    Whenever a multicylinder sits, some of the valves will be open, the valve springs compressed, after yrs those springs will be weak and lower the red line, so valve float might happen.

    Hi Shane, really enjoy watching your videos, I'd like to ask you a question, I love to do mechanical work to my old V-Strom 1000 and recently I had the stator magnets coming loose, so rather than getting a new very expensive flywheel, I glued them back and the fix seems to hold and work well so far but I was a bit concerned about the theoretical possibility of the flywheel balance being off after this repair. I went to a shop and they told me that it is not ok to balance the flywheel only (without pistons) and even if it could be done it would be too expensive to do compared to buying a new flywheel. What would you do? P.S. The bike is not vibrating excessively. Thanks if you can help and apologies if I posted this in the wrong place.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the information you shared in the video.
    I have a crucial question about cylinder compression just after engine restoration.
    I've just finished my CBX 750P engine restoration and all parts are original and new I changed.
    I restore the engine literally with the CBX 750P workshop manual book.
    Just after restoration, I test the cylinder compression and all (4 cylinders) shows 85 PSI. But in the manual book, clarifies 170+-25.
    Some references suggest riding min 500 miles and then test the cylinder compression. Some references say compression test just after finished restoration is wrong. What is your opinion about it?
    Thanks in advance.

    should I be just as concerned for a bike that is new but has Benn sitting 5 years?

    • @How2Wrench
      @How2Wrench  4 роки тому

      Yes. Depending were you live "rust" doesn't care about how new it is, steel is steel and will rust. I would for surely be concerned with the fuel system. I can help you personally to come up with a list of what to do.

    Viola Ark Dennie has a Motorcycle junk yard , What I know for fact is trying to restore a 20 year old Honda or Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki you can not find parts . I had a Honda Dealer look up Intake manifolds for a twinstar 250 they even did a worldwide search. called me said no way they could find them look up Junk yards . # 1 Reason I own Harley Davidson I can get parts for a 30 to 40 year old bike .
