Oh wow so now it weighs as much as a 10th scale truck, with metal parts that will bend and Steven instead of flex and come back to shape.... Nope, I got to say the stock plastic chassis and arms are so much better. BUT I do agree on extending the axles about 10-12mm front and back is a huge improvement 4 this little truck's stability/ & way less roll over for the win tho!
The weight probably helps keep it on the ground. I just upgraded mine and the front end is so easy to pull off the ground! I have the axle extensions, bigger wheels, 30 amp esc, 3s lipo and transmitter. Got mine up to 41 MPH
Everyone says these hbx cars are super tough, but how do the differential gears hold up? That's what I always have failures with in every car. Seems they don't make a good stock gear anywhere.
HBX came out with metal gears upgrade but it still wears out quick on 3s. I think it's called the Bevel Gear. The small gear that runs directly with the Planetary Diff Gear. Have you heard of MJX?
@@judybustamante9859 I just got the hbx 16889a pro today. It's fun!! Definitely better than the crap hosim x08 that was 300 bucks and lasted about 2 batteries before the diffs stripped out. I was just looking for something to drive around the yard and not have to worry about replacing parts each time I drive it. So far so good. It does backflips off of my tree stump too which is coo.
@@eliflynn7282 I also had the 16889a Pro with a 2838 motor. The diffs eventually stripped too when i put an ESC that was able to support 3s. They strip fast when you use 3s doing fast acceleration and wheelies. I also do 3s speed runs and though im careful with accelerating suddenly, it still strips eventually. Thats why i was asking if you heard of MJX HyperGO 14301/02?
@@eliflynn7282 oh and are you serious about the X-08? I was looking to get that car. Wasn't sure about the metal gears on that. Thats disappointing if it strips fast for a car that price. Plus, are the parts easy to get like the HBX?

Might be good to only do the top arms in metal and weigh the front down. It's the bottom ones that take the brunt of the abuse right?
Endlich ich habe das auch vor, megaaaa!!!😁 sieht super aus, amazing! Soo 😎
It is very cool indeed! If you run into any problems feel free to let me know!
Nice video! I am on the process of upgrading my hbx too, were you able to solve the steering problem? New servo perhaps?
Nice video! When is the next video coming? I've been waiting the whole time!
More power. Larger contact patch on tires. Strip gears etc?
those metal parts made the steering better?
Do some videos of driving in day time
so what about those tires?
Can’t see anything in the dark, lol
Just buy a Reflex 14MT
