I know it's a bit late now but the "only time will tell in less than ten" refers to a set of set time cards that activate within ten seconds of her making that announcement.

I get it, she gives lots of keys early on so that she can lull you into a sense of security and then starts hitting all these things where "if they have 6 keys" or "if anyone is on the inner trail" events.
The trick to remember in all the Nightmare games is that despite all the nonsense that the host puts you through, in the last two minutes, every host will give away all the keys to at least one player. So from there it’s just a matter of making sure players keep rolling as fast as possible to get that person to the Nightmare square.
Around the 30 minute mark, I realized the reason that Anne keeps delaying her words by long periods of time, is because we're watching her burn alive, the delay is from her is from the pain from inhaling hot air. Part 2: at the end, the reason she's discolored and slimy, is because of side-effects of being burned... this is again a random police drama trivia I know...

When she was accused, and ultimately burned, she felt important because the spotlight was on her. So when she transforms, I think it symbolizes her shedding who she use to be and embracing what she was labelled; a "witch".

The game's "we recognize that Anne de Chantraine was a real person who was wrongfully accused and horribly murdered, but in our narrative she's an actual evil witch and they were right to burn her alive" take is bit of a weird one to me. Like in the previous ones, the actor really commits. Which is always fun.

I hope the prices of Nightmare 2&3 were augmented to be lower than the cost of the first given that it needs the resources of the first game. As has been pointed out, 2&3 are more like expansions than games in their own right.

Published in 1993. Does that technically make this the first adaptation of the novel Ring? The first Japanese TV version didn't come out for another two years. Come to think of it, how did they never make an official Ring VHS game like this? Sure it would have bombed at the time, but imagine what they'd go for on eBay now!
Reminds me of when I used to play it with friends as a teenager in the 90's. I still have them all in my cupboard. Loved the Atmosfear games. Apart from the Soul Rangers one. The video was just dreadful for it. Couldn't understand what that Mastiff dude was jabbering on about.
If there was a revision of the original nightmare game, there should be a split screen/fade over with the timer and the face thing when the host comes on the screen and not have any time cards.
Like; the timer not pausing while the hosts are on the screen, has to be one of, if not, the most infuriating parts. Especially here where, props to her acting, she is eating the fucking scenery. She is turning into a literal screen hog. Gatekeepers starring contest is one thing, but dragging out her interruptions for grunts and squeals is just, evil design.
When my siblings and I were growing up we had a game like this, except it was Star Trek Next Gen themed. A Klingon took over the Enterprise and you had to play as cadets who were somehow the only ones left on board to try and stop him. One of the punishments was to "Experience Bij!" "Bij" being pronounced exactly like Beej and I so want someone to send LRR a copy so they can play it with Beej jumping out to do horrible things to the players when they have to "Experience BIJ!"
This is up there with the weirdest things I've seen on UA-cam. 🤣🤪😮 I can only imagine the kind of parents and grandparents that might mistakenly have purchased this game for their offspring, juxtaposed with the ones that purchased it on purpose.
