.
That's definitely not happening when Eugen needs to announce the game isn't dead they promise.
Wasn't mentioned in the video, but the paras get sten mk V, which is an improved version of the sten + all the stens were buffed

2K HE is cool to have but I wouldn’t say its necessary, you can always use mortars as a substitute
4:21 I'm guessing it means Battlegroup. I don't speak Dutch, but it's similar in German (Gefechtsgruppe)

POLISH AIRBORNE WOOOOOOOOOOO😂
Thanks! 17pdrs not having cmp trucks, only bedf8rds a tad frustrating

Its the only real star of the deck, support tab is really weak in this deck.
GEKOLONISEERD🎉🎉
That support tab is the saddest thing i've ever seen.

Mid division but fun to play.
Nah in 1v1, it is going to be very strong. Not over the top but definitely a good division for tournaments and QP.

lmao 6 bofors cards and 4 AA slots? Already can see the low effort lmao
