I can not adequately express how great this song is. Very difficult to take a song from so gifted as JJ Cale cover of this tune. in New York.I do know who wrote this but I love it.
this was the first time i got to see harry, sat probably 20ft from him and that enchanting voice. since then I've been hooked on him songs and so happy you put this up. I've been looking for this song for months now. thank you
Just saw Harry last night for the first time and this was my favorite song from his performance. I truly enjoyed his music and his wicked sense of humour.
Huge JJ Cale Fan . He would have loved it. I believe. I do know of what I speak regarding me. As far as JJ he played for the music the sound the precision and that is what I craxe.
LOVE this track and all his others. UA-cam is a wonderful thing, all those magnificent musicians waiting to be discovered. Ok.. you have to wade through alot of crap to get to them.. but it's worth it !
@@bodichair No idea of the tuning (probably varies), but has additional ‘drone’ strings (+ 3 add. melody strings) & is something of a guitar/sitar hybrid… I think it’s called a Mohan Vina & was invented by Vishwa Mohan Bhatt (the great Indian musician who can be heard playing it to great effect along with Ry Cooder (slide guitar) on their fully improvised Grammy Award winning album ‘A Meeting by the River’)
@@andrewmair7371 are you sure this is a Mohan Vina? His other main guitar is but this appears to be a 6 string. I saw him play the other night and he definitely played a couple of regular 6 strings.
He told us yesterday evening that he only plays with "those first 3 strings"... the 17 others are useless"... hahaha! he is so funny! Generous! Merci pour le spectacle à Pont-Rouge qui était fantastique!!! J'espère que tu as aimé tes sushis Harry! LOL! ;)
David Lindley does a very nice solo version (actually with a percussionist as well) of this great song on one of his "official bootleg"Cd's, though i havent yet seen any videos of it on you tube . Lindley plays it on a Weissenborn acoustic lap steel of course....
I wonder if he meant native Mexicans - the song is called Tijuana and he did say three shots of mezcal however I could easily listen to this in an East Indian restaurant as well. Come to think of it, any restaurant would do!
Unfortunately, Harry Manx is one of the most underrated contemporary songwriters.
He didn't write this. It's JJ Cale.
@@bebopalooblog2877 I know it. Did I write that he wrote this song?
@@africanheadcharge I hear you! I know from experience one has to be quite exact at times! Otherwise people - and I include myself - get pedantic!
Mesmerizing, transporting.
@@fluffylambut 100% great summation. Also 0% fat on that (those?) statement(s).
Love this cover! An amazing tribute to master of laid back JJ Cale
He is one of my favourite singers bless his voice
Can't believe I just heard about Harry Manx. Glad i did. Great music.

This is wonderfully done with a psychedelic edge to it,
it sounds if we are back in 1967 ....Brilliant!

A soft touch that produces great sound love it thanks. The keyboard player also has great hands and a good touch great.
Can not say anything about the lead guitar . The low notes never came through my com all |I got was high notes .What I heard was good though
His voice is pristine, so is his playing.
Sounds very much like Mark lanegan
damn thats what I call a good cover that has its right of existance on its own
I absolutely love Harry's interpretation of this song. For me, it is a classic.
magnifique interprétation le melange des sons ,la voix chaleureuse...
En effet !

Hypnotic version I like it.
Just saw Harry last night for the first time and this was my favorite song from his performance. I truly enjoyed his music and his wicked sense of humour.
I first heard this in our shared studio about 8 years ago. Thanks Ian for getting me into this! I prefer Harry's version to the original by JJ Cale
Preformed this song solo in Victoria a week ago and it’s still resonates in my head , thanks Harry Manx !!!

Mesmeric. Bravo sir, and thank you..
i've never seen anyone make a guitar sound like a sitar like that before. This song is great
It’s a modified instrument - & Harry’s done his homework 📄👍😊
@@andrewmair7371 modified in what way? Do you know how he has it tuned?
