    Hey, great to see more people working on the HBX 16889, it is a fun little truck. I have a quick question regarding the rear shafts - do they bind for you and were modifications needed? I have seen only one other video on YT on the topic from Mark Bryan RC and he mentions he had to drill the rear drive cup in order to fit the dogbone. Looking forward to your opinion on the matter. I have somehow broken one of the original phillips screws that holds the wheel and it is now stuck in the hub, so I am looking at the metal parts now in order to get rid of the screws and have the usual lock nut setup on it.

    • @SolRC
      @SolRC  3 роки тому

      I don't know how I missed this great question. The rear dog bones have never bound on me. I have a couple of questions so I may better help you. 1) do you have the metal dog bones ? 2) do you have the metal outdrive cups ? Thanks for your question and I am sorry it took so long to answer. I have not had to modify anything for anything to fit. This was a plug and play operation. Cheers 🤙

      @@SolRC thank you for taking the time to reply, I really appreciate that. And now on the topic - I am currently waiting for all metal parts(drive cups, dogbones, etc) to arrive from China, but as I am based in Europe it takes quite some time. Happy to see(read) you haven't had any issues replacing, I am hoping for the same results on my end as well and will share feedback once the "operation" is done.

    Thanks for the video. How do you adjust the slipper clutch on this? The wheels on mine spin like they should in the area, but it keeps slipping when on the ground. I've verified that the pinion and spur gear and in good condition (not stripped) and have a good mesh. There must be some screw or something on the differential that needs to be tightened but I can't figure out which screw or how to do it. Any suggestion would be great, thanks!

    • @SolRC
      @SolRC  3 роки тому

      thanks for the question 🤙 , to better assist you let's start with what work have you done on it? There is no slipper on this model 🤔. I betting a drive pins fell out somewhere.

    • @Funcentric
      @Funcentric 3 роки тому

      @@SolRC I have yet to replace the differential. That's probably it. Ordered one, but won't be here for up to 35 days. Was picking your brain in case you think it might be something else. I did upgrade this to 3S using just a replacement ESC and receiver. Stock motor, stock pinion and stock spur gear. With the upgrades to 50% more voltage, I am expecting components to wear out more quickly which I'm fine with and expected.
      However, the slippage of the gears causing the rear wheels to not turn at all was something I was hoping to resolve. When the car is held up in the air, the rear tires turn just fine with the throttle. When put on the ground though with even just the slightest resistance, it won't spin or at least not hard enough. Pretty specific. Is that enough for a diagnosis?

    hi, friend!!! I have one of these 16889 appro and it makes a vibration in the rear wheels, it's new and I can't return it, I think it's from bearings, this noise is made when holding the car with my hand and giving and leaving gas, it seems like drinks or axes, the truth is that it is not very rare. It is normal? has it happened to you? I don't think it's a differential, I disassembled it and lubricated it. Another question, I realized that this differential only has 2 pinions inside, the wltoys have 4. Thanks
