Goodmorning! I love how you incorporated the kale, ornamental cabbage and the squash with the flowers! I really love the look and have never tried it. I need to! Thanks for the inspiration!
Love your videos. I like these the most the planting of the pots. I hardly ever use proven winters plants because they don’t look that good here. Not worth the money. I have tried them several times and always been disappointed. If they look like the ones you use I would have more confidence in buying them in the future.
Love these fall containers, I really look forward to your videos. Question - I believe these are a combination of perennials and annuals. Do you leave those mums and other perennials in those pots and replace with other annuals when the season changes?
Yes, they are a fall container with annuals and perennials. Best to pull the perennials out in 6 weeks or so and find a spot in the landscape for them, then water very well until the ground freezes in your area. If you are in a warmer spot the perennials mught survive, they need to be two zones hardier than where you live. Thanks for watching!
The lady that is doing this demo is Laura from @gardenanswer. I have included her link below. I find her videos to be very informative. She sponsors Proven Winners plants and is using Wilt Stop spray by Bonide, to clean the pumpkins. amzn.to/36EeqzS She explains the use of this spray on the link below ua-cam.com/video/nH_JRDrDxFw/v-deo.html
Have you tried to grow ornamental kale and cabbage yourself for your pots? I would like to try next year because I use an exorbitant amount for my decorating. I have a large vegetable and flower garden so I could grow them back there for my fall plantings, I'm just not sure how that would work. Would I the be able to dig them up and put them in my pots without shocking them? I know we obviously buy them and plant them but I'm not sure if greenhouse grown would be different than starting them in the ground and moving them.
PW is right. She usually purchases the ornamental cabbage, kale. You may want to ask this question to Laura (the presenter on this video). She did this presentation on her channel, Garden Answer, and perhaps you can ask her there. ua-cam.com/video/XDYBWJhDJyE/v-deo.html
Oh I know she didn't this year. Just wondering if she ever has in the past or will plan to grow ornamental kale now with the larger space since she does use a lot.
I thought I was commenting on her channel. So sorry. I am subscribed to both so if I see a new video from Laura I click. Didn't take notice of which channel had posted it.
@@ryfry3562 The expanded area is earmarked for cut flowers and other decorative uses, so she very well might! Laura does not plan way ahead, since she is so creative of a person she goes with the new ideas that she thinks of often the day before shooting!
Possibly, but you would want to know how it was grown, and what it was treated with prior to eating it. If you grow it yourself, absolutely! But many of these are available at garden centers for decoration purposes at this time of the year.
Love this lady and her start to finish details and projects! I have learned so much watching her!

Is that the North Pole arborvitae hedge that Laura planted 6 years ago? It looks great! How tall is the hedge now?
Yes it is, and most likely it is now very close to the mature height which is in the range of 10-15 feet!
Beautiful! 🎉🎉🎉 I live in Long Island NY need to find proven winners retailer?
On the left hand side of this page you will see the area where you can search for a retailer. www.provenwinners.com/. Thanks for watching!

Did you put more dirt in after your initial pour?
Yes, around the outsides of the container and also on top of the plants. Thanks for watching.
@@ProvenWinnersUA-cam Thank you.
What are you using to clean the pumpkins?
It was either water to simply clean each off, or wilt stop, to keep each fresher longer.

What are you spraying on the squash and why?
Best guess is that it might be to repel slugs in the garden.

We are fairly sure she purchased the kale, but the pumpkins and gourds she did grow in her garden this summer.
